Hey Hey Guys, My B-24 Liberator has just been delivered by the DPD Courier so here is my first look. Make sure you check out my Hasegawa Liberator Review and the B-17 Kit comparisons
Haha, yeah, as Pete alludes to below, my disappointment comes from the fact i'm currently building 5 D-Day themed dioramas. I'm so happy with this kit that I can't wait to start it but yeah, that could interfere with my build schedule. Also! Love "Tamigawa" 😂
This is a hit for me, looks very well designed and put together and almost certainly different future versions, I would expect a D and J model in the future and expect an RAF versions like they did with the B-17.
I recently bought this one myself, an outstanding kit and very representative of the very good standards being achieved by Airfix these days. It's on my 'to do' pile as we speak (what dedicated modeller doesn't have a steadily increasing heap of cool models waiting construction?). Thanks for the break-down, see you on the other side of the build.
@@baanibarnes9711 I'm about 20% of the way through the build and am thoroughly enjoying it. Keep getting pulled away on non modelling projects though sadly 🙄 I'm glad the review was helpful 😃👍🏻
Ah really? Same! My Dad bought me the PBY version and I recently restored it using the extra parts from the Hasegawa kit and some after market decals! I agree. This one looks loads better!
Most likely. Eduard usually jump all over areas like that. It wouldn't surprise me if they were in cahoots haha. We'll manufacture the problem so you can manufacture the solution! I've heard that the guns are wrong too! Apart from that though, it looks awesome and I can't wait to start.
Yeah I've noticed that Airfix stopped doing crew. I don't use them unless it's an old tool kit with no cockpit detailing. Much faster than scratch building haha. I suspect someone will fill that gap with a 3D printer before long!
I've a couple of techniques depending on the kit. If there's a lot of clear parts that are quite fiddly (German WW2 bombers for instance) I'll buy a mask set. Easier stuff I'll mask myself using a sharp scalpel to cut away the excess and sometimes for really small stuff and where I'm using acrylic paint, I'll use a cocktail stick to scratch the paint away. Hope that helps!
