Hive is owned by British Gas. My advice, next time you need servicing your central heating system, or dealing with your hive malfunctioning, unless you can repair it yourself. Pay monthly, as I do for Homecare for 12 months. It includes a free service, and I pay a little bit extra monthly, so I don’t pay call out charges. It gives me piece of mind, knowing my central heating system is covered, whereas, if you pay for one off repairs, freelance plumbers can charge you a fortune in call out charges alone, and aren’t always accountable if they chose to ignore you’re calls, or not turn up for appointments to repair your system. At least with British Gas, if you have an issue with an engineer, which is rare, British Gas will rectify it, and compensate you as a gesture of good will.
