I've just got this! My first crank though made an awful cracking sound and the little shape I'd cut into the paper had also appeared on my plate B! Is this normal?
Hi there! I got one of your die cutting machine as a Christmas present but I am new to die cutting to came to this video to learn how to use it. I followed all these steps but my machine won’t cut through properly at all. It came with 4 plates and all 4 don’t seem to fit but only 3 don’t create enough pressure to cut it. I’m not sure if the machine or plates I got are faulty or if I’m doing something wrong? I hope you can help x
I had to give up trying to get this machine to work. I spent a further £40 buying shims, new plates, etc. What I should have done is not bought it in the first place. I got myself a Sissix Big Shot machine instead for £85. What a waste of money the Hobbycraft machine was, plus all the stress !
i also have problem with some dies it will not cut them ,ive been packing the bottom of base plate with carboard but have now given up ,i had it only a couple of years but looking for a new one this christmas not this one
I didn't get any embossing folders with the machine I have just purchased, only the dies, bit disappointing since they have previously been supplied in this 'starter' kit :(
Thank you for getting in contact, unfortunately embossing folders aren’t included in the starter kit but we will pass on your comments to the Papercraft team to consider for future kits
doesn't make it such a good buy then. especially as lot of people are beginners and wouldn't have any embossing folders. rather save extra and get a electric one.
If I had an 11 y.o. with a brain, and that child would follow the instructions given, I'd see no reason, barring them dropping the thing on their feet, that there would be any reason that it wouldn't be safe. Now, if you're leaving them to their own devices, and the child was prone to experimenting with sticking undiscussed "stock" into the throat of the machine, all bets are off.
Do you still sell a machine like this now? I have the Big Shot Sizzix machine but it’s too difficult for me to use. Does that make sense. I struggle using it. Stops me making cards now
I wouldn't buy any other MANUAL machine if the Big Shot is an issue. Save your money for an ELECTRIC one. (Check out crafters like Jennifer McGuire, who regularly uses such machines on her Y.T. videos. To date, I don't think she has bad-mouthed ANY of them, but you might find OTHER crafters who actually perform comps of some of the electrics out there.)
