Rowan yarns are the very best - great quality and wash and wear forever. They are a great company too, trying to be sustainable and offer value for money - a medium price point but such good quality, your knitwear looks great for years.
Re: colours. You are a spring so warm and bright colours look best on you. Haven't quite figured out which subtype you are so I'm going to go for true spring ;)
I like the third sample best, very beautiful yarn choice. Even though I might not be able to wear it because of the wool content, I'd probably risk trying it.
I think you should knit whatever you like, designed by whoever you like as a designer. No one else has the right to criticise your choices. I can't wait for The First Tee to be released!
I have only recently found you on RU-vid and am really enjoying your podcasts. What a treat to get to visit Loop and then the afternoon with Rowan! 🧶❤🧶
Thank you for a lovely bonus episode. Wow you lucky people being invited by Rowan, looks like you both had a good day. I follow both you and Laura and enjoy all the chats. You both come across as talented friendly people. Can’t wait to see all the new yarn and patterns from Mode at Rowan x
On the Petit Knit issue, I think you should knit what brings you joy. Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows there are other designers and I don’t think you have any responsibility to guide knitters in any direction. A quick glance through Ravelry will help someone find a different designer if they wish to. You do you, knit what you want ❤️ On my second sleeve of The Reste, by the way. A lovely pattern that I am going to be so happy with 😻
I've just discovered your podcasts and will be working my way through them as I knit. I very much enjoyed your presentation, honesty about mental health and the thoughts on knitting for others and the costs etc. I am happy to knit for someone close if it's a gift from me, but don't want to get caught up in being asked to complete something either for a deadline, or without being paid for materials and at least some of my time. Goodness, if I charged someone per hour at even the minimum wage it would cost them a small fortune! I have seen an Etsy seller who charges from around £100 for a scarf including materials, and at least £300 for a sweater and some a lot more. I do understand the costs, but I am not sure how many people would be willing to pay it.
You can totally get away with the bright pink. Congrats on all your hard work and study. I'm sitting here watching you while knitting a 2x2 ribbed beanie for my adult son who is also a red head - he is older than you. I'm using a hand dyed yarn called Autumn Leaves. 🍂
I usually donate my super scrappy scraps to preschools! They love it and use up every single bit for when the kids are weaving or sewing or just crafting in general 😊👌
Love your podcasts and this one was different but very enjoyable. The pink hat looks great on you. 🥰🧶watch Laura’s podcasts also and cant wait to see the Rowan one. Love Rowan. X
Great video Lizzie, loved every bit❤. Congratulations on finishing GP training, I’m sure it’s been a big commitment and accomplishment for you 🎉. Your Oslo hat collection are so beautiful, now I’m feeling pretty influenced to make one for my self in one of the colors you used😅.
@@HiveKnitsNatters I’m stuck between the sage/moss green and the navy blue. I normally like darker colors for hats but that green is calling my name 😂, so I just might go outside my comfort zone and make it in that color😅
As a bigger girl who always sees designers asking specifically for testers in my size, but then for them to only give incredibly short test timelines, thank you so so so much for giving longer testing time to accommodate bigger sizes!!!!!
It's your knitting and you can choose to knit whatever you want! There are no rules! Sorry, I would have done the test knit for you in size 1 or 2 but I am recovering form Carpal Tunnel surgery. I'll apply the next time.
I would say as a general life skill to do what you enjoy and like regardless of what someone else thinks or has problems with. Would you stop listening to Queen because Freddy Mercury kept putting out absolute bangers and was "famous enough" No.. you play that shit as loud and often as you want! Haters gonna hate... we are going to keep knitting wicked good patterns and styles from petite knit without apology!
Interesting comments by your viewer about Petite knit, I have never made her patterns I prefer not to make things that everyone else is making, but there are so many designers and so many patterns I don't have to. We all choose our projects and yarn. You knit what ever you want to knit and Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, I think I have knit as many Joji patterns as Truly Myrtle, love them both. I do want a vest tho.
Lovely podcast and look forward to the release of your new pattern. Regards petit knit I think the popularity is the simple designs but with interesting details. Because we knitters spend so much time working on each pattern we need to trust that it is a success.
Congratulations on finishing your training and the new job!! It was lovely seeing all your projects, and also hearing the birds chirping in the background <3
I’m not sure where people get the idea they can comment negatively on what designers anyone uses to make garments. Many of us have brand loyalty when it comes to clothing, and that isn’t anyone’s business either. Knit and wear what you love. I will do the same. ❤ I enjoy your podcasts.
Great and lovely WIPs and finished garments!. Can I suggest that you sit further away from the camera when filming as the garments are so close you can't see the "big picture". Also, when items are closer to the camera any movement is extreme and dizzying.
It’s sad to see that no matter the genre on RU-vid, Facebook or IG there are people who think it’s ok to bully others. You knit what you enjoy, Lizzy. Your knitting is beautiful no matter the designer. Your designs are gorgeous too btw! I’m excited to hear all about your new job!!! 🌷🪻🌸🌻🌹🐈⬛
Your Tee is beautiful! There are so many people today who feel morally superior and do not hesitate to show it. It's sad. The Danish designers stick out from the rest of designers. Once one falls in love with the simplicity and fit, it is love. :) We live only once so let's knit what we like... No place for negativity... :)
