Massed bands of HM Royal Marines march up The Mall after performing Beating Retreat 2022. For those wondering why the band stopped half-way up the mall, their coaches blocked the road ahead of them towards Buckingham Palace.
Just listen to the top drawer playing of the Massed Bands of the Royal Marines. The finest military musicians in the world. Our country is lucky to have them.
@@lordlucan3706alright, let's knock down all the old buildings and anything historical and anything that might cost anything to keep in the country. Let's just care about money and not at all about tradition, history, or just anything that might cost us a bit of money. You're just a selfish person who can't see the world past the 4 walls you live in.
I don't there can't be many better ways to spend 8 minutes of your life than watching and listening to the superb massed bands of HM RM. Simply superb, long may it continue.
It's the only thing worth a damn in the UK, the Military who are badly treated by Tory governments. I'm no longer British but still take pride in seeing CWGC cemeteries knowing that the UK was once a trustworthy and honourable country which it no longer is.
Was brought up in Southsea...my mum used to walk me and my brother past Eastney Barracks in a pram ...often saw the massed bands of the Royal Marines in full uniform playing and parading along the promenade...this was in the early 1950's...still remember it to this day and I'm now 72!
Always get a bit upset when you see they do not command a huge crowd, just want to hug them all spectacular .coming to think we have no interest in anything of importance in this country. Well done all of you will give you a huge clap.
@@eleenprosser1577 Well Eleen - suspect the low spectator numbers were probably due to two things 1. it was VERY hot in London! and 2. this performance had been delayed for several weeks due to a stand collapsing. Hope you have watched the Mountbatten Festival of Music by the Royal Marines on RU-vid The 2022 Concert was amazing and you would enjoy it and the one before - played to an empty Hall due to covid. They are ALL highly trained on at least 3 instruments AND trained medics - besides being very fit too! Nothing like them - anywhere.
Don't forget your American Marines. The President's Own, Silent Drill Team and Marine Bands throughout the United States are second to none. If you look at the U.S. Marine emblem it shows the western hemisphere. The Royal Marines emblem shows the eastern hemisphere. Together we rule the world. Oooorah!
Love the bit at 2.10 when they reform to take up the full width of the Mall. Very, very impressive when they march up towards the palace. I went to the Beating of the Retreat at Horseguards many years ago and have always wanted to go again. They are the best in the world, nobody can march and play like the Royal Marines, so smart.
But in this, they are getting their own back, for the Royal Navy's performance of the Flank Reduction Movement during the Coronation. Marines don't like sailors getting one up on them.......
as an ex para a lot of years ago , drinking from 8pm till 4am 1 hours sleep then at 5am somebody used to put on the marching band music , now if this dont motivate you nothing will . top class musicians this band is top notch highly impressive .
Fabulous marching band nobody and I mean nobody can hold a candle to our boys they are immaculate everything is Bob on discipline and pride and tradition I'm very very proud to call myself british
WOW! JUST WOW 😲. I swell up with pride when I see and hear the Band of HM Royal Marines, the finest military band in the world. Congratulations and well done to superb musicians.
Piers this is the first time I saw this footage. How you did it I don't know, to get the sound right and a steady picture. You enhanced the Royal Marines performance. Thanks for posting.
I remember a time when you had to be 6ft tall,to be a policeman, guardsman, and royal marine bandsman, they are still the best, even though there are dwarfs in the mix!!
I had the pleasure of growing up listening to this on daiily, and being part of a Cadet drum corps at the old RM School of Music at the RM Depot Deal. I have the Deal bugle call as my ring tone.
i understand the drum section in synch. what amazes me is the guys with the twirling batons or whatever in perfect synch. seems to me one would be twirling one way at some time or another. but, they are masters at their trade.
Wear that uniform and you are wearing 350 years of history and tradition. And bare in mind that all these band members are fully serving soldiers as well.
Il faut que les brittons reviennent! Il est temps que l'Europe est la meilleure ARMEE unifiée du monde! Nous avons malmené le monde entier, puis nous avons déconné! Nous pouvons le refaire! Avec un vrai service militaire européen!!!
Because its verboten now for Brits and English to be Proud of their heritage, culture and have patriotism in case times of war, it slowly being indoctrinated, Bred and washed out, generation by generation.... Thats probably why, its a criminal shame...
Most of those bands men and women are multi instrumentalists. I have seen them pull out the violins and violas and deliver string quartet music or give it the full rock and roll at wedding receptions!
