The penguin was always one of my favourite Batman villains!! The fact that he is not completely crazy and has no particular superhuman powers is awesome and his friendship with Riddler is so entertaining
@@darlalathan6143 Gotham for a really bad writing had a lot of actors which fit the mannerisms of their characters; Jim Gordon, Alfred, Riddler, Penguin, even Jeremiah and Jerome, but my god the writing was horrific and a lot of points the effects looked bad
i liked Collin as the penguin particularity his accent sounds like a Brooklyn accent he looks like al capone and his mini series would be intriguing to watch but i wish we could get a movie of his backstory with batman in arkham city he clearly states the waynes destroyed the cobblepots and that personal connection makes for great storytelling
he acted like he didnt know the wayne family that intimately tho when he found out who bruce wayne was (funeral scene) and he shows zero resentment towards Bruce in the film (hes nice to him)
The Penguin is a very interesting character in The Batman i never thought i would loved his character before, Matt reeves and Collin Ferrell did a great job with his character the Penguin in this movie is so charismatic and funny he became one of my favorite characters from the movie.
No matter how horrible of things some of Batman's villains do, I think it's almost completely justified by some of their origins. Penguin is the perfect example of that. I've always rooted for him in every story he's in.
Had a feeling for sure that The Penguin got an origin video for sure but maybe some more Batman Villain related videos would be necessary especially when knowing how The Batman has lived up to expectations.
@@SCOOTTY_04 That’s true with Colin Farrel set to reprise the role for HBO Max but also an 80th Anniversary and I think an 80th Anniversary based on plenty of Batman Villains including Oswald Cobblepot with Danny Devito writing for Penguin’s Story Arc.
Can’t believe this guy is getting his own series because of the new movie! Also damn this dude had a messed up upbringing. At least his mom was ok enough. 10:19 holy shit I did NOT know that! Hmm interesting information.
You know what I'm thinking We should get a Batman series with Robert Patterson in HBO Max I want to see Batman fight other villains like scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Mr. freeze, poison ivy, Killer Croc, Black mask Batman got cool villains We never see these guys that often In movies
I did not know how tragic and depressing his origin story is. Now I feel sorry for this fiction character and kudos to the writer. This proves that no matter what, you can not get away from past experience and its up to the being to let it define you or change for the better.
Legit tho from what I’ve heard , Colin Farrell knocks it out of the park as Penguin , but since we’re getting Mr Freeze next in the Reeves trilogy , god I really hope we get a good Mr Freeze since it’s been more than 20 years since he was in a live action Batman movie and god knows that was an absolute atrocity
Who do you think did the childhood of the Penguin a living nightmare between his father, brothers and the school bullies? Who do you think he enjoyed getting revenge on?
Since you are doing history of the characters who are going to appear in the Matt Reeves Batman movie with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, can you please do history of Alfred Pennyworth in your next video? Who do you think should be the Robin for this trilogy?
What do you think Oswald Cobblepot would have been like if his father got him a Plastic surgeon to fix his big nose? Is he best at being a crime boss and getting ruffians to do his dirty work?
I think that could make him more insecure, since that would be like his father telling him he’s ugly. It would make him more bitter because he’d see how people might treat him better after getting a nose job, even if he’s still the same guy. I think the newer mob boss Penguin is best at hiring others for that since some versions of him play both sides (being a mob boss & informant for Batman/the cops). However the versions who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty are also great in their own ways.
Can you do history of the villains of the Stargirl TV show like Mr_Bones, Dragon king, Brainwave and Icicle? When are you going to do history of the Flash Villains Mirror Master and Top since the second half of season 6 of the Flash has finished? Can you do history of the Blackhawks, Rocket Red Brigade, Blue_Beetle, Mr Terrific and Plastic Man along with the history of the Villains Dr Alchemy and Abracadabra?
Mr Freeze is supposed to be the next villain in Matt Reeves franchise. Hopefully he'll really be Mr Freeze or become him at some point. Be really cool if Reeves has the guts to do THE MR FREEZE. Send the statement that his movies are indeed Batman movies. That they are indeed comic book movies and not tryna deny it.
I’d love to see a modern, grounded take on the character. However I feel like the more grounded version of him is Captain Cold. I’m sure it would be the most interesting iteration of a Batman rogue and I’d love to see it
@@football8897 Mr Freeze comic book form might not fit but at the same time it probably could. Mr Freeze is a complex human character and anti villain. So him being in comic book form or eventually reaching comic book form could maybe still work in a grounded setting without taking away from the emotion, humanity, and grounded tone of this universe.
When are you going to do history of Marvel's Sandman and Kurt Conners the Lizard since they made a live action comeback in Spider-Man No Way Home along with the Elementals who were mentioned in Spider-Man Far From Home?
I grew up with BATMAN and Batman Returns. I didn't know the original story for any of the villains unless they where explained in BTAS. So I assumed Penguins origin was that of the movie. I loved that version of the penguin but as an adult and a comic book reader I have grown to love the original version. Danny Daveto is my favorite actor to play the part but I love the sophisticated mob boss
I enjoyed seeing the penguins all the time in batman series all the time he was a awesome i enjoyed seeing him in the batman movie and i really can't wait for the spin off series to i hope the graphics can be similar to scarface movie
you need to start covering Manga / Anime regularly bro ! your one of my favorite channels & im browsing it at least once a day but it’d be so fuckn clutch if y’all turned into a one stop shop for all my comic book / manga needs brody 💯💚☘️🍀
Is Colin Farrel going to be as good as or better than Danny Devito as the Penguin? Which movie and show do you think did a great job in portraying him?
@@imperiumgrim4717 That's why I said I'm still waiting. I've been wanting him to be mob boss Cobblepot since he started doing gangster movies. And now it's too late, unless they do Batman Beyond with an older Batman.
In the Gotham Central comic Penguin didn't kill or have the high school team killed, it is however later revealed who actually had the kids killed, if you read the comic you'll find out who it was.
So Oswald's father came from a socially high level family.... "I suppose it's true what they say; society is to blame. High society" -the Penguin Batman the Animated Series Ep. 47 "Birds of a Feather."
If you heard of the gentleman pirate, it was just a rich guy who wanted to be a pirate because his life became hard after losing his family but he was an unsuccessful. Pirate look him up steed bonnet.
Putting the wives tales of catching pneumonia with a wet head in the book. Most days in the winter I’d take a shower and then have to go to the bus stop. My hair was frozen every single day. I never caught pneumonia.
As someone who likes comic stuff but never got too deep into Batman's or even DC stories. I have barely any idea of who Penguin is. But if you're someone on a Comic YT channel comment section, I can understand why'd you believe that is the case.
In my opinion Oswald Cobblepot Is The Best Mob Boss in the DC universe And This version Of Him is Way better than the One From Batman Returns The 2021 Penguin is Awesome a true Tribute to the Comics
So... a bad guy comes from a childhood of abuse and bullying? Shocking. If that was all it was, he'd also be redeemable. Penguin, for some reason, just isn't redeemable... as if he's a comic book iconic bad guy or something.
