I wish all Hmong elders were this encouraging. Even though it wasn’t their taste, or they didn’t like some songs, they were happy that the younger generation is challenging themselves to be different and stray from the cultural expectations.

I'm 48 and I like all kinds of genre. Best believe I rock to Tou Ly Vangkhue, Sounders, SonsOfNotown, and TK killing Em. My kids think I'm odd because they don't know anyone of my age liking Hmong rap music.

I believe their judgment is only about looks. It has nothing to do with the music. Music is about music and lyrics and meanings not looks. This is stereotyping young artists.

You guys should really ask them why they like it. A "oh I like it" "sounds good" is lacking. Ask them why they like it. Why it sounds good. Really get them engaged more. Get them to compare music from their generation also.

Great videos and ideas! I would love to see more reactions videos. I would suggest in the future to title and called it Hmong Parents as these Hmong adults are not seniors/elders or older adults. As we can compare these reaction videos to other ethnic groups, they don't title it elders but parents. Absolutely title it elders if it is a 65+ individual, however, in this case these were parents/adults in their 50's. Keep it coming!

Just subscribed! I found this content to be very insightful and entertaining! Like most comments here, it seem like they were holding their opinions back but I enjoyed their reactions overall! I do hope to see more related content or other concepts like these in the future. Also, it’s so funny that the auntie in purple compared the 3rd clip (rap music) to be similar to Npav Ntsuab 😂 and he’s a classic.
