For that sweater with the 2 colours... you could always rip back the sleeves a bit and redo them in same color as the bottom of the body. It would even it out a bit. I am a ripper....I rip things back all the time. Lol.

Laura’s Soufflé in the color you chose is absolutely stunning on you!! We’ll done! I’d like to knit the Soufflé for myself, but I’m afraid it may be too youthful for me (I’m 55+). I’ve heard that those of us with large heads have a lot of brains 🧠😃. The Oslo hat is definitely going to be added to my list for myself & my husband. Thanks for your video!

Hi Cynthia - thank you! And not at all, you should totally make a soufflé, age is just a number and if you think it won’t bring you joy that’s the only thing that matters 🤍

I'm 55 this year and I want to knit the soufflé, so you can definitely go for it. I have a large head too and have knit 3 Oslo mohair edition hats. Would recommend that pattern too.

The Soufflé Tee pattern is already in my basket to buy upon release this weekend. I/m loving my The first sweater which is in red, so that may be my chosen colour. I've knit 3 Oslo mohair hats, but love the look of your VIP ones so that will be on my list for next winter. I would love to watch a podcast on your stash. I'm in rented awaiting completion of our house sale, so my stash is stashed everywhere, including relatives houses! I desperately want to organise it into projects and frog UFO's/repurpose or destash. Having some sort of logic and plan helps calm my brain. Ps.. your pattern is perfect. You can stop worrying. 😃

The blue shirt is super cute! I'm definately saving that pattern as a future project. I just had our friend C as well, but luckily I got a very mild case and was only ill for two days. I did get some good progress on my sock while ill, and I'm now working on the second sock (first pair of socks ever, restarted three times before I was happy enough to finish it). So I've been working on that, and also on the Librarian Vest by Skeindeer Knits. I had to make life hard for myself and choose a colour changing yarn, which means that I'm now working a steek into the pattern (designed bottom-up, with top front and back knitted separately) so I can continue knitting in the round. We'll see how that goes! Anyway, I hope you're doing well! Thanks for the video and keeping me company :)

Welcome back! I love your Soufflé T. I think I might like it best of all that I have seen to date- of course, I love navy blue! The colour block solution to yarn chicken looks great and fits right in with current trends on your green sweater. I like that crochet stripe accent on your new raglan sweater design . The Oslo hats are inspiring me to give one a try and cashmere and merino- so lovely! Maybe in the fall, as I am hatted out after Christmas and a LONG queue of Newfoundland Saltwater mitts to finish and two sweater requests (complete with design concepts) from two of my granddaughters, who are 5 and 7 and want fingering weight- yikes! You have lots of great plans ahead and I look forward to seeing what you do with the lovely yarns. Thanks for a lovely visit. So glad you are on the mend!

hi Jennifer - thank you so much! I took a gamble on the navy as that’s what I had in stash and wasn’t sure how working such a delicate project in dark mohair would work out but I love the result. was so worth it. wow you sound like a busy busy knitter!

Oh my gosh, love that your partner ordered the yarn and his whole approach to getting his own hat. Too funny! Not sure if I should share his approach with my husband though 😊. Hi Rachel - I know so funny, he knew what he wanted and went and bought it 🤣 I’m sure so many of use resonate with imposter syndrome but it’s something not talked about much - hopefully like with many mental health issues talking about it reduces stigma and people realise they are not in the minority.

Hi Lizzie I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better. I always love stash podcasts it’s always interesting to see any yarn! As it’s slowly getting cooler in southern Australia I’m thinking of starting your First Sweater. I’m thinking of making it in Nutiden and mohair as I just received Stilla which is a lovely blue/grey and not a colour I often wear but saw I think Rebecca’s from Creabea’s 😊 which inspired me to try the blue. I’ve been starting on my second love note, this time a black while watching you.

Lovely to catch up with you, I tested positive yesterday for old ‘Rona’ - hadn’t heard this expression before but made me smile! I’m making a pair of Fair Isle gloves and I agree about the “frogging” as with Fair Isle I’ll rip back if my gut feeling says it’s not right. Living in Shetland I’m often experimenting with colours 😃

Loved seeing a podcast from you again. Great content as always. I'm glad you're starting to recover from the exhaustion of a pattern release and illness - that's a lot! So looking forward to seeing your new design come along, but don't pressure yourself! I'm so curious about the cords you got in the mail - I bought a set of Knitting Barber cords recently and had a really bad experience with them (almost made me wonder if I got a knockoff version or if I'm missing something) - on both size needles I tried, it kept popping off and making me almost drop stitches, then another time I tried the yarn kept getting stuck on the cord and when I tried to pull it to release the bunched up stitches the Knitting Barber cord actually broke! So I think I'm over this novelty product haha and will probably stick to just using a long cable needle with my interchangeables, but still wonder if I'm missing something or did something wrong because everyone else seems to love them.
@HiveKnitsNatters
@HiveKnitsNatters 2 года назад
Thank you Monica! That’s so strange about the cords you’ve used as I have to say I found these incredibly easy to get on with. Are yours the hollow plastic ones?
@monicalarose7980
@monicalarose7980 2 года назад
@@HiveKnitsNatters They are, yes, maybe I'm just bad at the method! I find it difficult to get the stitches on over the bump on the join where I've attached it to my interchangeables and eventually it always pops off mid process which is the worst. I know that won't happen if I transfer to an actual cable needle so at this point after several attempts I will go back to that but I do wonder what I'm doing wrong!

I've giggled so much during this podcast - I've just finished an Oslo hat (the mohair version) also in "covid jail" and am itching to make another from my 1st sweater leftovers! Just a couple of WIPs to crack through first though, but now multiple Oslo hats is A Thing, why on earth not! From a sustainability pov, I was wondering about doing part of the inner fold in contrast leftovers. Too far?
@HiveKnitsNatters
@HiveKnitsNatters 2 года назад
ooooh I am so intrigued by the mohair version, I think that hat would wear that fluff so well. oh yes you could totally use scraps for the inner fold as never seen. or maybe a colour-block statement out of it, why not!
