/ glencampbell 7 minute medley of greatest hits by: The 5th Dimension (Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis, Jr), Glen Campbell and Dionne Warwick on The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour.
Took my mom to see Dionne Warwick on Mom's Weekend at Oregon State Univ in 1969 and the following year The Fifth Dimension. I will never forget how happy she was. I was too.
It's incredible how beautiful music could bring such great singing artists together... Glenn Campbell... Dionne Warwick...and The Fifth Dimension. 🎶🌈🎶 Ruth Buzzi, too...
It's great to hear them not only sing together, but also help out on one another songs......Glen Campbell considered this entry into his hit T.V. show the best....and indeed it was.
In his memoir, "From Hobo Flats to The 5th Dimension," founder of The 5th Dimension, LaMonte McLemore fondly talks about the top variety shows the group appeared on including Glen's "Goodtime Hour." As LaMonte's biographer, we love & appreciate this historic clip of the group with Dionne & Glen--pure joy! --Robert-Allan Arno
Thank you. We are honored that Mr. McLemore shared this on his Facebook wall. We truly love the 5th Dimension, one of the best groups in the history of American music. Please send him our best wishes. facebook.com/groups/GlenCampbell/
I'm an access TV producer/director. I have done some impressive shows. But, to have ALL of my favorites on one episode istoo much: Songs by: Laura Nyro, Jimmy Webb, and Burt Bacharach Performed by: 5th Dimension and my love Dionne Warrick, Hosted by bad a** guitarist Glen Campbell ... too much. Thank you for posting this clip. Thisi s what world peace is all about.
Everyone agrees Marilyn remains, to this day, an absolute Goddess, while Florence's natural beauty is amplified by her astounding and captivating inner radiance which makes her glow and shine so bright whenever she's in her element performing.
Better times...better world. If you didn't see, feel, be it, it's hard to really understand what amazing times, what a great place this country used to be back then.
Several voices, representing the work of at least three major songwriters, had hits largely backed by the Wrecking Crew as house band in the studio. Together they were the biggest part of contemporary pop and the music that filled the space between Rock, Soul, and Country.
@@donnalombardo212 Yes- but it clearly isn't her best "look". But indeed, you could shave her head and dress her in a flour sack and she's a knock-out.
The entire medley was lifted to a higher place when Ruth Buzzi decided to stop by to add her vocal stylings at the end!!! Why isn't her name in the title?, she carried everyone else!!
Hamilton, hello! If you mean Ruth Buzzi, yes she was from Laugh-In but wasn't the sock it to me girl (that was Judy Carne). In addition the the 5th D and Dionne Warwick, Buzzi and John Byner were guests on the show this particular week and it was customary to get all the cast out at the end of the final number which that was on that telecast.
