What I love most about this episode was the sisters did not fight nor yell, kept respect and such love for their big sis. Also, once she learned of where the items were heading for donations to those misplaced from a fire, she immediately changed her mind about something so small and decided to donate even more. That was a beautiful change.

I too was a hoarder at one time, my long time love had died. I ended up with four storage units a huge barn and my house filled, I let it all go!! I knew I was not strong enough to go through it all. I kept what would fit in a 16’ uhaul, sold my house and moved to the beach. Best decision I ever made, I’ve never looked back and now I limit myself to how much I have at any given time. I feel for everyone of these people.

I hate that you're going through the loss of your home. I hope no one was injured and that you and yours are safe. While it's just 'stuff', it's incredibly difficult to lose it all at once. Unfortunately, I can completely understand and relate. I've personally experienced the total loss of my home to a fire...not just once, but twice!!! The actual structures...gone, then gone again. All the contents...gone, then gone again. But I feel most fortunate that no one got hurt and my dog was safely recovered. With time, your things will come back, too!

Holding on to all of those things wasn’t doing what she hoped, which was to hold on to the memory of her son; it was trapping her in the grief and helplessness she felt when she lost her son. It’s a cruel irony that sometimes the walls we build to shield ourselves from pain can become unintended prisons of our own creation.

She said that she bought two of everything thinking that if she did, it would bring her son back. The only hoarding I really don’t understand is when it involves animals or animals that have died in the home, or homes that have literal trash in it. I don’t get that. @@jackiekane6489 For people who never face the feelings within them when they originally experience loss, the feelings stay inside of them and manifest as many sorts of coping behaviors. The difference between you and her is you most likely somehow came to terms with losing your loved ones. She never even faced the loss. She never came to terms with it. People don't realize how significant processing emotions is. If you dont deal with emotions, they stay within the body and will come out as other behaviors which is a sign to let the person know, theyre carrying trauma or something is not right. Most of us aren't taught to self scrutinize and understand what our behaviors reflect to us about ourselves. Most people don't know how to go within themselves and face themselves. Its a journey to be able to do this. Takes a lot of courage.

Losing a loved one is the worst thing I've ever been through! I understand wanting to hold on to memories. When I had to get rid of my mother's things I felt like I was throwing a piece of her out and I had so much guilt!!

I resonate with that. I kept some of my mum's clothes but felt okay about donating the rest to the charity shop that helps fund the hospice who took care of her in her final weeks. 3 years on I still have photos and mementos of hers I need to go through. When she was alive she gave me some gifts that I didn't especially like, however knowing she'll never give me another gift can make it hard to part with these things. It's not easy.

I agree! I have lost both my parents and my brother. Its hard to get rid or their things. I dont have a lot , a few fur coats, my mothers wedding dress and a small pile of linens that were mostly from WW11 for table tops, bureaus etc. I cont need them but what to do with them, same with the coats and dress plus a camel hair skirt and jacket. Ive held onto these things for the past 11 years safely. Its time to do something with them but what?

I love this family! The support and respect to each other and they don't judge her! Hoarders are suffering from inside and not everyone can understand!😓They need professional help and counseling and support from family and love ones!

So touching. There are so many people in my country living in poverty and there are people there living like this. But she is kindhearted to donate her things. God will replace your empty space with love. Prayer from indonesia.

Omg I can't imagine the pain of her losing her handsome son. Heart breaking 💔 😢. I can understand this was her way of coping all those years. Her sisters are incredible. This was a lot of pain built up.

There's a difference between a collector and a hoarderer... A collector collects collectables and a hoarderer collects EVERYTHING!! My partner is a hoarderer, he has just admitted that is actually a hoarderer, I am proud of him though, he parted with a whole heap of stuff he didn't need.

If my sisters were to come to my house, they'd never talk to me again. They are very judgmental people. They think I'm lazy. I tried to explain my depression but they say I'm just looking for attention. They have no clue how much I suffer. This clutter is killing me.

This was the saddest episode of Hoarders that I've ever seen. You could understand how tragedy impacted Nora's life and created the hoarding problem. She was very sweet during the sorting process, not belligerent like a lot of the people I've seen on these shows. I'm so happy that she has the support of her loving family.
