@@PaintballRuinedMyLife tubes of aluminium that are machined to within .0005 tolerance (at least in freak inserts they are) , when you get passed thousandths prices start to drastically increase. I have heard a few stories of the hk lazr inserts varying as much as .001 and .002 in one case, that is a lot for a item depending on .002 size increments. I would love to see an in depth comparison of the two xl freak vs hk lazer.

So in terms of accuracy you really don’t need a kit!? You’re making me question whether I should buy one! I’d love to save a few hundred but I want every advantage I can have, I’d appreciate any other advice you could offer!

@TrentDooley420 You definitely don't "need" a kit. It will not, I repeat, not improve your accuracy. Some argue that a proper barrel to paint match will slightly improve your grouping/accuracy by being more consistent over the chrono. However, for this to occur, you still need really good paint. And if you have really good paint, then the consistency will occur anyway. Most markers come with a larger barrel back, which is just fine. At most, having one more back for when the paint is small would be sufficient. This won't improve your accuracy, but make your setup slightly more efficient as you'll be able to turn your HPR down a little and still achieve your desired velocity. And then if it's very humid/hot and your paint swells a little throughout the day, you can size up to avoid barrel breaks. This, aesthetics, or sound signature is the only reason to buy a different barrel than stock. The only marker an entire kit is useful for is a closed bolt one like a pump or autococker. Save your money unless you fall into one of those categories or just really want to spend the money for fun. Your money can be much better spent imo. And even if you really wanted a kit, I wouldn't recommend this one.

I prefer the freak xl over the lazr barrel

I far prefer my LAZR. Had both, wanted to ditch the Freak because I hate the company, but wasn’t willing to risk not having a good barrel kit on hand. The LAZR is by far the highest quality HK product I’ve owned, out of a pair of HSTL arm pads, a jersey, and KLRs.

@@nachosjustice8928 I must agree with not liking gog but as someone who has both now I disagree, granted I have not had the chance to use the lazr yet (only got it a few days ago)and the freak xl only once. but have many years with a standard freak and other barrel kits. I got two inserts that where exactly the same size but label different in the lazr kit(680 and 682 both 681 + or - .0003 ) . also the 688 insert is tampered from .6872 to 6898..... that seems like bad really quality control. all my measurements where done with starrett calipers with accuracy to .0003

The barrel choice is for good looks and sound signature and efficiency of the marker. .0003 will not make a difference in your overall performance. Paintballs aren’t perfectly round or the right weight to be lazer accurate. Can’t perfectly match paint to bore bc of the inconsistent size of each paintball in a bag. Snipers in paintball don’t exist. That’s a noob term. Prove me wrong

No, the X7 uses A5 threads, this barrel uses Autococker and Luxe threads. You would need an adapter. Super Staunchy Customs might have one

What are you talking about? Freak XL comes with 8 inserts in all boremaster kits, and it's 199 with a barrel and aluminum inserts. I highly recommend getting the freak XL stainless inserts for a little more.
