I’m an Aussie and when traveling through the USA I had Left hand Milk stout in Sherman Texas, that’s one of the best Ive ever had. Saint Andrew brewery in Victoria Australia is a very close draw.

Went to BJ's restaurant and they had a new stout called dragons milk. its the creamiest, smoothest, sweetest stout I've had with a rich coffee flavor. and it had 11% abv. kinda wish it had lower alcohol so i can drink more of it

In Wisconsin in the USA the 2 two best Milk Stouts I have found so far are at Round Man brewing in Spooner and Point brewing in Stevens Point.

My favorite style of dark beer! Thanks Ryan, I had never heard of the story of milk stout from this angle before.

Very informative and interesting. I didn't know the science and history behind milk stouts. Excellent.

I like the West Indies Porter by Guinness which is 6% Vol. It was originally brewed about 1801 for the West India Porter market but was remade and sold some years back now. A great beer that I love.

Pretty excited to try a few different milk stouts I just saw some at the corner market picked it up it’s belching beavers peanut butter milk stout I enjoyed that style of beer. I’m pretty sure it’s not the best milk stout out there so any recommendations for a great milk stout. ? Thanks my friends

I've traveled the world over, let me tell you, south Africa's Castle Lager Milk Stout is really out of this world

Pretty sure I invented the milk stout a couple of years back when I mixed milk with my Guinness.

Milk Stout is a very popular style of stout where I live, SAB which produces Castle Milk Stout had a limited edition Chocolate Stout which had cocoa powder added & I liked it more than the original. Currently, my favourite Milk Stout would be Striped Horse as it has a much richer taste than that of Castle & there has a clear divide between Castle & Striped Horse fans on who not only makes the best Stout but all so the best Larger.

You really need to try Lancaster milk Stout. It truly is a 5 star 🍺!

So I am one of those lactose intolerant. I’ll have to see if I can tolerate one since it seems like most of the lactose is consumed during fermentation. 🤞

You’ve got to really explain what you mean to shop-assistants with this one, otherwise they’ll mistake it for a biscuit.

I have this vague memory from when I was a server of these two foreigners asking for this very dark beer (which literally no one ever drank) and asking for it to be made with 1/3 milk ... I remember clearly the bartender shrugging this off as if it was normal and handing the gentlemen their "milk beers" ... but now I don't understand how they did this without it curdling?? I've been searching the internet but other than brands who specifically sell milk stouts, I can't find any reference to people mixing dark beer and milk together. Is anyone able to shed some light on this? I remember seeing the beer and the milk mix until it looked nearly like a latte, so I know I didn't just make this up. Just wondering why I can't find anything about this.

Unfortunately not very many options for stout in Indiana other than Guinness or Dragon's Milk. Love Guinness so not a total disappointment.

Definitely one of my favourite subgenres out of my favourite beer style! Sadly, they aren't as commonly found as other stouts... Even more so in Belgium, where stouts are not the norm. The two I drink the most would certainly be the one from "Brew by Numbers" and the Jet Black Heart Nitro from Brewdog. But I'm always on the look for new ones I haven't tried. (Speaking of lactose, would you consider making an episode on Milkshake IPAs? I've found myself quite interested in such beers, and even my sister who doesn't like the sweet beverage can't refuse a milk-filled beer ;-) )

...as i intended to share,, Castle Milk Stout is hands down the best yet. Close 2nd, Speights Old Dark. As for Guiness, ja thats too watery and lacking in flavout. If i want to drink guiness i fill half a bottle of Castle Milk Stout with water and a dash of nitro
