Man the more I watch these video's the more I want one. I like your idea with the Hobie bag on the H-crate. I like that you can customize this board any way you like it.
I just got one last week from a local joint not too far from Nick. It’s a blast and worth every penny. I definitely agree with this video. Keep it simple. Best simple setup I’ve had. The Lynx is a workhorse. Durable and stable in pretty rough conditions near and off shore
Exactly. And I already ordered one :) The lightweight and simplicity are simply irresistible to me. Even on my Outback I use extremely simple setup and I guess with something half the weight, happy days are ahead, we will see.
Nick - looking at the Mirage Lynx. I have a 21 Sportsman but often fish alone and I love the simplicity of having a fishing Kayak. BTW - the wife and I stayed in Navarre and didn’t come back only because it was such a long boat ride around the island to get offshore. After watching your videos I will definitely come back with my new Lynx. Great videos and appreciate all of the great advice.
I'm loving mine. Took it out on the bay just yesterday and was very impressed. Stable and went through the weeds no issues. I threw on the Hrails and would love it if they went further forward. Can't wait to see what other improvements you come up for it Nick.
It is interesting that the more I use my Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL, the LESS "crap" I take out with me. Nick's "keep it simple" philosophy is holding true for me. I thought I needed to take everything but the kitchen sink out with me early on, but experience continues to winnow that down. The more I look at this Lynx, the warmer I get to it. However, even if it had been available a year ago when I bought my Sportsman, I'm not sure I would have selected it over the old town. The light weight is great, but I don't ever have to tote my kayak over sugar sand on a beach. That, combined with the Old Town warranty, PDL and $500 less price tag would have probably kept me with the OT. However, if this boat was $1500 or so, I might splurge and buy it too. It definitely looks like a great boat for how Nick fishes!!
NICE thats how you KISS. Ive re rigged my lynx. And got rid of the create. I added the h rails to mine. I will be borrowing that camera mount idea.i also see you removed the bungie cords. Mine will be gone after seeing this.
Oh!!! Navarre… I just realized who you are. I just ordered that seat clip from you yesterday. The guy at Fin Factory Kayak in Corpus where I ordered my Lynx was talking good about your products. 😁 I don’t even have my kayak until Saturday. Needed that clip for sail kit rigging. Any tips or tricks to using the sail kit on the Lynx? Thanks.
going to add on a fish bag? I was thinking if i get one of the Lynx then I would go with the Hbar and mount a envelope soft cooler on the front of it and act as a leg shade/splash guard.
Did you install the self taping screws into the hull/deck or is there plating where you installed the ram ball? Really digging these videos of the Lynx!

Sweet setup, what cart you using with it? I love the idea of a fast and light setup for short quick trips before or after work. Would there be a good way to attach a landing gear to this boat? Reason I ask is because that would further simplify the launching process.
I would never attach landing gear to the Lynx. It’s not designed for it in any way. I have been using the Fish N Mate scupper cart with the Lynx and it works extremely well.

Two questions. Where do you store the excess transducer cord. I use a Lowrance and there is at least 10 feet of cord that I have zip tied and under the seat. How did you mount the paddle holder?
I zip tied the extra cable and pushed the wire back into the transducer hole. I used the screw from the carrying handle and installed the paddle holder.
Hey Nick, I appreciate these uploads! Few questions when you get the time: With the rudder and drive down, how has this tracked, particularly longer distances and windy conditions? Any bad windcocking? In comparison to the Salty, where you could pedal for miles without much effort or fatigue, do you feel you could do the same on the Lynx? Maybe a silly question as its a shorter, flatter vessel. But its also a lot lighter. Thoughts?
Surprisingly it tracks really well. There’s tension on the steering knob so the rudder doesn’t move unless you move it. Pedaling it is effortless. I hate not having instant reverse though and we always prefer the PDL drive.
