You would at least need two I would go with three of those in a 4x4, or just get the 600rspec and that will cover a 4x4 perfectly. You want 30- 50 watts per squat foot without co2
On my 5th year running homebuilt LED strip light fixtures, running Samsung 561c diodes and Cree 660nm supplemental, power is HLG 240H 24B drivers for the strips and APC 35-700 for the supplemental. In the 5years running I have only one strip go bad.
homebuilt as in you made the led light yourself buying and soldering each diode yourself? If so do you have a link to a reputable dealer for the diodes? I'm a diy guy myself. Ive been running 4-6 100W HD LED chips each with their own heatsink and fan.. very powerful. great results.. but loud with 4-6 fans buzzing.. Id like to either get one big heat sink and try to get away with using only two fans, or start buying lower watt led chips that wont needs as much cooling.. I was hoping I could use 10W led chips.
HLG fixtures are not moisture resistant at all! Do the research. They are at a premium and have no moisture or dust resistance! Completely inappropriate in a garden! Sorry HLG, Sad but true✌️
@@matthewf9909 depends on the driver for the particular build. But none of HLG's boards have an ip rating. Drivers can be remote but the boards can not! Capiche ✌️
@@matthewf9909 absolutely wrong. Weston used to have Eric’s job. But Weston got tired of LED depot promoting crap and crap they wasn’t even knowledgeable about said unit. So started his own company.
@@matthewf9909 wrong again. One of Shane’s 1st videos was with An Optic Cob. And like I already told you Weston used to work with LED DEPOT. LED even still sold Optic up to about a year ago. My man you’re O-2 for the night.
@Brandon Stanley I did a test with it an uv produces more terps In a plant an thc so keep smoking rocks and come back to me when u send me a pic of 1 plant u grew in a 5 gallon bucket that came out to a little over a pound of a plant then will talk lol
No ip rating son. HLG fixtures will corrode and malfunction in time! Who wants to deal with warranties? It's ok kid! Most new growers don't consider the need for moisture and dust protection in a grow light. And at their premium prices, it's dishonest in the least not to provide an appropriate IP rating don't you think?✌️
It's a great light for dry environments. You must be a very careful gardener. Good for you!!! My point is, HLG's price point does not compete well with, GML, Photontek, Opticled or Mammoth. All of these are >ip-65. HLG, though made in USA is partnered (joined at the hip) with Samsung. (All their boards are imports too!) Value is the game for the end user don't you think friend! Congrats on your purchase! But look elsewhere in the next. Imho 💕🌱✌️
@@joeborovina4769 electric sky was good value! Heavy on the blue (4500k'ish)that lowered its efficiency numbers. Most RU-vid videos show shorter smaller plants though. I'm convinced an led fixture closer to 4000k is better for full cycle. Probably why you went with r-spec (3500k'ish)right? My favorites are GML (tarantula) and Opticled (slim) best bang for your buck for upper end premium fixtures. Avoid fancy lights with proprietary controllers and full spectrum tuning. Why? Proprietary controllers will fail!!!!!!!!! 2) spectrum control is a rabbit hole with no appropriate science to back up the sale sizzle!!!! I own Scynce Raging Kush. Without a spectrometer the control is blind. And when it fails, the fixture is dead! Same goes with Medic grows light and controller. AVOID. Controllable far red is helpful. Check out GMLs Tarantula Vulcan nitro or optic slims 750. On my wish list. Beware of Shane's reviews! (Migro) He will sell you junk...✌️🦚
