Hit harder and faster with this drill. This will help you not only get more power on your shot but als help you score more. Hitting on the goal seems easy however using this exercise you will get better shots and get maximum power!
I played for 35 years. Thanks for your time and the video. One of the parts of this that is not really explained and - I think this comes from people who are quite natural at striking, and that they find it relatively easy to hit - is feet position, placement, location, and by relation ball location in relation. And then by extension the strike being straight, undercutting for height, or opening wrists to allow slicing to the right/up. Many people who can do these things have reached that skill by practise, or by natural ability. But for people who don't have that, working on the mechanics can help. I also think that height of player has to be adaptive, so taller players may need an adapted method, and I think standard stick length works best for people within a certain height range. I think your direct ball into D and shoulders pointers are correct, but I think in many cases, people take the ball wider due to a defender being within the area of direct entry to D. Peeling to the attackers right takes them away from the static defender, and at pace opens up the striking chance. Anyway - thanks for your time and video!

Here's a HUGE tip that makes a significant difference to hitting the ball : keep your head still. I.e. don't let it bob up and down. Keep your eyes focussed on the ball as you go to strike so as to keep your head level. If you bob up and down you are effectively hitting a target that is moving in several dimensions... not easy.

your videos are great and very helpful, how about doing a series of goal scoring tutorials where you have a single defender pressuring you to see how you can eliminate them...keep up the great work
This is awesome. How would the approach change on the left side of the circle? Receive with a reverse stick to tomahawk or the same kind of motion but cones are behind your feet with the ball coming from the right for a strong stick shot?
@@rajahsary7187 u mean the concave part just above your hook or in the hook? Because there are sticks that have them. The concave part above the hook helps with dragflicks. But there are still great dragflickers that never used a stick with the concave above the hook. Personally I had it for a long time but I prefer the ones without the concave.
hey hertz, im lately trying to improve as a striker and noticed, that i have to work on hitting the ball while its moving. If u may please explain the right technique in a future video.
@@perabutangaraja303 if you can make space with a move or with a propper receive of the ball then yes. If there is no space you could use your body to protect the ball and then shoot with a closer grip in a motion where you quickly turn to give yourself more space.
@phenom not at all we struggle just to get a team currently I'm playing at school but the is no progress ;I wish I could be part of a club but it's highly expensive😭
When shooting you want to ball to be on the ground, rarely do you see the ball raised in international level hockey when shooting (unless drag flicking)
