very interesting this video, all my family is a pioneer freak, once in the christmas night in maybe 76 i told my grandparents, parents ,uncles and direct cousins that i had bought a sansui component system and it sounded more clearer than pioneer the silence took over the room a cousin i grew up with but 5 years older he was the best when young but that night he was a bit drunk and even later he almost looked like he wanted to be real violent with me, had to run, the house was really big

i had several pioneer cd players but from a certain point up the older ones even in amplifiers turntables in blue "for digital" i started to buy sony because where i live is only sold sony or pioneer ,the other brands 400kms by road, most of the models from 88 up were never seen in european catalogs , the references are all wrong too, the second phase of 88 were all equal the PD-7100 was my first standart cd player before a sony first model portable with a insert in black plastic where it had a transformer to 220volts and two rca´s , in 89 i kept my father´s 7300 but here is PD-757,maybe japanese referencies, later i bought a urushi system that i have seen here lot´s of the same box but PD-3000,5000, here it was only the PD-9000, also earlier the PD-73, but i had already the 7100 ,the 7300 than i bought a without use a PD-9000 to match urushi finishings but had already the system on high-end cd player of the 90´s but later above the PD-S701, that was still sold also under the reference PD-7700, i know this because when my friend needed to go to Lisbon to get orders or cds to sale i would stay at the shop and had to explain why not buy a 6300 and buy a 7300 ,i was going mad with referencies ,then "what are the main diferenc8ies in sound between one and it´s next model"i sold a lot but i had to explain all specifications nothing that the clients didn´t understand nothing about what i was saying , to end they would ask "what´s the diference in money" than another 5 minuts with him looking tothe catalog and ...."i want the cheapest" the 6700 ,"no,no,no," this one pointing at the PD-101 ,100€ at the time the others he made me say both players referencies were what today is 350€ and 430€, and i know guys that discuss for a entire half an hour throwing rerencies to one another we don´t even understand what brands are they refering to , here you say the PD-73 urushi is sold in 1990 but it was before the PD-9000 urushi versions of regular models, the PD-T07 was the japanese reference and others similar that start with a T before the number, it´s all messed up the PD-75 and 95 were never sold in 1992 at least in Europe, i had a cd-r before cd-roms had aceptable quality PDR-04 conected by optical cabel to the PD-9000, there a lot of models showed years after being sold or the reverse, in the store i put in the same amplifier with prologue speakers the rega more expensive and a PD-S905 the sound was more separated and smooth and therega that costed more at the time 1200€ looked like made with old plastic and the cheapest and a display from early 80´s texas instruments calculators and the pioneer was the best materials known in hi-fi and in the specifications all in the pioneer was better so i don´t get them "what hi-fi "saying the regas were the best, today none works and i´m still waiting for my first and second cd player to give a problem ,we are in 2024
