1937, Hitchcock encounters a new success, with “Young and Innocent”, using some elements from “The 39 Steps”.
In 1938, he shot “The Lady Vanishes”, maybe the most famous of his British films. Hitchcock tries new experiments and therefore proves that he truly is a technical master of Cinema.
He explains to Truffaut some of his tricks, like a chef giving his recipes. It’s not anymore a dialogue between a critic and his admired master, but a true exchange between too directors where everyone share experiences and intuitions.
