Hittin' on Some Jewelry Finds at the Old, Old Park! Fall 2023

With the stock coil out of commission we try the 6" and 15" coils at the old, old park and see what they can do. Since there's not a lot of modern trash being deposited, anything in the lower-mid range sounding good and shallow are prime targets to hit if you want to score some of that precious metal! '

Thanks!👍😊 Was a lot better than my hunt last night where I didn’t end up filming anything resulting in losing track of time and it being 6hrs in and 2:30 AM at finish. No high tones left except nail falsings so thought it would be interesting to just dig everything in the mid tone range to see if any gold happened. Take care and happy hunting!

Great pull on that delicate regiment button Darcy!! I've found a child's . 925 ring with the nox. It was an 11. Thin/small silver varies. All the best. Andrew.

Thanks!👍😊 Wow, that’s pretty amazing having silver come up that low! May have to give it a re-examination. Has been a great place for military buttons and dropped musket balls and have seen others pull stuff going back to the 1700’s. I believe there were military encampments there during the War of 1812 and rebellion of 1837. ATB and happy hunting!

@@kepvalley Hot spots like that are hard to come by! The British didn't keep very good records of where their encampments were especially if they were on the move.

Thanks Jim!👍😊 Haven’t come across many chains but then again, I’ve probably ignored many by not digging much mid tone stuff. Coming off a hunt last week that scored a 10k ring on a 12, thought I’d try digging all the good mid and lower tones last night in previously pounded area where virtually no high tones exist. Came up short but maybe on the next one. ATB and happy hunting!

Some good hunts last fall, actually I dug a 97th reg button there last fall as well.....the accident set me back a month ...hoping to get my new truck this week coming up and finally get out digging this year

Test the gold for 10k, 525 if that is what stamped in it is 12k Gold. That might be why it read up as an 11.. man rings and a chain and what else could you ask for you killed it on this hunt. relic button too . Test the Stones in the ring as well. You never know.. Also if a 925 ring is rang low it is cause there could be a coating of (rhodium) not sur eif that is spelt right but it is a thin metal that helps keep a ring shiny.. Thanks!👍😊 May be worth re-examining them a bit further. I have heard of that rhodium finish which I think is on a few 925 rings I’ve dug. The stones definitely fail the breath test and have a perfect smooth surface unlike what’s on a real 3/4 carat stone from another ring I dug. Take care and happy hunting!

Is the ring at 1:04 stainless steel? I had a ring that said 925 and as time went on it discolored and showed brass underneath Hoping your 925 is real some good finds

Thanks!👍😊 I don’t believe it is. It looks to be plated brass. It’s possible for the tiny ring to have that VDI if silver but sure looks to have a different colour underneath. ATB and happy hunting!
