I bid/bought a mint SR903 about 1 year ago for ~$150 (delivered)...with the matt black wood case. About 6 months ago, I found another for bid and bought it for ~$140 (delivered). The second was not as clean, but still in great shape. I cleaned them both and used De-oxit/F5 where necessary. I also wrapped both cases with glossy burled walnut vinyl; they really look premium with this wrap. Lastly, I upgraded the rubber/plastic feet with aluminum feet (about $20 per set on AliEx). Both units sound absolutely terrific. Cannot believe I was able to snag both units at these prices, given their performance and EXC condition. These Hitachi's are truly unsung heroes. Class G perfection. These beauties are definite keepers in my book.
A swell receiver. I got mine in August of 1979 at Tech Hifi in NYC for $360. Still use it as my main amp. Mine is labeled Class-G and not Dynaharmony. Offering a lot more reserve power than other 50wpc receivers at that time. It has a very good FM tuner and (with its twin DC power supplies) sound is clear and clean to ridiculously high listening levels. The volume knob goes well past the twelve o'clock point (where most other receivers reach full power). It's light, weighing around 23 lbs. Playing it several hours at rather high volume levels and the top is barely warm. Got all the controls I needed including bidirectional dubbing. Use my Ohm model L speakers with this receiver since 1979 and have added Ohm H speakers too. Also have used EPI-100 and 180 speaker systems with my SR-804. The sound is almost clinical. Music is articulate, clear without the "soft, warm" sound of a lotta late 1970's receivers. It will show off (or show up) your speakers attributes or deficiencies. Positively stunning with CD's. It's a boss receiver and very underrated today, fuhgeddaboudit.
@@riadlo1- Aux input. I don't use a DAC or Blue Tooth or any "computer" music sources. My source material comes from CD, LP's, open reel and cassette mediums. Interestingly, the SR-804 was sold in 1979 as a system with JBL-100 speakers at tech hifi in NYC. With my Ohm L speakers the output is loud enough to impress, if not annoy the neighbors. I did use a Marantz 2252B for a few months in 2015 while the SR-804 was in for a tune-up. But I like the SR-804 much better and switched back. The class-G amp adds a crispness to the sound, IMHO.
The Mac 6200 is definitely an impressive unit. Lotsa inputs and a healthy 75wpc power rating. A great power source for home audio systems. What speakers do you have with the 6200?@@anominous3895
