Days after formation of Modi 3.0 govt, Union Home Minister Amit Shah swung into action and held high-level review meeting on Manipur violence. The high-level meet was held at Ministry of Home Affairs on June 17 to review the security situation in Manipur. The meet was attended by Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, IB Chief Tapan Deka, COAS General Manoj Pande, Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh and other officials. The key meet on Manipur comes days after fresh violence was reported in northeastern state when CM’s convoy was allegedly attacked. Meanwhile, on June 16, Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey met HM Amit Shah in Delhi over the situation in the state. The northeastern state has been witnessing ethnic violence since May last year following clashes during a rally. The rally was organised by All Tribals Students Union to protest against the demand for the inclusion of the Meitei community in ST category.
