@Emanuelgamer 1313 Thanks once again, Emmanuelgamer 1313. The Constant has been an amazing character to play and I'm delighted you enjoy the game so much.
@@philiproschactor Wow, your performance in these games is really phenomenal. I'm new to them in the last few months and have really enjoyed this aspect as much as any other, if not more! Loved the roundtable discussion you and the other two leads had, too! Thanks for interacting with the fans.
@@maharajohn2 Ah thank you so much for your very kind words. It really means a lot to an actor when people like their performances. Yes the round table discussions have been so much fun for us all. I did an interview recently with a RU-vid channel called The Northern Nerdcast. Have a look at it if you'd like to? Also, next month David Bateson, Jane Perry, John Hopkins and myself are doing another round table with this very channel which should be fun. Thanks again for your very generous praise. Best wishes. Philip
@@philiproschactor I'm so excited and happy to have the privilege of this response from you, thank you so much! I really look forward to enjoying the recent and also upcoming interviews/roundtables you mention 😀 All the best outside of work, too! Strange times, it goes without saying-- but great art definitely helps us through it!
With Hitman 1 - 3 being bundled into one game with World of Assassination it would only be logical for them to upgrade the slideshow/in-game cutscenes from Hitman 2 and 3 to be of the same quality as Hitman 1's cutscenes. Otherwise there's a big gap in quality within one game
The mocap in this is phenomenal. You can see every little tell Diana has as she's trying to recover from the surprise and to disguise what a pressure point 47 is for her. Amazing!
Agreed. Not to mention, I love that "snooty" air Diana has about herself. I'd always envisioned her as rather "posh," and it thrills me to see that brought to life. I can totally see her turning her nose up to almost everyone she meets. Such a princess. xD
Oh, she's absolutely got a posh background and I don't imagine the control she has over whether someone lives or dies makes her very approachable. On a separate note, I love how this whole scene is such a fuck you to Erich Soders. If 47 has a pressure point, it's clearly Diana and vice versa. If Soders had just been a bit more humble and a bit more willing to look past his jealousy of 47's abilities, he would have seen a clear way to control both of them.
Especially since Soders knew them at the beginning, when they weren't as strong/established. Now (20 years later), it's a little harder to control 47 and Diana due to, well...we all saw what happened in Absolution, right? I mean, 47 leaves a swath of destruction from Chicago to South Dakota (and eventually a cemetery in England) all because, let's face it, DIANA TOLD HIM TO. While using 47 and Diana against each other is the easiest way to control both, I also see it as the quickest way to an early death. I don't see this ending well (because again, Absolution). And on that same note, I SERIOUSLY hope this Providence guy gets blown away. And I hope when he does, we get to see Diana's haughty little "smirk" once she realizes they've won.
A swath of destruction all over the US and UK. That's love, bitch. Also, I've noticed just now rewatching the clip that when Providence guy mentions how much they care for each other, he chuckles a tiny bit when he says "And vice versa." Like damn girl, even the secret cabal of kingmakers knows you wanna bone a clone.
Have you perchance ever watched the Absolution Full Disclosure vid here on RU-vid? It's a fascinating video overall, but there's a nifty little clip around the 36 minute mark that extends Victoria's opening monologue played during the Absolution title screen. The beginning of the trailer also shows what happens to 47 (in terms of his mental/emotional stability) after he's "shot" Diana (was edited out after some of the storyline concepts were changed in the later production stages of the game). I find the video to be very telling (and again, fascinating). Also, you should check out the two Hitman novels, if you haven't already (no worries-they're considered canon). The first one, in particular. The second novel is a little far-fetched and not quite as good. But the first Hitman novel is aces.
Fuck man how is it that movies today can not get IT LIKE THIS. These cinematic scenes are so intriguing and have such a way to build great character development. You can just sense the underlying tension in this. The last two Hitman movies have been bombs.
Because male actors are chosen by the size of their twitter account, and female actresses are chosen by who is willing to bang the director, or if they're LGBT then the size of their twitter account. No actual "acting" skills are required beyond that.
Michelle I adore them both. Even in airport scene 47 asks Diana "Why it is our problem?" Our. Jagskshsgskso. They are perfect team. *cough* ship it *cough*.
Yep, that's because she was no longer speaking on behalf of the ICA, she was giving her own personal opinion. It was only Diane this time who contradicted Edwards
One thing I have noticed about this Providence guy is the way IO have built his character. You can tell from how he is that is clearly someone who wields incredible power, someone dangerous, not to be crossed. He speaks softly because he knows he doesn't need to shout to get what he wants. And yet, there is an arrogance to him, an overconfidence. I've noticed throughout the cut scenes how often he does those little scoffing noises, while looking at the individual in front of him with barely masked derision. He's been hidden for a long time......but when 47 finds him, there will be nowhere to hide!
I'd agree with a lot of that, he's emotionally detached and apathetic his psyche profile is probably identical to 47's his mannerisms are both calculated and almost emulating emotions there is a lot of condesention in how he addresses others so likely his position was granted to him because of his intelligence, though I saw something in this scene that maybe not too many picked up on. Diana played him pretty hard, but subtly enough that it appeared he manipulated her into working for him. He is probably not the head of providence but likely the head of providence's security, a go between for those in charge and providence's assets (he's clearly in charge of the keybearers to providence's assets, and is far more in the know then other keybearers). Likely season 2 will focus on 47 facing off with the shadow client and a cat and mouse game between Diana using providence's head of security to uncover as much Intel on them by working for him. After all it's not her first time playing a long con game, though he's far more dangerous then Travis or Cayne who were easier to manipulate, the head of providence's security will most likely present her greatest challenge.
He does seem a bit overconfident. “We won a long time ago.” Sounds like the kind of guy who’s relaxed and sure of everything. Until something comes that wrecks it all.
damn this is so good you can see diana’s face when he brings up 47 she’s trying to hide that and the motion capture well captures it so well 👏👏 well done
I love how games usually surpass films in plot, storyline, acting, and the like. Keep Hitman to what it is, an exceptional experience where you get to be a part of the storyline. None of this film bs. Hollywood just screws up the narrative with dastardly actors and horrendous storylines that simply destroy the immense experience you get from the games. Absolution was the weakest link in the Hitman games, but even the that holds itself by a few margins above the films. I'm truly loving the new Hitman games, which deserve my money whole heartedly. Truly good times we live in.
I dont like Square Enix decided to reveal her face since Absolution. Diana always was a myterious voice behind the phone, working with 47, helping 47. I dont like her new voice as well.
Diana has been "revealed" since Contracts and Blood Money (retroactively and chronologically) and 47's training back in '99 in this game. if you look at the ending sequence, there is a very light diffuse of facial features and model shown. Use brightness, gamma and contrast tweaking to see it. It is definitely there, they intended for her to be revealed to the player - just not to 47 (until Absolution).
I know it has been years since this game and video came out, but when he said "this is maintence" i felt like she could have said: "so why don't you fix it yourself?"
by that point though, he had already offered diana something that he knew she would never refuse: information on 47s past. if he didn’t have anything that like, there’s no doubt she would’ve snapped back with that or another similar phrase, but by that point she had a reason to go along with him, even if she personally dislikes providence. i’m sorry i know it’s been a year since this comment
Even the bad guy knows there is a weird special connection between 47 and diana and everyone thinks 47 can't feel any type of way toward someone. Also these cutscenes in hitman 1 are LIT! I was ok with the slides on hitman 2 and 3 but after playing hitman 1 again...I realize that while they cut costs down, it was not a good idea over all. But I guess you get the other cutscenes that are not cgi based in the other games more so than in hitman 1
I'm beginning to wonder if someone in Providence was involved in Ort-Meyer's research and/or experiments in human cloning. If so, I'm guessing that 47 would want to confront that person and get answers from him (or her).
chances are Providence knew of Ort-Meyers and perhaps supplied him a lot of the things he used to create the clones, and this isn't even getting into 47's other "Fathers"... As for the Shadow Client, all signs point to a missing 48 OR a "Twin" of 47
Haha, I won't spoil it for you, but you should look into Birth of a Hitman comic book, it tells it all. A must read for fans of this game, it makes the story of Hitman 2 make so much sense.
Philip Rosch is an amazing actor. He really makes you feel Constant's years of experience and subtlety. His performance rivals even that of Michael Shapiro as G-Man.
Ah, Dr Sweet, thank you so very much once again for your tremendously kind words. It really means a tremendous amount to an actor when people like the performances that they do. The developers made it easy for me really because they created such a fascinating character and the writers wrote wonderful dialogue. Muchas gracias, indeed.
@@philiproschactor It is an honor to have feedback received personally by talent such as yours, good sir. I hope to see more of your performances in the future! :)
@@XJ0461C Ah gee, thanks once again, Dr Sweet. I hope there is another instalment of Hitman sometime in order that that could happen. Thank you again for your kind words.
@@philiproschactor I think you played the best villain of the hitman franchise. Your character managed to actually do alot, if IO was ever to do remasters of the old games i'd love to see your character in it too.
@@philiproschactor Your performance was magnificent in the Hitman trilogy. I'm always coming back to watch this train scene with brilliant Jane Perry after all these years. It was epic that they had you to announce Hitman 3 to the world in the "only death awaits" trailer!
Ah, The Batman, it's wonderful to read how much you enjoy the character of Arthur Edwards. It's been a joy to play him over the years. Interestingly enough, regarding your observation on the Constant's voice, that was something I thought about very carefully before I did my audition for this role as I felt his voice would be completely intrinsic to his whole character and I felt very comfortable with his voice even though it's very different to my own. Delighted that you have enjoyed the games the Hitman series so much.
@Emanuelgamer 1313 he's an extreme example of what middle class man can achieve by carefully making good use of the changing events and the plans that backfire only to serve his purpose, I think Machiavelli would be proud of Mr Edwards.
@@philiproschactor he really is a character that's highly intelligent, it's unwise to underestimate Arthur Edwards because exceptionally smart individuals like him are the ones who allow others to serve their purpose instead getting their hands dirty, Arthur manipulated the events in ways his superiors never foresaw.
@@thebatman6781, I think the writers for the series did an amazing job because they painted a truly deep picture of a world full of complexity and intrigue, and the characters reflect that depth and subtlety too. I'm delighted you enjoy the game so much.
@@philiproschactor One of the truly interesting things about him as a character is that his voice-*your* voice- contains no arrogance. All of his boasts and threats are grounded in fact because he simply doesn't need to lie or exaggerate. Constantly maintaining a quiet, dignified yet menacing air reminiscent of Gus Fring. One of my favorite missions was the Sinclair story with the kill switch. He never raises his voice, never betrays a hint of emotion and Sophia Washington is left trying (and failing) to mask the fact that she's utterly terrified of him. And boy, did you milk those lines for all they were worth, sir. Another thing is his appearance: relatively modest, not exactly the sort to stand out in a crowd. From the above mission, Zoe Washington even wonders how he can manage to be the most anonymous person in the room despite being the only one not wearing a mask. Plainer than vanilla, and that's the whole point. One, it means that he isn't easily noticed. Two, it means that his enemies are caught completely off-guard by his fear factor. Arthur Edwards is unfailingly and genuinely polite and well-mannered to friend and foe, but that only makes him even scarier, and even more awesome. And fact that you managed to convey all of that using nothing but your voice is incredible.
Wow, this is some intriguing and true underbelly espionage shit they have developed! Fantastic acting in these scenes! What I like the most about the story is the dialogue. It's like a very intricate game of chess every character is playing when they confront one another.
@Emanuelgamer 1313 honestly i don't think that'd make a good plot, especially given lucas' sacrifice and edwards' preparation; but i do see where you're coming from
Haha, I'm glad you like the character of The Constant so much, Megronix. It has been a joy to play him and the developers made it easy for us because they wrote us all great dialogue and that always helps.
I guess that in Hitman 2 they spent more money on polishing the game rather that on these type of awesome cinematics. Is a shame but not a dealbreaker.
I think it's because of the sudden change of ownership over the non-mobile Hitman games. Square Enix is very, very good at creating these types of cutscenes, as you can see here. Warner Brothers might not have given Hitman 2 a large enough budget for this kind of beauty. Square Enix had a weird approach to Hitman 2016, they spent so much money marketing the game and reviving it. They just didn't provide the devs enough time to finish the game and that led to the awkward release schedule that harmed the game up front IMO.
@@jackalan04 trillions ? hell no . toy story 1.2.3., wall e , etc etc all these are cgi movies .. they dont cost trillions to make. IOI wont make a cgi hitman movie cuz it will be worthless. hitman as a game makes sense .. what will they show in the movies ? unrealistic actions ? or long stealth missions ? hitman is better as a game..
Too expensive and honestly not worth the scale. Avatar cost 237 million to make, and it was needed given the action, creatures, battles, vistas and so forth. Hitman? Why spend hundreds of millions on CGI for what? Silent kills and pretty locations and people? The Hitman we like is very practical when it comes to using CGI, nothing over the top really that justify the budget of an avatar escapade. CGI for a small conversation like this? Sure. But really the stuff we want can be relatively easy to reproduce live action at a much lower cost. There’s just not much motivation for a CGI hitman movie. Hitman is niche, not worth the investment and after the last two live action movies, who’s gonna care outside of a small group of fans? Besides, a faithful 47 from the game would make a poor protagonist, or a very difficult one to convey any emotion or connection from the audience with. So then we would have get another Absolution plot, and tacked on characters to exposit dialogue. Video Games are perfectly fine for 47, he doesn’t translate at all to Cinema.
@Haman Karn Mate, calm the fuck down. A guy told you to not read the comments but you continue to keep your mouth talking and being an asshole on RU-vid.
Ah, thanks so much for your very kind words, ollierachnid. It's always wonderful for an actor when people like the performances they do. The developers wrote a fascinating character so I think they made my job pretty easy, really.
Two dangerous people meet face to face. Also the 47 in his childhood photo looks like Jake Lloyd when he was a kid right before he also makes trouble and trying to fight his inner demons
It's because during the development of Hitman 2, IO Interactive parted ways with Square Enix. This has a big impact on the game's cutscenes because it was Square Enix, not IO Interactive, that outsourced the cutscenes to a company called Platige Images. The separation also caused huge financial trouble for IO, with almost half of their devs laid off. With them also struggling to release Hitman 2 in time, the devs just couldn't afford to have cutscenes with the same quality as the first game.
A bit of both! He's talking about 47 when he refers to 'a mysterious man with no past', but he's referring to Grey when he says 'I think you got close to that someone' and 'he wants nothing but chaos'. At this point, the shadow client hasn't been identified as Grey, and the Constant is trying to convince Diana, and by extension 47, to help him figure out who it is and take him out.
These cutscenes were made when Hitman 2016 was entirely a Square Enix project. They sold the rights to make hitman games outside of mobile platforms to Warner Brothers and I guess WB didn't see these kinds of cutscenes as essential.
Basically what Popuka said. They received a much smaller budget to work with going forward, but also the fact that the studio making these cutscenes wasn't in-house at IO but part of Square Enix, so even if they had all the money in the world, the guys making these movies couldn't because of contract obligations.
but luckily golden shakehand (NY) and the last resort (Maldives) cutscene back to the cinematic cutscene but TBH for me the cinematic cutscene in Hitman 2 less impressive than Hitman 2016 cutscene
I haven't ever played this game. And I looked it up. The timeline for this is so confusing where to start? What's the chronological order to play all the games in?
The games so far have all been released in chronological order. The confusing one might be Hitman Contracts which is still set after the previously released games, but is largely made up of flashbacks to the first game.
You can play the older games if you wish, but personally I wouldn’t recommend it as the gameplay mechanics are awful compared to the polished engine of the latest trilogy. Also, you can play all 3 games from the menu of the 3rd game if you buy them all (and use the unlockables interchangeably), pretty neat.
Dude sounded like he recorded his voiceover through a phone he swallowed. You can tell they recorded their dialogue in different locations. Also he sounds like Kif from futurama to me, so it was hard to take him seriously.
That we won a long time ago. This? This is maintenance line seems very stupid in hindsight. Though it does make you wonder why the constant thought Providence won.
Nicholas Hakala I think he was very much in awe of his mentor, Janus, and the world of power he introduced him to. But I also believe he’s a practical man who saw the value in both having contingencies in place and presenting a strong, implacable front.
WTF does that ending mean?! I just finished this Episode 6 in Hokkaido and im from Norway, its night and all silent here, this guy comes in and gives her a photo, talks with Diana (I already forget that she has a photo) and he leaves, when she looks on the photo I FUCKING JUMPED!! But what the hell does that photo of "Child 47" have to do with "Partners now?" dont get it..
Which is interesting, as we in this instance appear to know more about 47 than Diana does! On the outside, we as the players know about his past, the experiments, Ort-Meyer, the clones, everything. I wonder if there is more for them to reveal as part of the storyline, or if its just a plot point to coerce Diana into a partnership. I originally thought Providence could have been the "unseen hand" behind Ort-Meyer's experiments, but we know he was funded by the Five Fathers who gave their DNA to create 47 in the first place, so that probably doesn't stack up. All its safe to say is.......they know everything about 47's past already. And the Shadow Client?? Is he another clone?? Things are certainly going down an interesting path!!
Also, don't forget that the cutscene after stage Colorado, in which 47 was aimed by the beard mysterious guy at the beginning of stage. I guess it is probably they r working together onto something, and Diana has already planned everything well just like bloodmoney?
code47jianlong that mysterious bearded man is the "Shadow Client" and it seems he is the guy Hitman and Diana is trying to find out who is. I dont think they are working thogetter, but.. if you watch the colorado cinematic then he says something about him and 47s past, which is interesting.
Remember me? I am your husband. I still love you after all of this. I mean i hated your for a while. That's not what my ticket says. You are still up? Mrs.burnwood?
Is there any particular reason why they went from this phenomenal motion capture to plastic toys in Hitman 2 and 3? Honestly the cutscenes in those games just look shameful, especially when being used for a great game like this.
These were made by a Square Enix affiliated CG animation studio when the developers of Hitman were still under their wing. When IO Interactive went their own way they were forced to do the animation in-house. For Hitman 2 they didn't have the resources to spare so we got still images instead.
@curiouscat1997 I kinda like the style of cutscenes within HITMAN 2 as well as the first. It still maintains its sleekness and cool vibes just as much as the CG cutscenes from the first, whilst also keeping the same voice actors which is a huge bonus.
If I'm not mistaken IO interactive left Square Enix and took the Hitman series with them and I think they didn't have enough budget for cutscenes like this
It's called Received Pronunciation, a sort of standardised British accent that's not really from one specific region. It is more associated with middle to upper class people and newsreaders. The woman who voices Miss Burnwood, Jane Perry, is actually Canadian, though.
Honestly here is so weird why the constant thinks 47 is behind this, it's like he forgot that at this point of this cutscene that 47 is still just working as a human machine, he just do what he is told to do.....for someone so smart, he should actually think....who is asking for 47 do theses stuff?
