I have always loved the idea of Hitman but when I play the games I feel a bit empty. I had the last one on my Ps5 and technically it's fantastic. A really good game. I think it's the freedom that overwhelms me and I don't mean I need hand holding but it sort of takes away the incentive to progress as it feels all is available straight away. I know that's not entirely true but I get that feeling. Trophy hunters must enjoy the challenge but I've never bothered with trophies as I'd rather be playing another game than the same one a frustrating millionth time to get the trophy (and I have been diagnosed with OCD which is ironic). Great for a bit of sandbox gaming though and will be interesting to see it on the eve faithful Switch.
@@SwitchUpYt Interestingly, they also aren't even real npcs (would be way too many AI calculations for a game that was on the OG Xbox). If I recall, they don't ragdoll, they're not counted in the post mission death counts in the newspaper, not even sure if they can call for help or not. Effectively, most of the crowd was just a cool trick for added immersion, really cool.
@@aubreyrogers5264 Easily. Hitman:Blood Money aged really badly, it's really restrictive and uncreative compared to the newer titles, it just feels severly cut-down compared to the modern entries because the technology simply wasn't there in 2007 to make a game as deep and open-ended as the new games. It was a monumental achievement at its time, but IOI only got better with time as technology progressed. Huge, detailed levels with 500+ carefully crafted NPCs, some of them having 5+!!! minute routes including random casual NPCs is something I've never seen in any game except Hitman WoA to this day. The levels feel truly alive. The WoA games are legendary to me and my favorite stealth games of all time. IOI age like fine wine. The older they get, the more I love their work, kinda like the From Software of stealh. "Everything was better in the past" doesn't apply to them at all. Can't wait to see what they have in store after they finished the James Bond games.
@@gameurai5701 I won't say your wrong, all I can give is my experience. I couldn't put Blood Money down, finished the game with Silent Assassin rank on every level, one of my favorite games of all time. The new Hitman games didn't pull me in at all. They seem like totally legit Hitman games unlike Absolution, I just don't feel the same charm or desire to do a mission every possible way as I did in BM. Maybe they are too big, maybe I'm too old now, maybe it just feels like I've already done this, I'm not sure what it is, but I miss the smaller levels that you had to rubiks cube out, the undertone of goofiness, the mystery of who you are, the fake death during the ending credits.. it was just a masterpiece and I guess I'm content with that, not needing more of the same with a shinier finish. Admitedly I think I should give the new Hitman's another shot. Is the story good or is it more like disconnected missions with emphasis on "daily challenges" and going more for replay value than a compelling story?
I'm so glad we have a native port of a Hitman game on the Switch. It would be nice if Codename 47, Silent Assassin, Contracts, and Absolution all came later.
2 and contracts are better then this particular game . Also absolution should have been included I’d argue of those 4 this is the worst one but it’s many players favorite
I was hoping you guys would review this before launch. Purchased. These days I find myself more excited at the prospect of replaying memorable games from my past than diving into brand new releases. Must be an age thing! 😂
@@sidakdoesstuff There's a bunch of good games out there, even ones that were released recently! It's just that you need to stop buying the newest "triple-A" slop and look for good games.
I preordered this when I heard it was announced. Only played Hitman and Hitman 2 and absolutely loved them. Exploring the levels, seeing the different routes you could take, messing with the NPCs just to see what they would do... great times. Heard good things about this game throughout the years, so glad I finally get the chance to play it. Hopefully those bugs get squashed relatively quickly!
The timing is crazy. Just got done watching your other video about upcoming releases and then the notification for this review pops up. Finding the creative ways to eliminate your targets was fun. After completing the game I would just go in and do a “zero witnesses” run on every level.
Before I ever played hitman when I was younger, a friend of mine would be obsessed and know everything about each level of hitman, all of them. Could watch him master levels for hours, I never got near as good though 😅
Portable Hitman with recent quality of life features, yes please... make a physical release and take my money. I missed this game back in the day and have seen many videos of the more iconic locations and contracts and enjoyed the homage paid to them in the latter games. The way 47 walks in this makes me laugh, looks like he's hiding something up somewhere. I guess even he needs somewhere to hide the explosive rubber duck. Thanks for the review Mark, I'm pretty keen for this and hoping for a physical and/or sale on this. May all your games be good ones. Cheers Gents!
Well I don't think this will ever get physical release. It would get sure sure if it wouldnt share exact version and name with android (and ios? Idk). Its mobile game ported onto switch so that would be kinda dispointing to have on cover
@@uzimakikawaki7383digital you play whenever no card required. Physical you keep sealed in its cover never to be played and sold on eBay years later for a gazillion dollars
The instadeath situation with the pool really made me chuckle 😊 I have no experience with this game but it looks very fun to play! Thanks for the review 💪🏼
Heck yeah! I had no idea this was coming to switch but I'm absolutely stoked that it has! I've got a lot of good memories playing this with this with friends, trying to find the most fun ways to complete the levels. I look forward to picking it up and reminiscing of good times passed 😊
Never thought I would see this series on Switch. I love the Hitman games. Endless replay value, great characters, etc... Glad to see this wasn't a shoddy port
Gyro-Controls?!?! That was my main selling point in getting the switch back in the day. Plus nostalgia of Hitman! Side Note: I haven't been able to put Turnip Boy Robs a Bank down! I love it so much! You review made me pull the trigger on getting it and I'm so glad I did! Thanks guys!
Really is! It's sad to say at 2 hours in I already have a 2 card. HOWEVER it took me longer than it should to realize you go sideways on the gun rack. I kept thinking I was missing something cause I kept trying to go down. Bahahah. But that did give me a secret arsenal I happened upon for myself! Lmaoooo
Anyone not using gyro hand in the gamers card step away from the console and get Dr who to take you back to 2000 havnt aimed any other way sinse 2006 switch 2 need s far far far better gyros and joycons every pc game I play is on a pro pad with mouse gyro... I want a current day super tight precise 3d motion gyro cpl of joycons a modern wii emote and chuck joycons didn't cut it and its annoying
That Ave Maria brings back memories. I used to play it on my laptop during college breaks, and boy, did my vent coolig working overtime during that period :D
Wow, my wallet is burning, I can’t keep up 😅 jokes aside, I love SwitchUp reviews, sincerely I think you are the very best! The reviews are fun, objective and trustworthy, thank you Mark and Glen!
My first thoughts after seeing this video posted, but before starting it, was that i have no experience with hitman because the switch was my reintroduction to gaming. Your comment about betting with your brother really shows how great it is that we can get good ports to a handheld system like the switch. And it makes me so excited for the next nintendo console, knowing we'll get even better games porter to handheld!
I still play this game on pc which should tell new enthusiasts how damn good this game was Gameplay - 8 Story - 6 Level design - 10 Atmosphere - 10 Soundtrack - 10 Stealth - 9 Weapons - 10 Unbelievable that this quality of game was accomplished in 2006
Im in love with this so much I grabbed it on iPad right away, the fact that they released the best version of any Hitman on portable devices is awesome!
I’ve always loved the hitman games. Played the first game on the PC and then all of the subsequent console games. So much fun. Just wish they had given us a physical.
Sadly I never had a chance to get around to playing any Hitman games growing up, so looking forward to eventually playing this! (I have played the cloud version and it wasn't exactly great but still done enough to peek my interests and well now we have this 🤣👍) nice work as always Agent 47.....I mean Mark 😅
I am amazed that Switch is getting all sorts of new games, and games from the past (being remastered or remade). Hitman: Blood Money is a total classic. Must play!!
I kid you not, about 10 years ago I told my brother the same thing. That we were going to be playing graphically impressive 3D games on a handheld and he told me that wouldn't be possible. It is so cool hearing someone else had that conversation as well.
When I was a kid ~30 years ago, I thought we'd have to wait until the mid-2030s to have real-time ray tracing in consumer hardware, and something like ChatGPT would only be seen by my grandchildren. Some of us simply suck at predicting the future, be kind to your little bro :P
I hope we get more Hitman games on the Switch in the future. This is probably just the start, and the devs are testing whether the game will perform great on the Nintendo Switch.
I’m so excited for this that words can not express. Although I wonder why they didn’t bring the other hitman games as a trilogy like they did with the GTA games. Hitman contracts was also an amazing game and I wish I could go down that path again..
I already have this for the Stream Deck (bought it on a recent sale, cost like £1.60) The standard Steam price is £8.50. The pricing difference between the Switch and Steam is insane.
One of my friends is absolutely obsessed with the hitman series (which come to think of it may be something I should be worried about) but I can definitely see why he loves them so much after watching this
Blood Money is a fantastic game and great addition to the Switch library. Hopefully they clean up some of the graphic issues, but either way this is on the wishlist.
Ever since the I played it on XB360, I wanted it so bad on handhelds like PSP and then PS VITA. When it was finally announced for Switch, I felt like a dream was about to come true.
I'm a huge fan of stealth action games and I still have hundreds of games to beat on my 3DS and Nintendo Switch, but I honestly can't wait to play Hitman Blood Money for the first time on Switch since I pre-ordered it.
Nice bet :) I wouldn't have expected this to ever be able to run on a handheld but I suppose it was just a matter of time. I got hitman 1 2 and 3 in hitman world of assassination on my ps5 recently. So this game isn't included there. Great to pick this one up.
This was the first hitman game i ever played and it was on my buddies computer and i was hooked. I immediately went and bought it for my Playstation and they've been one of the series that i always make sure i have a physical copy of, the others being all the soulsborne games and the monster hunter games
Awesome!! Was one of my favourite games in the 2000s on PlayStation 2. Finished Blood Money 2 months ago again on PS2 but I'll definitely play BM on my Nintendo Switch again 😅 Great game!!!
Almost... It should have been a collection, physically. That would make it a no brainer. On a decent sale and somewhat patched up, and I'll still happily get it, probably.
I'm a huge fan of stealth action games and I still have hundreds of games to beat on my 3DS and Nintendo Switch, but I honestly can't wait to play Hitman Blood Money for the first time on Switch since I pre-ordered it. Also, I would like to say that I love the NYXI controllers since I've been using them for a long time, but I mostly use the regular joy-cons since I'm used to them.
Really quite impressive seeing this running on a handheld, but honestly, since Witcher 3 dropped on Switch, nothing really suprises me anymore! It's my wickle pocket powerhouse (!)
Some npc behavior and paths bugged Dialog cut short sometimes In the mission house of cards the elevator is bugged and you cant access the other floors unless an npc uses the elevator while you’re on it. Really hope they fix it
Love your videos, it's cool they added extra features to the game from the modern hitman games. I always wanted to play blood money so I may give it a try!
Excited to play this. The only Hitman game I've ever played is Absolution and I absolutely obsessed over getting the highest score possible on each mission. Not sure why the games after never really appealed to me. Looking forward to getting this.
I guess bugs don't really bother me because I still play older consoles as well. It's not a major deal breaker for me unless it's something like Pokemon. This looks fun for sure!
I had some time to play the tutorial this morning. I'm a bit mixed so far. It's some good nostalgia and I'm enjoying it so far but it's not without issues. I had a crash within the first 5 minutes. I didn't have any more but I can't say that's the most reassuring sign. I also noticed that the intro (with the birds) felt choppy. Other than that I didn't really notice any performance issues. Controls are ok and I appreciate the motion aiming. But I do find it all feels a little more unwieldy than I'd like. It's not bad but could be better. There were times when actions seemed to take a couple of presses. Hopefully there will be a patch for the bugs I've seen so far.
Another great review, you guys are my go to channel for everything switch. I wish they would bring the splinter cell games to switch, have you heard any plans for this in the pipeline?
