Also, if you are trying to do it slowly, I recommend holding onto a chair or the wall to feel the movements. When you actually do the kick you should do it somewhat quickly though
You have one of the cleanest 540s I've seen. Not a huge wind up, it's a mix between floaty and powerful, and it's clearly super controlled.... Damn near casual
Depends on the situation. If it’s about power, then yes, but if recovery/turnaround time needs to be faster OR if I need to maintain a more squared posture for defense, movement, or counterattack, then no
max holloway done a tight one against justin gaethje. he said he spent a long time learning it and it looked identical to yours. he used it in the last second of the first round and he broke justins nose. the fight went on for another 20 minutes but it definitely affected justins performance
Clean 540s bro! do you have any tips for doing a forward-moving 540 kick tho? All of mine move to the side (like in this video) but for some tricking lines it’d be better if i traveled forward or stayed in place.
Yes I recommend using the pivot setup or k-step to stay in place or slightly travel forward. I could try to make a video on that although it isn’t my preferred setup 🤔
@@HwarangSam A vid on it would be awesome! I’ve tried learning k step and while I can technically do it it looks very slow and clunky lol. My pivot is just weak, i think I don’t have the muscle memory.
