I love this kind of content. Hope to see more from you. 😊 At bigger train stations in Germany, you can still see a similar clock with a hole in its circle. And it also has usually the delay at the full minute mark. Brings a weird pleasure when it ticks over. Unfortunately many of them have been replaced by digital signs and boards already. I hope some of them will be saved, at least at bigger stations.
this was super interesting to learn! i think we in germany have that same thing where the second still stops, and i never knew why that happened. absolutely loved watching this video :)
Please make more videos Jerry! Love your research, storytelling style, and elegant visuals! Pretty rare these days when every other tech/education account is just regurgitating the same thing
Bro I was just literally reminiscing pre iOS 7 interface and I saw your channel! Mad interesting. I’m surprised you didn’t make a video for 3 years tho on here
The quality of this video and the script and absolutely everything is just so unbelievably amazing. I just know that you're going to gain enough subscribers really fast really soon with this kind of content because it's incredible
Watching this video as a Swiss person I feel so proud. 🥲 Thanks for doing the research, I learned a lot from your video! I remember when I was a kid, me and my friends would always get excited when the train would depart exactly with the pause of the second and would therefore leave on time. And still to this day I get this feeling of satisfaction experiencing it. I also own a Mondaine watch, the Second hand on my model does run on a stepper motor though. Interestingly enough, my family doctor owns the same watch and he always uses it as a guidance whenever he has to measure the heartbeats of his patients, etc. It's definitely a cult classic but also fairly priced as well! I hope you enjoyed your time in Switzerland and you're always welcome back!
interesting, and clever implementation, but I wonder if they really needed the second hand if it involved that much work. I mean, they could use that pulse synchronization with just the minute hand itself.
I absolutely love this video. Came looking for it again today. I'm so curious though, what's up with your FCPX timeline? to you have a title draped across the whole A-roll? or is it an adjustment layer?
Good eye! I actually have two adjustment layers-one for color space conversion over my log footage and another over most of the a- and b-roll for grading.
No need to answer why, it is beautiful and special, also useful, also rememberable, also feel so touchable, at least it has the feeling that it is more close to be like there was such a vivid fairy / yokai hiding inside that thing, sort of feel.
Beautiful vid! I think this clock lawsuit was the cherry on top aside of Apple Maps that got Scott Forstall fired from Apple. Very cool and informative video! Wish everyone listed their sources like you on RU-vid
I really learned something in this video and I didn’t expected that cause I thought I know already everything about the Swiss railway clock ❤ by the way apple did not have a similar looking clock by accident. Every product and watch face designer learns about the Swiss Railway clock iconic design at school.
