Flashback to when you felt so ashamed to show us certain rooms and spots. The pain and guilt could be heared in your voice. Flash forward to now: the joy and pride we hear in your voice when you show us your decorated home! It's wholesome :)

Your house looks really lovely and it really shows off your personality. I suggest after the Halloween is over you could minimise to perhaps one less bin. You know things that you have too many times or don't feel any connection to. That way you will be ready for next year. We are not into pumpkins too much here in Europe, but that wreath was really beautiful.

I enjoy seeing your wreaths that you make. Just an idea ... for wreath storage. Christmastime usually has special containers for storing wreaths. Your husband has made shelves in your basement. Maybe you could have a container for each wreath for your home and store one or two wreath storage containers per shelf. That way what you love to do and display will be taken care of very well. Label them, and what you enjoy doing and displaying most will most likely be done in 10 minutes or less every season! It can be a highlight every season ... and well taken care of too. If anything needs repair or "your special touch", the whole wreath is right there.

Seasonal decor isn’t really done in New Zealand and Australia but I do enjoy seeing how Americans get so into it. Your kitchen is looking so tidy and so inviting and you’re maintaining clean clear spaces in your home. You should be so proud.

I love how you "had fun with your kids" by letting them be part of the decorating journey! (especially the clings and inflatable lawn decorations) It's fun to see a few pieces that are still special to you through the years. They look very nice where they are. I especially loved seeing you pull out a craft that you have meant to do. I love how for you doing that is part of doing something that you love to do for yourself. Who knows, you may even enjoy giving some to others through the years. Perfectionism - I've been pondering that too. I think it's true that a "perfect" version of each person is not identical to the next person, it's unique ... but it reflects edifying principles in a way that reflects the true nature of the individual. I think you're well on your way and doing very well this year for fall decorations!

I used to keep tags and stickers on everything too until someone further along on the minimalist journey than me told me about how even simple things like that can add to the visual clutter. I finally started removing them and it actually did help. It’s stressful taking them off, but then it’s more simplified and peaceful looking around the house.

Just wanted to mention a quick technical note - I like the music volume in the background this video. Previously it was a little loud (distracting) and made it difficult to hear / listen to you speak. I have trouble sometimes with overlapping sound but this video seemed to hit a good balance. I am really enjoying the "fruit of all of your work"! It's so much fun to see what you love and to see it displayed with love and a nice flair around your home. It truly does feel like "Welcome to Our Home"! I'm not as far as you, but can I share one of my dreams still in the creation process (I'm still de-cluttering). It's basically a way to simplify being ready and quick to do all of this again year to year. When one has a lot of decorations, just have one bin per room (or zone for decorating). The idea is that you bring one container from the basement to the space to decorate. Enjoy decorating! Then put the one container back where it belongs. Continue space to space until done. The house stays a lot more manageable during the whole process. Also, if you don't "get to everything", but you did what you value having done first, you will enjoy what matters most to you. Most likely others may not even know you didn't "get everything done", unless you say something. If you find you like what you have out, but didn't use everything, maybe you're ready to let that item go. Just listen to your inner healing heart. Let it sparkle with what makes you smile from the inside. You have a nice smile, but everyone's smile is best when they're truly smiling from the inside. I totally get the keeping tags on new stuff thing - when it's still on it makes the item new and special, if you take the tag off it's just another item in your house. Keep reminding yourself that your home is not a store and it's ok to take the tags off! You have come such a long way and you will go even further! Well done!

I have the same lantern. It's one of my favorite pieces! I suggest taking a different mindset and think of tags as trash, that they must immediately be removed and thrown away because they take away from the item & belong in the garbage. Love the different white pumpkins. So cute.

I just had to pause to tell you that, yes, my mother keeps all of the tags on everything from baskets to clothing. I totally saw that with you and thought, "huh, I guess that is just what hoarders do!" I know that for her it is to keep it in its new state. I remember having yard sales and the items would be worn and she would say it was new, because to her as long as the tag was on it, it was new. I would slowly work on that if you can, for my mom at 83, there is no change coming. You are doing awesome though, and I'm so wish that my mom could have been helped when she was younger.

So excited for you... as a fellow Hoarder at heart I haven't gotten to decorating much anymore... plus - it's opposite seasons here so decorating for Spring is kind of weird because it's very "Easter" focused. It's funny because obviously our Christmas is in Summer but we still put snow scenes around. lol. For Halloween, I made some paper decorations out of books that were headed for the recycling bin. Then I added some giant spiders I got at a yard sale. We're in a 2BR apartment. I never spend more than $1. Near Chicago, Tina, Al's wife

Thursday: We went to the local farm this afternoon and loaded up on pumpkins, all sizes and colors, Indian corn, and corn stalks for FallWe do not have children about and a bit isolated, but we do decorate a little bit for Halloween because we are the kids! (Thursday is errand day in Flylady). Finished up Zone 2( kitchen) list for the week. You are so artful ! When you pack up, glean through as you store for the next year. I would edit as I unpacked and would do the same as a repacked, when I had the little children. You create such happiness in your beautiful home!

I love your decor ideas. I am very much someone who has a bad habit of retaining the tags on things. My sister said it’s probably helping with the idea of keeping thing’s like new, she’s probably on the right track. I find myself getting very distressed when I lose the tags, I made a small compromise, till I’m ready, by removing the prices and putting the tag to the back. I’ll not give up it’s just a step I’m not ready for but one day I’m going to make it happen.

You reached a very important milestone on your journey. 👏 🥳 I feel so happy to see how you free yourself from stuff, so that your beloved belongings can now "shine" and make your home a very lovely place. When I have a long term goal (2-4y) then I make a plan including milestones and short term goals (1-3 month). This helps me to see and celebrate "smaller" victories and the progress I made.💪😇 One milestone for example, could be to group all fitness stuff together in just one corner of the basement 🏋‍♀️

Also, I think that we saw your plate displays in the laundry room, so they could be in there or the basement now.
