Essentially, you now have a trimaran. It is surprising how much weight you were able to put on and still have a good performance. How many people can it carry?
G'day mate, have you tried it out in rough water, just wondering how your boat would perform in calm sea water with maybe 2 or 3 foot swells. Mate it's a great looking fishing platform. Cheers Rob,
Hi Rob, I'm sure she would do fine in calm offshore waters, the swells are pretty wide and would cause her to rise and fall gently. The only problem I have is with the wake from some of the larger boats that FLY by me on the lake. and only when they catch me from the side.
Hi brilliant catamaran build could you give me detail how you made the deck fit the hulls. I'm building a similar catamaran a dart 18 hulls with twin 5 hp outboards. Any advice would be fantastic.
I thought that the reason you changed over. However all you had to do to fix the issue was add on solar panels and charge controller and have the power you need in addition to a small wind turbine for night and cloudy days. And it would of cost less from set up you had.
I installed Rails that run from front to back of the deck (under) , then used 1/4" rubber pads where they met the original crossbars ( rubber because different metals should not touch) then used metal straps to attach the deck to the crossbars.
Sounds great ! I replaced the front "curved" crossbar with a straight one as to work with a "flat" surface. send me your e-mail and I will send you some " build pics"
