Compression would be your opposite force of tension. Just set the turnbuckle to the point that tension is felt by hand, then use the lock nut to set it in place. 👍🏼 Also, a point to be considered isn’t so much the strength of that bolt but the corrosion that can happen. The two dissimilar metals will react against each other and speed up that process. So removing, inspecting for corrosion and replacement should be an annual maintenance procedure. Using a bit of anti-seize lube is a good idea too, especially if exposed to sea water.
