In this week's episode of Rap Life Review, Ebro, Nadeska, and Lowkey discuss new releases, including GloRilla's ‘Anyways, Life’s Great…’, and ‘King's Disease III’ from Nas.
Hit-Boy chats with the group joined by his 2-year old son, who makes his musical debut on this project. Hit-Boy connects with the group to unpack the experience of working closely with rap legend Nas to produce this album, expand on certain bars making waves on social media, and answer to the immediate questions of an impending follow-up to this project.
The episode closes with the hosts responding to comments, including many from last week's episode about Lowkey's lackluster reception of 'Her Loss' and the general desire to see more growth from Drake in subsequent releases.

I think with 'It was written' and 'Nastradamus' his production became more pop, like he was trying to make an album that appealed to a mass market, but it was a diluted version of who he was in a sense. You has songs like 'Nas is like' but nothing else significant. Then eventually he found his way again. I think the beef with Jay awakened something in him, then he went on a run will solid albums, and classics again.
@thelordofpainandsuffering8480
I won't say this album is the greatest achievement of his career, nowhere near but in recent years you might have a point. Nonetheless, the greatest criticism that I heard about Nas was his beat selection in his past albums before the pandemic. Hit-boy smashed that out of the window and he revived and transformed an old hip-hop giant back into life with the recent albums they have done together, seeing another rap legend doing this at this level won't be replicated anytime soon.

5:05 through 5:17 mark is so spot on for any producer that still loves traditional music making Also, 7:05 mark shows that staying true to making great music while being yourself is the key to qualitt music remaining relevant in this microwave era...because great music is timeless, and others who rejected it more than likely felt these beats were out of style and the listeners don't feel that way at all..and of course, there was some rappers who it may not have been their style so they're excluded

KD3 might be a top 5 in Nas' discography. No one ever agrees with 2 picks of mine BUT I Am might be his most well rounded album after It Was Written. Untitled is Nas at his most creative. We talk about his concepts but he did it fantastically on that album and I think ppl just missed it. Fried Chicken & Project Roach are masterful. I'd go It Was Written, Illmatic, I Am, Untitled, & KD3. Life Is Good almost makes the cut.
