For tonight, I take you on a journey to explore the long road to space exploration, from the creation of the first rockets almost 1,000 years ago to the space race of the Twentieth Century. We will go through the launch of Sputnik, the first artificial satellite, the flight of Yuri Gagarin, the Gemini Program and its records, Project Apollo and the first Moon landing, the space stations and shuttle programs, all the way to the present. I will also tell you a little about some of the fathers of spaceflight like Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Robert Goddard or Wernher von Braun.
