No disrespect to anyone... but.... my utmost admiration, respect, and thanks to all veterans, especially to those who served in Vietnam. My deepest and most sincere thank you.... may you know what you did is remembered snd revered.... I pray you get some peace and closure knowing that we respect and honor your sacrifices.... something that 99.999 % will never know.... but will have benefited from.... I’m sure the people in charge of this video meant no disrespect
Enjoyed your layout tour with the exception made in first 1min 23 seconds of video. Statement made about a person you know and I quote "he's a little flaky, been in Vietnam to long followed by laughter". I'm a Vietnam vet who did two combat tours 67-68 and 70-71with the U.S. Army. Was 19 years on my 1st tour and 22 years old on my 2nd. Awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and South Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with the 1st Cavalry. Found your comment offensive and disrespectful to a fellow vet who served as I did. Unless you were there you have no right to make any comment about something you know nothing about.
I completely understand sir and I apologize for the rude comment. The comment was not from myself, rather an older gentleman on the tour with us. For comparison, my voice can be heard around the 7:00 mark saying "yes sir." I did not realize the comment was recorded until after I started editing and I did not know how to remove it. Thank you for your years of service sir, and again I'm sorry for the rude comment in the video.
Thank you very much for your reply. I too am sorry for expressing my feelings and even as a 71 year old still have flash backs of the conflict. I really appreciate your apology and that means the world to me. Those two years in Nam were pure hell and had several close calls. But that is behind us and your video is first class. Again my sincere thanks for you to take the time to email me. Best regards, Jim
Mr. Lantern: I agree with Mr Lewis, though I knew it was the others who made the comment. I wondered why you left it in. You explained above. I thought the entire raft of gabbing while you were recording was rude of those guys. They couldn't stay quiet for more than a minute during the whole session. Common courtesy is dying with our generation, I'm afraid. Otherwise, nice video. Just so you know, most editing software has a separate timeline of the video and audio. The volume line can be "dragged" down to zero if need be, or simply cut and replaced with silence, your words or even music. There are RU-vid videos covering any editing software I've ever heard of.
First and foremost thank you so very much for sharing the layout for all us train/Railways nuts 🤠🙏🏻 Your layout is just exquisite takes you back in time that calming gentle and more grounded time of life where the rat race of life would be still so far away in time to come Back to when steam was king and diesels were coming into the network the absolute best of both worlds This is where your beautiful scenic layout lifts those thoughts for me such elegance of the peaceful era frozen in time with the beauty of the back grounds, trees, foliage, metal early style bridges Downto the ol country housing and then there is my most favourite scene of all captured with little country store by the crossing and the beauty of the lights going off and the train coming through sooo magical very inspiring you have one absolutely mind wondering layout thank you ever so kindly again❤😇🙏🏻
Really nice work, thanks for sharing. This layout is one of the best I have seen with regard to natural landscape and foliage coloration, and some of the best blending of backdrop with foreground.
A great model railroad. Nice balance track & scenery. Beautiful overall feeling with nice touches of details and very realistic blending into the background. A layout that really stands out ! Thanks for sharing and the ride along... Cheers.
Beeyootiful layout. So balanced and natural looking. Love the green work. lovely, warm buildings. The track work too is wonderful. Happy to have discovered your layout, John. Awesssome !!!
absolutely stunning.. that scenery places you in it.. I can only imagine how awesome it is in person.. the color and depth of the scene can only be so good on camera. Thank you for sharing this layout.
Great layout!! Weathering looks fantastic, and the buildings are very realistic looking! Trackwork is ballasted very well, and the overall look of the area is beautiful! The Alcos add to the realism. Would love to see more videos in the future.
New subscriber here. This is a beautiful layout. More than that it sounds like everyone is having a good time which is what the hobby is about. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Welcome and thanks for subscribing! It was an absolute honor to visit the layout that got me started in the hobby, and yes it was great time. I hope to visit again soon, and continue to share the hobby.
Gentlemen. This is by far the best layout that I've ever seen, on RU-vid! You ought to be very proud of your fine work! Regarding both the layout and the weathering of rolling stock.
An absolutely fabulous layout very well filmed and presented. Unfortunately I had to mute the sound as the constant background chatter ruined this video. I see this presentation as nothing short of professional. What a shame there was so much background chatter.
Enjoyed video but a little constructive criticism. The background conversation was distracting and took away from the viewing experience. Narrative on what we are viewing or silence would greatly enhance the video.
Wow! Youre very observant of real world and have captured it. One thing i really notice is your locos dont seem too loud. On a lot of videos, the locos seem to be blaring. Not sure if this is speaker size, a misset cv value on dcc, or some other reason. Any ideas
nice layout. Would prefer a narrated tour what we are looking and and not the inconsiderate background voices. Hopefully you can visit again and rerecord.
Wow that is an amazing layout! Great coverage, by the way I can’t remember your name Lit Lantern Productions it’s so long sense we saw each other at the NWV? How are doing? Also I have uploaded two videos now and one has some words for you that you will love.😉 I don’t know if you remember my name but it is Cole just to help. Nice job again, hope to here from you soon, have a good night.😊❤️🌙👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Cole. Thanks for the kind words! I left the NWV before going to college, which is why I haven't been around. However, I have been operating on a local layout, and may someday upload footage from our shenanigans.
Lit Lantern Productions, nice to here that, hope college is doing great for you. Good luck,And stay safe this winter it’s looking very nasty for transport, but perfect skiing conditions.☺️
Greetings With Much Appreciation For Sharing A Highly-Detailed; Realistic Layout ! But I Absolutely FAIL To Understand How A Professional ( ? ) Videographer ( * Lit Lantern * ) Can Shoot A Good Viddy Of John's Superb Layout and Then Subsequently Post The Same With Constant Background; Off-Subject and Inane Chatter So Distracting That It Soon Forces The Viewer To Hit The * MUTE * Button ? ! Surely A Later Over-Dub Sound Edit Description / Overview Of This Smooth-Running Layout Could Have Simply Been Undertaken ? In Conclusion; A Layout Of NOTE Spoiled By Lack Of ( Professional ) Attention In Presentation. Regards / Johnny Everitt
Beautiful layout. Excellent video work. However, the whole effort is completely destroyed because of the mind-numbing horrid chatter spewed out from 2 clowns in the background. Redo the video, and kick the clowns out.
