Hitlers secret gun positions. There were hundreds of them but only the Germans fully knew where all were and they were so important for the their WW2 defenses.

Love it when you bring us locations that haven't seen the touch of the graffiti vandals, like this one. And although Time, and Nature, have had some effect, it is still easy to imagine this location buzzing with activity, shouted orders, and the cracking thunder of Flak guns firing into the air. It is both astounding, and remarkable, when you realise that a Flak site like this one was repeated several times, not just around this one's nearby airfield, but around every airfield, ammo dump, command centre, and artillery site, over the whole of Europe. It is just mind numbing to think of the effort expended. Thank you both, again, for bringing these amazing places to us. Cheers to you all!

When you see these positions and then remember there was an air field here as well, this location had to be massive. These gun placements seem to be a little different from others I think. I agree with you on Eagle Eyes having more knowledge of WW2 history than most adults. The way he spotted the searchlight placement was great. Hope you weren’t to hard on him for scaring you lol. One of the bunker doors looked like it was a double door which open to each side to allow something large to enter the bunker. Very nice location.

Another unique location! I had no idea they stored their searchlights in protective bunkers, those large steel doors are massive! The effort after the war to go to all these locations and remove the weapons and ammunition must of taken years. I guess all the weapons were melted down and used for reconstruction efforts but what in the world did they do with all the ammunition! Thanks for taking us along with you! Stay safe and stay well!

I used to build models of the German tanks and vehicles. One of my favorites is the 88 flak gun. It was fun painting the vehicles and soldiers. It was fun building the WW2 tanks there were so many versions of the tanks and half-tracks. Just wish there was books detailing the bunkers I would have loved to build a model of a bunker. Impressed with the little rooms on the perimeter of the 88 mm MG position for the Geman soldiers to hide from enemy bombers when needed. Too bad the 410A was so flooded and you we unable to enter. The 409A with the single flat wall was vey interesting. Nice to see no grafitti. Ventilation tube did come in handy. Thank you for taking us inside HH and EE. Looking forward to P2.

As I've mentioned so many times before you are always so well prepared and you've researched you adventure so well we are the ones that benefit from it all. I'm sure Eagle Eyes by now is more than a little aware he is receiving an education about WWII that very few receive, and we are lucky enough to get a small portion of that knowledge. It appears that although this site has been stripped of artifacts it also hasn't been hit by the graffiti clowns. Please know Sirs I'll continue to get an education from you as long as possible. Not much shelter around the gun position. We’re the 88mm flak guns used for high altitude combat and the 20mm for lower flying aircraft? Nice to see no graffiti on the wall but the furniture in the one has to have you scratching your head as to what is going on lol. I love to see and hear Eagle Eyes and you messing with each other.

I'm not 100% sure but this might have been part of the Atlantic Wall coastal defence or maybe not. Either way it is very Interesting to see these WW2 nazi german bunkers still here today 77 years after WW2 ended in 1945. I would love it if it was possible for you & your children to visit & explore the Flak Towers that are located in Berlin & Munich in Germany. Apparently they are still there today. The current German government has said that the only way they can demolish the Flak Towers was to use very powerful explosives to blow them up because they were built as reinforced anti aircraft gun towers. But they haven't destroyed the Flak towers because the government was worried/concerned about the powerful explosions severely damaging other newer buildings nearby. I'm fascinated with history of WW2 i really am.

Hey my friend I may have a Nazi hone for sharping their knives its been in my family for a very long time. I have no clue where is come from its very old and has a Swastika on it. Since you are in Germany is there any way I could send you a picture of it so you could find out or not if its a Nazi sharping stone. Not say it is but I want your advice on it since you are German and in Germany. Thanks
