The portraying of the jews as a victim, as an outsider among hostile environments is a so much overtold story, an argumentum ad nauseam, that I start to think different. Can't there be a self- responsibility ...? A question only allowed for the accusation of being an anti-semit? Come on, that even wakes up sleeping dogs..
Anybody knows why they were prosecuted by the czar of Russia? Did they do something or were they completely innocent? I have a hard time believe they didn't do anything but i suppose that's possible. I'd just like to make i get both side of the story here, anyone?
Its funny to start a film about a history of Hollywood with Once upon a time in a west´s images, an italian film, writen, directed and produced by italians, and shot almost entirely in Spain and Cinecita´s studios
it's always been well documented hollywood moguls were of eastern european jewish dissent. being raised a "christian" in new england, i counted, among my close friends, jews, they were my family. i admired em cause they were established, very spiritual, & intellectual & financially advantaged. they were well respected & admired; pillers of our community . our families have even intermarried. i was proud & thrilled when they said we're all family! and we are, no matter our origins.
You gotta laugh about that "cavalry" bit. At the same time the Cossacks were charging - the US army Cavalry was charging Indian villages to burn, rape & kill! In fact the "Western Movie" period covers the time of switching from oppressed to oppressor, not right away in Israel, but money, arms, were on there way starting even before WWII.
@MustacheVerra This argument predates Judaism, going back to ancient Sumerian text. At that time man was created (or modified if you will) in "their" image with "their" likeness and we were given knowledge in return for our labor. The easiest way to control is to divide, so history was split into 2 halves, 1 teaches of slavery and the corresponding religions developed (Christianity, etc.), and the other (Judaism) focused on the forbidden knowledge still practiced by masons, illuminati, etc.
How in hell can that jewish guy be "the Father of Feature Films" when he CLEARLY IS NOT, (this is Hollywood myth making at it's worst). For the information of any who are interested, THE 1st FEATURE FILM IN HISTORY WAS "The Story Of The Kelly Gang" made in AUSTRALIA in 1906. Aussies invented them and the French even beat the Yanks to features with Les Miserables in 1909.

@Battleheim You are wrong. I am a fan of old movies and if anything the old movie moguls mostly made movies with a largely pro American,pro British,pro Christian,pro western point of view. Any viewing of Turner Classic Movies prove that those jewish film moguls loved our society.To the extent that they were quilty of distortion,it is a distortion of a positive kind--They made us look better than we actually were,often ignoring our sins,our racism,sexism,etc. They provided a positive view of us.
The comments on this page are disgusting. I cannot understand how some people feel OK to foment such hatred against a whole group of people. We owe a debt of gratitude to more people of Jewish descent than just about any other group. There are many Jewish scientists, inventors, and doctors, who have given the whole world life saving procedures and products which have extended our lifespans, and made life better all over the world. The hatred on this blog shows such complete ignorance.
Too bad the producers of this "History" mostly ignore the fact that these 6 main men took an already established business that was a wonderfully creative art form, silent motion pictures. This almost makes one think these 6 men created Hollywood - as a town AND as an industry. If one didn't know any differently, from this you'd think most movies were psychological exercises working through the oppression suffered during their harsh childhoods. This must have been made in the 80's when it was cool to create victims...it's such a human thing to mold "History" through whatever is the current trend. (Stopped watching at #5! lol!)
