I don't normally pipe up when I see you or any other VP RU-vidr make a mistake, but since you said something about it I figured I would. 😜 Worked out in your favor this time, though, so just goes to show that optimal play isn't always your savior. I threw away a wild quad for four deuces which got me a handpay on Loose Deuces, once. Optimal strategy is a virtue, and if you stick to it most of the time it makes the sin of a risky play that much more fun. 😈

John brought me some incredible luck and even after he left, I hit a straight flush to cash out another 400 bucks! What a great way to end the year and hopefully will begin another year of Royals. That looked like my Bonus Poker session yesterday. Nothing seemed to hit and I think I must have had long stretches where I would lose multiple hands in a row and the flushes were about as good of a hand as I ever got. Good luck next time!

I remember back in the day when I could literally hit 10+ handpays on vp in an 8-hour or so session. Things have changed so much with the payouts anywhere. I used to hit everywhere. Now it's become obvious that casinos have tightened up their machines so much, that they are killing business. It's not going to last, trust me, because people like me that have half a brain, aren't stupid enough to keep going. I miss the glamorous days of going to the casinos. It used to be so much fun. Now, there are no hosts or comps or anything. I couldn't even get a limo ride to the Bellagio in Dec. or a host. I spend the money, but no one wants to woo me anymore. It's strange. I sense video poker is dying, and the casinos want us to die with it. Anyway..... Thanks for your great videos Andrew, and Happy New year!!!

You had a lot of throw-away hands which resulted in more trash but you also caught more draws than expected! Overall, I'd say you did pretty well. Good Luck!

In a 6-hour session of $.50 single-line bonus poker ($2.50/hand), I have gone down $1500. The probability of a session that bad is about 1 in 50 (2 stdev), but they do happen. At $250 per hand that would be down -$150,000 for a session. Even Bonus Poker, a relatively low-variance game, can be brutally cold. I've played a 6-hour session with no quads. I've had long-term downturns of 4 and even 5 Royal cycles. That's down $8-$10k playing $.50 denomination. So for true long-term play at the $50 level, you'd need a bankroll of $800k-$1.0 million to ride out the bad downswings. Then double that for $100 play.

I normally play $1 million per hand, take that. 😁 Playing goes really slow because even a pair is a hand pay.

Lousy pay table. All those straights and flushes should have given a royal. Painful...but still fun to watch.

If I was playing that kind of denom, I would be playing Triple. You say it's more volatile, but this Bonus Poker SUCKED.
