As I said on TV, it's those who supported this onslaught with questions to answer, not those who opposed it. Please like, subscribe - and help us take on the pro-war media here: / owenjones84
Silence = complicity. While it is difficult to talk to friends and family about this it is imperative to do so. Finding every possible way to help others to change their perceptions, with enormous patience and love. The goal is to change people's perceptions and to stop supporting the genocide and ultimately all imperialism. I so appreciate these videos. I have just started my own channel with videos on this subject. We have to do EVERYTHING we can right now.
@@Gphilly819 hamas arent to blame, hamas are a result of 75 years of october 7th's inflicted on the Palestinian people. this occupation didn't start on oct 7th but the narrative you believe forces you to ignore what's really going and it highlights you pure ignorance
The people in power seem to be the only ones who do not despise him for what he did. The ordinary people of the world abhor his actions. Unfortunately ordinary people do not have the power to make people appear before The Hague.
Tony Blair was despised as he represented the left of politics. The criticism of Tony Blair and Tony Benn also, originated from the right wing politicians and media.
The best way for Palestinians to defend themselves is indeed non-violence, because of the overwhelming difference in miltairy capability. Like Ghandi taught us: “Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man.” Also, please dont try to sugarcoat terrorism and try to paint terrorists as freedom fighters.
@@drapedblack7517 except Gandhi would have been crushed if it weren't for the British power being weakened due to World War 2 along with rising nationalist movements like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj (Free Indian Army).
@@drapedblack7517oh right peaceful protest. Search up the March of Return. Gazans went to protest peacefully on the border with Israel and got sniped in their ankles and permanently disabled. That’s what peaceful protest leads to.
The great fear I have is that Israel and its terrible apologists will get away with their crimes. Israel has always enjoyed impunity because of its relationship with the US. The rule of law is at stake here.
As a BW living in lonfon i don’t have a dog in this race .! But i do wish i can’t go about my business in london without being distracted by protestors, i wish my family had this much support during the Windrush …
Personally, I feel Israel has destroyed all its credibility and will never again enjoy the unilateral, unquestioning support it has always received here in America and the U.K. Too many people have been exposed to the truth. I’ve read too many books and have learned far too much about the Israel Lobby to ever go back to my days of ignorance. Now, it seems their stranglehold on American politics is still strong, though waning… their money still spends unfortunately, but it means nothing if we don’t vote for the people who take their bribes. We HAVE to get rid of AIPAC and the like from our political landscape
The world is waking up. Most of the world already is but crucially things are changing in the west. Perception change is slow but it is happening. We have to be patient and we have to welcome those that disagree right now to join us as anti-imperialists, against genocide and apartheid.
What a sick world where those opposed to children being killed are put on the spot, quizzed and called the extremists. We're doomed as a society if we carry on down this road.
Today I was called deranged because I said that Hamas committed terrorism on Oct 7 and Israel is committing terrorism now, and it must stop. Deranged to agree with the Geneva Convention, Genocide Convention etc.
@@leannefranson1198You are not deranged but time will tell whether you are correct or mistaken. One could say that all conflicts that involve civilians being in close proximity to the fighting is terrorism. If you analyse Gaza, its size, the density of population and how Hamas have literally embedded themselves it the fabric of the area and the tactics used by the Israelis, there was always going to be a large death toll. That’s why I believe that they should have been more patient after the initial defensive action. That was never going to happen with Netanyahu, as he was a dead man walking.
Horrendous to actually live through a genocide, to watch it unfolding! Then to have a government who fully supports this horrific brutality! Whilst simultaneously blaming those that march for peace as the dangerous, violent ones! It’s absolutely VILE!
@@FishAndChipsIsBack What a patronising person you are, having read a couple of sentences written by me, you now know my life story? What extraordinary powers you must have! Any chance you could stop this genocide? If you have time of course.👍
I don’t know how old you are, but if you’re older than, say, twenty, you have lived through several. It’s alarming and revealing how some people seem totally unaware of what happens in the world, with the unique exception of this particular conflict. Note: not blaming or judging here, it seems a frighteningly common condition - but it does mean that a lot of people lack perspective.
What’s sickening, maddening, frustrating, terrifying and heartbreaking to me is the fact that a handful of people are able to do this and continue to do this AGAINST the will of millions and millions of people around the entire world and against all these organizations, rules, regulations and laws put into place to prevent the very thing that is happening!
Because we are living in a plutocracy not a democracy, see 'Edn Time' by Turchin, where we have government of the people by the wealthy for the wealthy. All the best.
Yes they are a law unto themselves, this cant go on this way forever. Something will snap eventually in peoples hearts and minds, as you say ‘millions’ are against this now, eventually there will be billions of us who have had enough of this gross injustice.
Owen you really are a hero! Keep fighting for justice, keep calling out the atrocities, and keep on informing us all. You are an incredibly important voice to have in the public discourse, and you have a vast amount of knowledge on the subject matter. Not only that, you are incredibly sharp-minded and articulate, and put things accross in a clear and logical manner. I'm so impressed with the way you put things across, and I really hope that your voice and influence reaches more and more people. Kudos to you Owen, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You are a true hero! Keep spreading the truth. Especially the part of history being the judge. That really hits home. Yr the best! Very easy on the eyes too😊. Free Palestine!
Owen your moral compass has never been on display than on this discussion. You are totally on the side of truth and justice. You are beyond fair minded. How you manage to keep true to your values is a lesson to us all. Keep going your voice is being heard more and more by those who matter.
There should be an investigation as to why the UK government and its opponent Labour have been complicit towards the genocide in Gaza. People need to be held accountable. What to put in place so these war crimes don’t happen again.
Thank you for remaining diligent and honest about this! Thank you for calling hypocrites out like we all wish we could. Thank you for spreading honest news
They will make this about Netanyahu. They will now use him as a scapegoat. Remember, here have been much worse before him, there are worse with him, and there are worse in all levels of government and most institutions, not to forget to mention that the majority of the population supports the genocide regardless of Netanyahu. The problem is more profound and has lasted longer than the last few months. It's all on record, which won't take much effort to research.
I am so tired of listening to the hypocrisy that is coming out of this broken system. I am so happy to hear voices, like yours saying what we all feel . I think as long as their are people like you who stand up and speak against those who have no respect for human life ,no matter where they come from . I am 73, and you give me renewed hope that it's the youth, who are not so indoctrinated into an old way, of accepting these horrors, as just normal part of life, that will turn this around . keep speaking the truth ,we hear you !
seriously? He's taking a risk being here and speaking up openly in his own name. Furthermore, I am depressed enough in the small doses of information I take - he is following everything to be able to talk knowledgeably. That must be such a huge downer. I am extremely grateful to him for his huge efforts.
Explain the crime or crimes in detail? You have to be more specific than using three words. “Genocide, War Crimes”. Obviously you are unable as you are not on the ground. This would have to be independently investigated.
Like the leader of Palestine who lives in Qatar while this whole war goes on? Be angry at Israel, but atleast say something about him living in pure luxury while his people are dying. He doesn’t care about his people, he steals all aid and uses his people as a political tool when it suits him
This is where his rhetoric, ideology and beliefs fall apart as did that intelligently stupid ex Greek Minister. To but it simply they get their ideological knickers in a twist.
@@jrhartley4819"Challenge" Hamas? What do you mean? Should he be trying to get into Gaza to find a militant there, so he can stand in their way with a machete? Of course, even THAT wouldn't be enough for some, so tell me - how many times have you challenged Netanyahu today, challenged the IDF, on their horrific crimes almost beyond imagination and plausibly genocidal acts? I'm looking on your channel, but... All I can say is, I've not seen a single video of his on this subject where he's failed to call Hamas out on their crimes - and afaiaa, he uploads most days! So again I ask what YOU have done, to challenge the *actual* baby beheaders who are tearing children limb from limb?
Journalist Motaz Azaiza met with the UN, he said the UN have asked for proof but because the Israelis kicked their staff out, the UN cannot document as proof.
I don't remember his exact words, but Edward Snowden said something to the effect that the world is run by criminals. Owen Jones repeatedly and relentlessly reminds us all that the world IS, indeed, run by criminals - and those criminals (as opposed to the ordinary kind) almost always get away with it. Thank you so much, Owen! Listening to you makes me want to fight for a better, more just world.
@slappy_chimp you assume he has a brain.... that's more than I would have assumed from him comment, personally I'm not ever sure he's even a biological, could be s bot, how would you tell the difference, Turing test perhaps, excepts bots, especially those utilizing ai, can pass the Turing test now... its on of the symptoms of the dead internet theory.
Thank you Owen Jones for everything you do, despite societal pressure to take Israel’s side, from the very beginning. Will never forget your integrity and efforts to raise awareness and advocate for the Palestinian people. ❤
Thank you Owen. It’s heartbreaking that despite what everyone is doing in their capacity, children are still getting killed, injured and orphaned. I don’t know how these orphans would survive in this extremely hostile environment.
Well done Owen, for elaborating on the UNRWA situation with such erudtion and moral clarity. You must have emotional endurance and tenacity unavailable to most of us. I just get dismally depressed in the face of all the misinformation and the savagery, and the widespread apologia for the same. You are right; apologia for ethnic cleansing is facilitation of ethnic cleansing. Never shut up, never be silenced, never let the liars and obfuscators shield murderers and war criminals have their crimes disguised.
Owen I am deeply grateful for your unrelenting coverage of this horror. I know you would've been on the right side of history on the crimes of the past. I can't believe another is happening in my lifetime.
I just remembered how Saddam Hussein was condemned for using military against civilians in Kurdistan and in the Shatt-El-Arab back then. One of the reasons to wage that war. Now I do not shed a tear for Saddam but in today's reality it is even more bizarre than it was back then. Somehow Israel has managed to undermine the entire West.
What @richarBehead3062 is complain about?? He still fighting for the cause of peace. This could actually be more than OBVIUOUS to anyone. Is there something more constructive than that??? just tell us.... Best regards!
@@claudiomoreiapassos7730 Exactly! You are right - it's more than "obvious" its the hard facts of truth but uncomfortable for many to accept so they try and deflect - getting impossible to put up any kind of defence for this genocide.
I can more than wrap my head around it but your messiah has a habit of repeating himself. He is bereft of a new and constructive thinking. He seems to think bludgeoning people with the same old rhetoric is the answer. It is not!!!!
@richardhead3062 If you've got the "answers," then go set up your own channel mate instead of coming here and policing what OJ has to say...really, why you here if you disagree with his "rethorics". Finally, by using words like "Messiah" and "Bludgeoning " you really show yourself up, bravo!
