So I had a fun new issue with my hitachi that I came back from holiday and the remote doesn't register. But it's not the batteries, or even the controller, the tv refuses to respond to it, except for if you press home and up and down for a few seconds after turning on. So my tv is now basically run by my xbox only..
I have this TV. It’s turned itself off and on again but I understand that may have been resolved. I kept losing connectivity on wireless, had to reset TV and do reinstall several times, and now two months since purchase, I cannot even connect it at all. Been through support, even had software upgrade via USB stick and still an issue. Now having to wait for a hardware repair. Not a small tv and mine is mounted 6ft up on the wall so it has not been easy to plug in usb sticks or get serial numbers when required. Totally disappointed in this TV, never been able to use the full functionality, wish I had contacted tech support sooner, instead of trying to find a solution myself - which hasn’t worked, because now I am stuck with this TV, waiting for a hardware repair - which I hope does not fix the issue so I can return it and get a better TV rather than be stuck with this current dumb TV. Would not recommend. Cross your fingers the hardware doesn’t resolve the issues so I can take it back to Argos and get a better brand.
9 have noticed that on big screedns steaming often has issues from any of the streaming services. i went back to 4k uhd physical discs because my 100inch showed issues alot, now i dont get them. i do think streaming is not there yet maybe a few more years.
@@th3bmc no hassle thanks for your reply. My last update was 2020 its working perfectly few flaws but playstore stopped and said contact manufacturer. Nobody to contact in relation to it
This tv is a pile of shit, my exact model failed after 14 months, lines appeared on the bottom for a few weeks till eventually the whole screen failed with lines all over the place and constantly blinking screen not only that the tv would always reset when ever you changed source and loose its epg freeview stations in the process, i chucked it out...well not before i gave it a fecking good punch heap of crap, bought a 55" qled samsung which was 3 times the price of the Hitachi but difference is night and day, should of bought Samsung before the Hitachi as i have a 32" samsung in the back bedroom now at 15 years old and still going strong.
This same issue happened to me but just after 2 years, when the guarantee had expired. I kept putting up with the flickering until the screen started to go black like black ink slowly spilling over the screen. It's a common problem with Hitachi's. Word of advice: do NOT buy this brand. Simple.
I bought the newer version of this tv just as a cheap tv to go with my Xbox series x and PS5 and damn the colour and contrast are all over the place it looks more like 360p than 4k I got no idea what's going on it's annoying because I don't no how to fix it
I have the same issue with my Sony Android TV in living room so that's a issue with the prime video android TV app, it's gotten a bit better but is still pretty sluggish but it's only the prime video app and other apps are much better like netflix and youtube. Also there is a google store and google movies and such you just have to add them to that menu and I believe there is a way of getting into the main menu which shows all the apps but I can't remember how to get into that, it was so much easier before the update. Keep checking for updates as they definitely help, when I first got my android TV it was crashing so much but after 3 updates it started running so smooth but then Android 9 update arrived and my TV started being sluggish but once again a few updates later and it's running smoothly again so I suggest the same with your Hitachi. As a note for when it does crash press and hold the power button on the remote and the TV will turn itself off, you don't need to unplug the TV. This might take 20 seconds to do though and you have to be pointing the remote at the IR receiver on the TV which on my TV has such a weird narrow field of view lol.
@@th3bmc you sure about that? According to Hitachi's website and the user interface I saw in this video that is running Android TV. I've got my eye on the same model but the smaller 43 inch and it is most definitely Android TV as that's the main reason I've got my eye on it.
Just don't do it, simple's. Even though it's listed as Andriod TV on the US Hitachi site without the (u) at the end of the model number it's most certainly running a cut down version of webOS. Specs listed on a lot of 3rd party reviewers state webOS also such as below. www.testproductreview.com/2020/02/hitachi-4k-tv-review.html?m=1 Having ran LG TV's for years you can see the major similarities in some UI aspects. There isn't any way to sideload apps on this tv or get into any maintenance screen. Usually easy to find on Andriod TV's. Hitachi do have Andriod OS TV's available. But this isn't one of them.
@@th3bmc After some digging there seems to be 2 versions of the hk6100, 1 has Android TV while the other does not and for some reason on the website it has a w at the end of the none Android TV version which is rather confusing. It's weird as the Android TV model all seem to be black while the other version always seems to be white. I've contacted the store and Hitachi about it and hopefully hear back from them soon. I'm in the uk so I get the EU version of the site when I first go on it but have gone to the us site as well to check for differences.
I've not had the TV for over 2 years, but from what I remember the movie mode was the best but not the brightest, the sepia like tone was a bit strong so may need to be brought up a few notches but that was the most colour accurate mode and removes all processing which isn't needed if attached to a HDMI device.
