A full metal construction robotic arm with 6 programmable servos. Various programming and demonstration options; via PC application xArm Starter, xArm for iOS/Android, and RC wireless controller. Acton groups allow for programmable sequences of movement to be saved in memory and called for later use. Also supports arduino development (not covered, only the base is reviewed here).

Wow! Incredible review John! So much more thorough than mine. I really should have touched on the PC software. I fully intend to do a separate video on the PC software. The software adds so much versatility to the arm and gives you so much more info. Even though it is a bit limited, I thought the phone app was much more precise than the controller. I preferred to use it over the ps controller. I really need to set up those action groups though so I can try that out.

Great induction to this interesting new product. Thanks for going into such fine detail on the robotic arm, I now really have an understanding of what this product is intended for. I would have loved one these when I was younger.

I have another robot, by Joy-it (Grab-it). I have made it so I can use either Arduino or RaspberryPi. The servos on mine are rated at 21Kg-cm. I re-built it, thanks to Joy-it sending me more parts, so it now has a total of 7 servos (7DOF).. I like that the one you demo, has a joystick function, I had to buy mine separately. Also have to learn to program it as well.

How do you get the software? Customer service tried walking me through it but there is so many different things they were wanting me to download that my computer said could harm my computer... help

I've had the xArm for about 5 years. I programmed it to do a variety of activities, such as to play Tic-Tac-Toe using an Arduino. Sometimes the gripper will not grab or release properly, somewhat randomly. I use the PC Software Application to test different action groups, and I see this happen as well. I was wondering if you've experienced this with your xArm projects?

I still see these on Amazon for 199 dollars. I am building a small painting booth to paint model RCs and other plastic parts. This arm would be great for holding the parts. Programming it to clamp and rotate wrist would be great.

hi! help please ..I am new to hi wonder arm. I overheated two servos for sure. Bad smell and now its going crazy doing its own thing and all servos getting too hot. No wifi connection now. What are the steps to disconnect and then connect one servo at a time or how to reset the arm?

I'm really sorry, but I have no idea what the steps are to repair this. Have you tried contacting HiWonder? I do not work for them, I was just sent this Arm to check out for fun and show how it worked. This channel is about drones and they thought I could use the arm for some drone related project, but it was too big and heavy for anything I fly. I wasn't able to do anything else with it since this video.

I have one of these and messed with the servo test screen now all the servos move when I slide servo one 😢 any help

I am not sure, sorry, I have not used this arm in years now. I seem to recall though there is a sequence to reset everything to default. HiWonder should know what it is. They seem to still exist, I would email them if you haven’t already.

I really do want to dive into this with arduino at some point but it was not sent me, so I worked with what I had for review at the moment :) I'll keep this as a suggestion for a future video on the channel, thanks for watching and commenting!
