Why are the tall guys letting the short dude get so close? They can't kick from that close...and they're too slow from that distance, especially back leg roundhouse. By the time they start throw the kick he's already moved inside their kicking distance. That being said, this places does look really fun. Keep up the good work.
You're right. The short guy is super athletic and has crazy explosiveness. And I know, it's not that easy, there is never anything particularly easy about sparring as everyone has their strengths/weaknesses. But, the taller dudes should keep more distance away so it gives them more time to see what the short dude is going to do and it allows them to use the full extension of their legs when they do attack. That's all i'm trying to say.
Speed, my ass lol. I'm 1:23 in and I was already hating on the tall guy. At one point, before the black dude does some jumping shenanigan (where he should've eaten a back kick that would have sent him halfway across the room) he's got a palm's distance between both feet, playing overly defensive, not even setting up for anything than a bs dragging front roundhouse kick or w/e lol. That's not fighting counter; it's being a bitch x). Even push kicking him every time he gets close will do damage. It would tire the hell out of him. Like, bro, ofc he'll sidestep you and make you take kicks like you were a practice dummy. Different levels though. Idk, I saw another video where they were doing a kind of tag game sparring. Was legit. This is just random match-ups regardless of skill, or anything really lol. Guess the first vid I watched was tourney training and this is just a regular class with all belts.
I'm annoyed that no one keeps their guards up. I'm a 2nd dan black belt in WTF and this is not how I was trained. TKD is SUPPOSED to be self defense AND sport. Smh. Keep your hands up.
Water Gates although having the hands down are often used for advantages in counter balancing and baiting-counter attack strategies it often results in a looser defense. Your comment isn’t without its merit!
