History of Zoom H4n, Q8 and using EXH-6 with Q8

As a Q8 user that's been wondering about this question but didn't want to spend the money to test it myself, thanks a bunch. Now that I know this, I'll be getting one and an ECM-3 extension cable to combat the weight.

One thing to note -- the EXH-6 doesn't provide phantom power on the Q8, and there's no way to independently adjust the levels on the two channels. I'd recommend using the EXH-6 for line-level stereo inputs, and then use the onboard jacks for mics if needed.

when using exh6 two channels, does the q8 zoom camcorder save two separate audios on the camera? or an audio only as in mic lr

Thanks Pianoman, this will effect my decision to buy Q8. Have one question hope you may know: DOES Q8 PERMIT OVERDUBBING LIKE IN H6? (normally I know that q8 does not have overdub but maybe they made a firmware upgrade to allow this, if my quess is true you would be the first person to know this 😉)
