If the present government can re build this lines again to Yatiyanthota and Rathnapura it will be one of the biggest revenues to country. Many Tourists will travel same like Badulla
Beautiful video. The Ceylon Government Railways were run by Dutch Burghers and Eurasians and they rendered a marvellous serves. Unlike today many Railway officials are corrupt and inefficient and do not hesitate to throttle and depreciate the honest. We must not forget that many rare and valuable steam locomotives were sold for scrap with the motive to earn commissions and personal profit. What a pity as some of these locomotives were the only ones in the world. I did not mean to offend anyone in person, just that I am expressing my opinion.
