Can we just talk about how Momo can portray a psychopathic character? She's so good, with that evil smirk and smile plastered on her face. Mina being Momo's victim got me goosebumps, look at how good at handling her expression she is. It totally showed how terrified she was. Great performance🙌🏻
Momo was the only one who did all different. Danced with a girl, showed a same sex couple, an abusive relationship and didn't play around with love in some cutesy or mature style. She told a side she probably knew no one would tell. She criticized a lot of things Korea does and she paid the price by getting the last place. But this? This is a masterpiece. She's expressing a whole story by DANCING, not acting some part or using a lot of makeup and costumes. She didn't have a dance break to satisfy the judges like most of the others did. Her expressions, movements and the way she connects with the song, that was it. That's what a real dancer should be capable of, showing emotions through his body. And once again the media breaks Momo's confidence by saying that she's not good enough to win something in which she was PERFECT.
_damn right...and some people have nerves to say mina is better than her...i am a dancer myself, and i even do ballet...i can clearly see that momo is on whole another level than mina!..mina is always stiff and awkward...and by the way, not all the time elegance is needed when dancing...lols!
Bruh, this is so intense Mina's scared facial expression mixed with Momo's psychotic facial expression, and the dancing, I feel like there's some deep message about it 😔✊
I guess this dance is the tragedy of an abusive relationship in Korea years ago. A guy was madly in love with a girl and he locked her in a room. That's why Momo pushed Mina into the box. The girl contacted the police for help, and it was even all over the news, but no one did anything to help her. Eventually the girl died due to starvation and abuses. At the end of the dance a bunch of people came out covering their eyes pretending they cant see anything, that symbolizes the neglect of the society towards this incident. While the paint of their faces symbolizes the sin and responsibility on each of them. Yes indeed, Momo ( the guy) is the murderer in this case. Yet the dance wants to convey the message that the society indirectly killed the girl and should bear responsibility as well.
Its been 5 years and I still cannot get over the fact that this performance was last place. Just look at the emotions and facial expressions and just everything portrayed by Momo and Mina.
@@hafsa1698 dancing is about using your body to portray an emotion or idea, obviously if they danced without using facial expressions and have a :| face the entire time its going to look very awkward. so in theory they *did* do "enough dancing"
@@xjenzy5623 Dancing, especially contemporary pieces require technique as well, and anyone familiar with classical styles would recognize their technique was very novice, and not very good.
@@libfit9068 their technique wasn't extraordinary but it wasn't terrible... nonetheless i still believe they should have won because technique isn't the only thing u should take into account -from a dancer myself

people saying that this dance doesn’t have hard choreo probably haven’t danced or tried contemporary before. she had technique in there that isn’t ‘easy’ and her kick into the side stag leap was great. this dance was so so good and the story was beautiful. like honestly g down and look up how to dance before attacking them!!!!
@@daytodye1065 The song that was used was an ost of '50 Shades of Grey' but the meaning of their performance is different from the movie. It happened in real life in SK. Just search it somewhere in the comment section. Someone explained it a long time ago.
You will know how smart momo is when mostly dancers in the show do this comcept must have some break dance who korean think its great(its great but its overused) i think momo the only one who really did a story with the concept.
hey hey Also, momo and mina conveyed the story well with those moves and face expressions. i just dont get it why the judges didnt see this as masterpiece like i do (i dont even know much abt contemporary dance(?) but this stage somehow makes me emotional idk y xD)
hey hey exactly!!! The theme of that week is "love" and most of them do cute lovey dovey, or sexy couple dance meanwhile momo decide to do "dark concept" like this.. Like no one even think about this kind of performance
아기맹수StanLilCub It’s simple. They didn’t understand. Or at least, they pretended to not understand. Momo brought on that stage mental illness, a toxic relationship, two girls dancing and a “creepy” concept. These things don’t go well together in Korea. Not when we’re talking about a girl, especially if the girl we’re talking about is Momo, whose figure is pretty innocent since she’s in Twice.
this is such a emotional presentation. the emotions portrayed by Mina are so real, you can really tell she's desesperated. I love the details that while she's dancing with Momo, it looks like she's analyzing and trying so hard to escape the box she's trapped in (like when she throws her leg high, looks like she's looking for an exit on the ceiling). She dances with Momo because because she is obliged to have a "relationship" with her to find a weakness in that allows her to escape. While Mina and Momo are dancing in sync, I noticed that while Momo dances exaggeratedly in the front and drag all the public's attention, Mina is in the background, faded away, slowly throwing herself to the floor (unlike Momo , who throws himself on the floor abruptly) and pretends to be stabbing herself and soon after, when Momo goes further completely insane and dominated by the feeling of happiness for finally having the object of her obsession in hands, Mina finally dies. The public's attention is never on the victim, but on the abuser; we are the public and mostly of us only notice that something is wrong with Mina when Momo panics, and still we pretend we haven't seen anything, a blind eye to the situation, because even those who haven seen that Mina needs to be save wouldn't do anything. I like the detail of "society" (those people in black clothes) just keep walking with their arms in front of their eyes while passing by Mina's dead body, like she was nothing, but still they interact with Momo, the abuser, and "mark" her with the black tin but still she's able to follow the line and being free to just keep living her life normally without having to worry with what she have done with Mina and the justice she deserved. It's been years and I'm sure to say: Momo is a freaking genius.
awesome analysis 👍 another thing i want to add is in around 0:51 (the part where mina's sitting in the box and momo's dancing outside of it), mina begins shivering and hugging her knees to her chest, which may mean that she's in the first few stages of desperation to escape that was a small detail i noticed, but all in all i loved your analysis and explanation!
Damn, this is huge! Such an amazing analysis. I love this performance because it shows that Momo and Mina are such amazing dancers and somehow this explanation makes it more satisfying.
Mina is an amazing dancer. Not only are her moves elegant and freeflowing, her facial expressions sell the performance. She is just an all around talented and hardworking performer, and if she had gone a different way and just focused solely on dance and choreography, she would've likely still been a huge success. In any other Idol Group Mina would be the Main Dancer without a doubt, and we'd all accept that at face value. The fact that Momo can outshine Mina speaks volumes. Their chemistry here, though, that's a joy to behold.
Hands down the best dancers in Twice. They don’t only utilise their bodies in dancing, they also utilise their facial expressions to really tell a story and express emotions.
I love how this was from 4 years ago and people still couldn't get over the fact this performance did not win. Because, yeah... it should have won. I wonder what the criteria was?
and I'm still here, watching this performance hundred times. I don't know, but this video really gives me goosebumps whenever I decipher the heavy and deep meaning of it. This is unique among the other performances they had. The concept is so beautiful and when u watch it for the first time, you'll be amazed by how they convey the dark definition of love through their choreography. Just wow momo and mina!
@@babibird4083 I don't really remember the full details, I only saw it on a comment(that I cant find anymore). Its basically about a guy in Korea who had an abusive relationship with his girlfriend. I think he tortured and hurt her until she died. I think(from what I remember)the media or the government covered it up because it was so brutal? That's why the dancers with the black and white were at the end. I'm pretty sure I got something wrong, but that's the overall summary. If you listen at 0:10 theres a radio/audio clip of the news reporter talking about the story. I'm not very good at korean, but the reporter mentions girlfriend and man. It also implies some sort of murder/torture. Hope this helps!
apparently this is portraying a real story of an abusive relationship that occurred years ago in Korea. I think they aren't clapping because that was a real life tragedy and it seemed inappropriate to clap
i remember one of the judge said that she almost died because she forgot to breath during the whole performance. Honestly i can relate. Every freaking time I watched this masterpiece. It just sucks all your oxygen out of you and demand your full attention. I don't remember how many time I have watched it, but it has always left me speechless. On the other hand, it also pisses me off because I remember how unappreciative the public was. Yes it did not have any fast breaking movements but the tension you feel the whole performance is enough to blow your mind. I will never ever shut up about this one of a kind masterpiece. Momo was still a rookie at that time, was still recovering from the trauma of that damn survival show 16, but she persisted and co-choreographed this magnificent routine. Also sooo much praise to Mina for playing the supportive role, her acting was on point. Frankly, I don't think it would have the same effect if Momo had choosen another partner, or someone from the opposite gender.
Momo losing because of this stage was so fucking ironic. Audience proved that just because they don't understand what it means it's not beautiful. Same way people reacted to the real story of this fucking beautiful performance. People being blind to the fucking truth.
@@jenna_maria its actually a true story in korea, this guy kidnapped his girlfriend and didnt fed her then got suffocated, he buried her in a suitcase, she was found by the police afterwards dead then the guy was arrested a few days later... Everything in this performance from the song choice to the dance moves to the props down to the smallest of detail was symbolism and a story. It was the representation of the story of a healthy relationship that had become toxic and dangerous because of one person in the equation. The first dance move of rocking back and forth was basically a scale - balance. They had a healthy relationship of giving-and-taking initially, but when Momo's character bent onto Mina's back, lines and boundaries were crossed. Momo's character, consumed by her extreme emotions, had twisted her perception in such a way that she thought that she would lose Mina if she didn't push her lover into the cage. She wanted to control and possess her lover. The song choice, particularly, was significant in the entire performance. Dwell into the lyrics and you'll see how the intensity of the instrumentals helped in the delivery of the emotions in the storyline. Beyonce's deep breath as the black curtains dropped was right on cue; it was Mina, the victim, taking her last breath. The volume of the deep breath shows the significance of Mina's character and how her death would affect Momo's character very, very deeply. The paint symbolised how Momo's character will forever be haunted and tainted by the fact that it was her extremist behaviour and actions that had caused the death of the one she loved the most. Walking figures with hands over their eyes was society in ignorance; oblivious to the severity of violence and abuse in a relationship. Society continues to move forward, blind to the fact that such events do take place and that the dominance and control of males in a relationship should not be deemed as the ways of a 'real man', but the symptoms to a toxic relationship that could prove to be dangerous. Perhaps why this stage had only received 140+ votes was because the viewers could not grasp the meaning behind the entire performance or they just could not see the painful truth that society, too, was to blame for the cultivation of such relationships. After all, the truth was never as pretty as a lie. In this performance, you must not ONLY see, you must also feel. Also, take note of Mina's character and her portrayal of desperation and fear. The extremism of Momo's character and the ignorance of society were the main themes of this performance. I enjoyed the performance very much and hope to see more of such intensity from Momo (kudos to Mina too!) :)
No problem; I just wanted to make the picture clearer for those who have difficulty in interpreting it. Momo and Mina are amazing in their respective roles and they pulled this performance off together really, really well :) 140+ points is lesser than what they deserve.
Omg I legit had goosebumps when I watched this and then I read your comment. I'm new to Twice and have started binge watching their performance and thank you so much for your explanation! This helped me understand it so much more
Momo’s facial expressions .. especially at the beginning where Momo and Mina look into each other’s eyes it’s just so fucking intense I could not imagine doing a dance like that with one of my friends.. insane just insane
This is so emotional and touching, Momo and Mina both expressed the feeling of being terrified by love, the desperation, the sorrow of parting. Their body moves, their facial expression everything was on point, i'm so proud of Momo and i think that's her best stage so far!
Art is supposed to challenge what is wrong and raise questions. Art is supposed to express feelings, emotions, and experiences. An art piece might make you uncomfortable, but it's doing it's job, it'll make you think and make you question yourself and your environment. Don't get me wrong, I love high energy dance performances, but this performance gave me goosebumps.
+Polish Blink oh yeah. i read the comment too fast lol. so it goes to : It WOULD'NT won if it were in America. and : Korean aint already. lmao this is so awkard tho. and my mother language isnt English too, so although there were so many differences in grammar, i didn't realize. anw thank you for answering my stupid question.
yeah i am bitter the emotional dance who voiced out heavy issue like domestic violence get less votes than thos humping to the floor dance.but those viewers in studio who can vote mostly fangirls so yeah
Unfortunately the voters are being bias. I mean I am a Momo bias, but the reason I like her so much IS because she's a talented dancer, so as for the votes go, I'm sure people are voting for their bias regardless of the performance. Which shouldn't be right, it should be about the prior Nance as a whole, not just because of personal opinion of the style of dance.
+Diah Sari their performance is about domestic violence. The voice in the first few seconds is a reporter saying "a girlfriend that is locked up is now found" or something like that
realist momo participated in many things related to dance, for example she participated in the team of the best dancers of korea and she was part of it with mina
Can I ask what kind of dance this is? Is this Modern or Contemporary? Because I want to use this video for my presentation in PE... And Momo is my bias... And I'm gay...

i guess they were to provocative for korean and their standards: two girls, toxic relationship, mental illness ..... all of these issues are not taken seriously in korea and she had the courage to criticise that !! no wonder it didn't get much votes korean are so close minded and they did exactly what she showed, they stayed blinded.
@@peterpanic9141 whats wrong with that tho its not just a performance it shows a relationship that really happens in real life and korea should be more open minded about these kind of stuffs
They didnt get the point because of how contemporary it was. Korea is not as close minded as you may think now even if it is different from america. The most certain reason is mostly because compared to other idols, momo and mina showed mpre emtion based dancing, while the others did hard core pop dance and the audiebce may have not taken to contemporary dancing
@@noumnomnom its true tho. Korea is very backwards and they need to change. *Most of them are anti-feminist movement. *Most of their dramas, although fun to watch, are very sexist. *Most Koreans are not open to the idea of Gender and Development and LGBTQA++. And that was just to name a few. I love Korea, kdrama, and kpop. Its just that, I am not blinded by facts. And I hope Koreans will be more open minded in the future.
i guess the story ran too deep for the voters to understand? i'm not saying she should've won but i can't believe she only got 141. when i watched it live i literally had goosebumps, it's an incredible performance. she's not just dancing but delivering art. the fvk is 141 votes!
I think the Voters were a lot more harsh this time around as not many people got votes over 150 as last weeks genre pretty much everyone did if not very close... that's what i think though, but we will have to see what the votes are like next week :) She did very well though!
This dance is truly a work of art. Unlike the other choreographies (no hate to the other dancers, they all did great) this dance displayed a story of something that happens in the real world, which is a toxic and abusive relationship. Momo represents the psychotic ex who locks Mina in a room and murders her. It's a real issue that happens every single day and it is horrifying. It plays off of emotions of anger, fear, and heartbreak and both of the dancers did an amazing job. Momo plays the role perfectly, her evil menace at the end, and so does Mina, you can see the fear in her eyes as she is being locked up. This dance, it doesn't attempt to appeal to the judges by playing off of a lighthearted aesthetic like cute, badass, or sexy. It's dark, dreadful, and terrifying. As a dancer I really appreciate the artistry and depth behind this choreography.
This video is just INSANE. I am watching it over and over again. EXPLANATION (just my point of view) : The man on the radio says "a 20year old guy has locked his girldriend to death". The girls are lovers, and have a relationship. When they have their back on each other, that's the balance, an equilibre in their relationship. But momo doesn't keep the balance. She took the advantage because she loves her too much, wants to keep her for herself and locked her in the cage. The bandages are like keeping her prisoner(you can see a link with 50shades of grey too, because of the song, the bandages, the relationship about domination). Then the girl kills herself because she couldn't take it anymore. At that moment the breath of the Beyonce is perfect showing the last breath of the girl and the helpless's feeling of Momo. The sheet is red because of the death. Momo wears black because she represents the bad. The people are the society. They are in black and white because they are bad and good. They cover their eyes because they are acting as if they don't see what happened. The camouflage on momo represents her sin. Or we could say that she becomes a member of the society, because they all have thoose fingerprints. Then they walk in front the body as if it doesn't exist. Momo returns in the society like nothing happened, she is a part of the society. But then she stops and look at us like I know that you know what I did. Like a warning, as a spectator is to never let that happen again.. Her expressions were really amazing, when she was crazy in love, laughing, crying. I don't really know her but she could defenetly try art dance in theater or actress
Had this show been a physical theatre contest, there is no doubt she would have won. Theme wise this is incredible, and the moves really portray the emotions and actions in the "character"'s relationship.
The best part is the focus on Feeldog's face. He knows how amazing it actually was that he couldn't close his mouth. I bet almost everyone was like that.
The fact that this performance portray the most controversial and most complicated plot and none of those people gets it!! its so powerful two great dancer delivering a toxic relationship and the minds of those people who voted are so ordinary for them to understand this.. they could've won in a different platform but not in korea when a lot of things specially homosexuality is a taboo and toxic relationship are being blinded coz were asians ,,ridiculous!!
@Ffff 5edg no. It's about a toxic relationship. Looks like it is representation of a real life incident in S.Korea where a man madly in love with a girl captured her and put her in a room. She cried for help but no one came. Eventually she died from starvation and abuse. The police arrived late and the people acted surprised but didn't care
“being blinded coz were Asians,,,ridiculous” what does that mean?? Also, I get what you’re trying to say but it’s just coming off hateful and protective. It’s a dancing competition, most of the time they put more heavy emphasis on technique rather than artistry
1:45 - 1:50 Mina's part. That little detail should be noticed. This is really great. The emotions, the choreography, the meaning, the story. I mean, love isn't just about those butterflies-in-stomach-and-rainbow-like-feelings (which can be seen from other performances). This two was smart enough to show us one of the darkest meaning of love and if this hadn't amazed the judges, I don't know why others' did.
Momos dances are so dark, her dances are amazing by themselves but to add Mina was just brilliant. This is why she is the best dancer in my opinion, by the way Lisa said she loved her dancing.
Its clear that the audience as well as the judges simply didn't understand the concept and the message the choreo was conveying. Its sad since this honestly gave me goosebumps
Ya'll let's be honest here we clown momo for being 'unsmart' as a joke but when it comes to dance Momo is so smart. In my opinion she is one of the best girl group dancers in the third generation because of her story's in her dance.
The reason why she was unsmart was because when she was in school someone pushed her into a walk and momo started bleeding and said she became less smart from that day
Leonor Madeira Pinto Nunes it’s from an episode on knowing bros, she said that someone from her elementary school ended up pushing her when she was running, and she hit her head and bled. She also said that her mom said she ended up being a little slower after the incident
Momo is great at dancing "modern dance". Really. But this performance was so underrated, one year later I still can'tforgive it. It gives me chills everytime...
Same Americans are so much more tolerant when it comes to controversial things when it comes to controversial things in Korean standards but it's normal here.
momo and mina are some of the best dancers in kpop. they have shown versatility in their dances (ballet, hip hop, contemporary) unlike most kpop dancers.
THE EMOTION FROM THIS STAGE GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS!! Momo just showed us how you dance with a partner with chemistry and at the same time didn't outshine her performance, and both of them complete each other. SHE OWNED HER STAGE. Mina was there to complete her and her best partner! Seriously the people at the show was so biased. I watched both Momo and Ten performance and TBH THE ROOKIES DID THE BEST. They deserve better votes! Especially this stage! The dancing, the acting and even the feeling was on point!! Mina and MOMO did the best so far for me!! Momo portrayed an obsessive person so crazily great and Mina the victim look so helpless and scared. The best for me and I enjoy this stage. I NEED MORE 2 MINUTES IS NOT ENOUGH. DAMN IT!!!
seriously ! something's so wrong with the audience Ten and Momo both showed great skills and got low scores I just don't get it , it's probably cuz no one talked about their skills before so people underestimate them
It's so unfair for them. In my opinion, Ten and MoMo have the best performances. They deseve to have higher score. WHAT WRONG WITH THE AUDITION. ARE THEY BLIND ???????
As a contemporary choreographer I think she did wonderfully and I honestly think this style fits her better than some of the other styles She is able to convey a deeper meaning with her dances but I think that it's also more of an American style that people in Korea aren't necessarily more familiar with which is why I think she got so low of a score
#teudongieprado contemporary dance its a style of expressive dance with a combination of modern dance ballet and jazz lyrical. a contemporary dancer strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements
This is how I interpreted the dance. This represents a toxic relationship. I guess between two girls. Momo is the controlling one. I think they chose the song “Crazy in Love” to represent Momo’s obsession with Mina. Being so in love she trapped her in a relationship or the box. When they both dance in sync, it’s Mina willing and playing along because she has to. They are also out of sync being they don’t belong together. The black cloth and Mina lying is either, Momo loved her too much or Mina ran away. The black paint is the representation of evil.
Uncommon Name it’s about the suwon torso incident, Kim sunny was walking home and she was taken my her ex boyfriend and dismembered into 180 pieces, before she died she called the police telling them where she was countless times but they where 13 hours late,
they was also this case where this girl had a stalker who had fallen in love with her. he kidnapped her and held her hostage. eventually she died. the ending has to do with the fact society turned a blind eye to what he did. the dance has so many different meanings
@@taebreeze7349 You just jumbled 2 stories together, the Torso Incident is a different incident to Kim Sunny one. In Suwon Torso incident the woman was grabbed off of a street by a random man, she called the police when he went away for a bit, but the police was incompetent, asking too many stupid questions and arriving 13 after the call, when the girl was already dismembered into 180 pieces.
i didn't really understand it too...but i thought the dance and concept was very good! very passionate and acting out sich expressions! was the performance kinda about a maniac who kept a victim captive, killed them and regrets it at the end...? hahs i'm sorry for not really getting it XD
I hope twice can have a powerful choreography to their next album or songs. I'm really looking forward to it since I'm a fan of them. Please, JYP let them(twice) especially momo show their/her real talent. I'd really like to see them dancing heavy choreography.
You know they don’t need such a powerful choreograph to confirm that they can dance very well. ESP Momo. Dancing is focusing on technic and the way they moves in each performance not because of strong choreography. Plus YES OR YES is their fasten and hardest choreograph and they slays so much not just YOY but their other song too they simply slays it. In shorts, they’re born to SLAY.
Jp Internas i would love to see them having girl crush concepts w/ powerful choreograpies but they've been so busy and they are still busy by now, at this moment all i want is for them to have some time for their families and selves because that's what they deserve. i, personally, want to see them dancing powerful choreohrapies but i hope the choreograpies won't tired them that much and i hope they'll enjoy the dance. and i also want jype to acknowledge chaeng and dahyun's rapping skills more. give them more lines and give them a fair line distribution. ps: I LOVE THEIR CONCEPT SO MUCH TOO!!!!!!! AHSFDGSHA WHAT EVER CONCEPT THEY'D CHOOSE I KNOW THEY'LL LOOK GOOD IN IT
Momo just did that. She not korean but she did something that just happened in korea. She did something that no one ever expect. She did something that no ever think when its love theme. Thats my girl momo❤❤❤❤
The twice dance line is good! They are all slowly showing their talents. I think this performance deserved way more than 141. I like the meaning behind it too. This gave me goosebumps
The story is about abusing relationship but the public chose to ignore it (hence the backdancers keep backing away) until shes gone then she realises she has nothing and become one those mindless drones
+hallyu fan its abusing relationship (the cage) but the people around them ignore it (the backdancers) when she really gone then she realize she have nothing and disintegrate into ash (the black mark on face)
It was held in Korea, they aren't ready for this performance . They taught they are portraying a same sex relationship but it was actually a toxic relationship . If she chose a guy to be her partner, she could've won . As we all know, Korea is still way longer . They can't still accept things like this and we hope they can in the future .
Still she dance well and potrayed a good story,The choreo wasnt strong but I can easily understand the story,This should get over 150 in my opinion, there was other dances where i was bored asf and they still get over 150
The dance and performance of MOMO and MINA were incredible. Contrary to what was presented in this episode, a tragic and sick love, what pity that many in the audience did not have time to realize the idea and the emotions that this performance wanted to go through. We observed this with the delay of the palms at the end of the presentation.
I’m a dancer, so I can tell how excellent they did. Emotion, expression ,Dance skill, even the music are perfect. As a matter of fact, this performance is the most difficult and great, although others did well ,too. The story really caught my heart! Good job my girls!
OMFG THIS IS ART. Dancing is meant to be like this. No words, your movements express your feelings. The audience feels the emotions the dancer is conveying. Momo and Mina did very well, I have such a hard time believing they're just rookies. Momo especially; Jyp knew what he was doing when brought her back to join Twice.
+mOmOrIn 2 Mnet suck because they came up with this stupid idea of votes being decided by viewers. Dance performance should be judged by masters, not random people who might be biased toward other artists :
So 141. The theme "Love" doesn't have to be male & female dancing together or hip hop or romantic. It can be anything. I think Mimo is portraying "Psychotic Friendship Love" theme. If you watch the movie 'The Roommate" you will understand what I mean. Their performance are actually "Contemporary Drama" not dancing. Which viewers in Korea are probably not familiar with. Viewers need to watch "So You Think You Can Dance". A lot of awesome contemporary performance that they can watch there. Anyway good job MiMo.
their brain can't reach that level may be. 😈😈 most of comments are positive toward them but Korean brain just stuck on their fave without trying to be objective. idk
Ema Rifa'i I know right. I cry with the choreographer. MNET should change the format. The votes should be half judges half viewers. Viewers are not professional.
she deserves appreciation and more votes. In my opinion, this should've been ranked 2nd 3rd or 4th atleast. They showed art. Art which never had girls with revealing clothes twerking, it showed reality.
You know JYP was right to give them the "main dancer" title.. I swear this gives me chills.. despite almost watching it every day. The story they portrayed is just phenomenal.. Their acting was also on point, Momo as a psychopath gave me chills while I feel for Mina's place being the receiver of whatever Momo's obsession was w her... Hands down..
It's sad that this AMAZING performance got that few votes... this piece of art is telling a story behind yet people only vote for superficial performances when this one has a whole story...
YourМилк I do agree with you to some extent but contemporary or similar type of genres of dances aren't about having harder choreographies, so to me personally, I don't see having harder choreographies should be a justified reason on why the judges/audience gave her low points.
Elena Gutierrez Don't wanna be salty tho but Yugyeom from Got7 won Hit The Stage last year and if you compare his choreographies with Momo's, you'll see a big difference. I guess that's why she couldn't make it. A great story, yeah, pure emotions, no doubts but still wasn't enough for Hit The Stage. Hit the Stage is more than that.
There was too much focus on the story, which was executed brilliantly. Her facial expressions and acting was great too. But her choreography was lacking somehow, there's something missing, and there wasn't enough in it.
I still hope for MNET wakes up off this shit like this is just a popularity competition ... fans only vote for their biases blindly ... They should preduce a show like JTBC "Girl Spirit" where professionals and people who studies this can judge, not biased fans
well same goes with the other contenders. I mean Hoya wasn't the most popular member in INFINITE, Feeldog's group is underrated (I mean let's be honest here some of you doesn't even know Bigstar), U-kwon is not that popular in Block B (as far as I know, not a fan) and I think that pretty applies to some other idols in this show (not all though). I'm not against Momo or something, cause I'm starting to admire her through this show...It's just that I don't think most of the audience are actual fans of these idols and I read somewhere that the audience for this ep have more male than female ones.
Twice is popular but Momo is not the one who has the most fans of the group. She has more international fans. And their fan are mostly males. Also, if you look at the competitors, can you see hyoyeon, like SNSD of course they have more than than twice. And others are boy group members, they have alot of fan girls. They are known to be more active than fan boys.
+Rebekah Ivy It's supposed to be a competition between dancers but ended up being a popularity contest. This is widely known and I'm surprised you didn't understand that..
it's been 6 years and I'm still not over how they put this dance in last place. the passion through telling the story of a toxic and abusive relationship. a side of love no one has the guts to tell and they showed through amazing dancing and emotions
