Great video! I just got this the other day. Im not able to put on a quick disconnect for the high pressure hose because the handle is in the way. Would you recommend a 90 or 45 degree connection? Would that affect the pressure?
Hi Roy. I hope this is not bugging you to request this. I recently bought a 2021 forester and I have the catch can to install. I have installed them on other vehicles but never on a subaru with the boxer engine. Would you mind explaining again (or perhaps showing some close up photos) of where the second line connects to (I assume the "out" port on the catch can connects direcly to the PCV valve on the top of the intake, yes?, but where is the other hose located that you connect to the "in" port on the can??). I cannot tell specifically from the video pictures. Thank you so much!!! Chris
@@motleypixel Thank you! I will eagerly await your follow up. If it is preference I can send you an email if it is easier to send photos or something rather than do a separate video. Just let me know. Again, I really appreciaite it.
I just learned that it is not recommended to use teflon tape or any inhibitor of a GHT washer. The reason GHT fitting leak is due to the washer not seating correctly due to teflon tape or other inhibitors preventing the seal. I took all the teflon tape off my ght fittings, out new rubber gaskets in the female ends and no more leaks
I just both the same pressure washer from HD. I am wondering if I have a lemon or not but I am having issues starting the unit. After I run water through the high pressure hose I have al lot or resistance trying to pull the cord to start. I have to hold the trigger to let water flow freely through to release the resistance to start the unit. Is anyone having the same problem?
This is normal. What's not normal is the unit not starting. Ensure the start/stop switch is in Start/Run, ensure the spark plug wire/boot is firmly pushed in/seated onto the spark plug, ensure you have a good amount of good fuel (recommend ethanol free), ensure the gas knob is turned to the on position, ensure the choke is in the choke position. You have to pull the cord firmly and quickly and if it starts to run you have to quickly turn the choke off. If you are too slow doing this and the unit dies then you have to relive the pressure in the hose, keep the choke off this time, and pull the cord again. You can't pull the cord if the action of manually starting or engine starting and then dying occurs because it turns the positive displacement pump which builds up pressure in the hose. Good luck.
Watching this I don`t know whether I want to fix things or play the thing now hahaha. So much great information here, finding a decent sega MD was hard enough, breaking one with lack of experience in this field :( I think The best bet is to find some one local or in UK or US that can do it for me.
First time using a soldering iron = not good to do this job. Get a good soldering station, quality solder and solder tools and practice on old broken tube TVs (of course follow ALL CRT voltage cautions/dangers) first. Good luck, and thanks for the comment.
What? He just graduated HS and is off in Italy with a few friends right now (paid for the whole trip himself). When he returns he's entering into the DEP program in the United States Coast Guard.
The jb weld used with your thermal prep method works! I have been trying to mend a crack in my hot tub for months and tried a bunch of adhesives and fillers. My tester piece from bits I cut from excess underneath are as strong as a single piece. It’s a sparest 300 AR btw. It cracked bc the tub is a bit thin on one side. Took weeks to find it bc it was so small at first.
The easiest way to clear a through hole of solder is to have a good solder sucker. The ones with the plastic tips are horrible. I recommend the silver Japanese one with the silicone tip. It clears through holes no problem
Hello sir! I've been researching this topic a little and trying to decide what I'm gonna use to fix me and the wife's kayak. I had them strapped on my bed, and the front strap came loose, and they drug the road a bit before I could get stopped. Both of them got the same hole in the tail portion wich is a good flat area. I already ordered a piece of 12"x12"x1" thick piece of High Density polyethylene and my plan is to make a patch plug to fill the hole, and also build the area that got eaten away. I see you recommend the Loctite AA 3035. My plan is to make the patch plug and then glue it, then let it cure for a for days or a week, then grind and sand to the original shape. Do you think that Loctite will do the trick?
for something like that I would thermal weld several layers of HDPE and omit using the 3035 adhesive. The adhesive is really for unique situations, say for instance you have a situation where a brass female threaded insert fails or starts spinning freely. You'd want to screw in a bolt, heat the bolt to the point the brass insert heats up and then pull out the insert. Then put the insert back in with 3035 to hold fast. There are other situations that are conducive to using 3035 vs. thermal welding, but for the most part large hull crack/hole repairs should be thermally welded with augmented HDPE, preferably same color. Good luck.
I bought a brand new electric one, never had pressure. I worked on it, read the book, drove myself nuts. I'm a retired mechanic and I couldn't fix the thing. I ain't the type to take things back to the store.
Sorry to hear that. A few thought: 1. This is a 4 cycle gasoline engine driven positive displacement pump built in the form of a residential 3200psi pressure washer. 2. Your pressure washer is electric and as such are much different in design. 3. Most electric pressure washers are often at lower psi as well. 4. Regardless of your normal behaviors I would certainly return it to the store. Good luck.
Hey Roy, Do you still have the PA? I'm sure you saw that I just acquired an 09 PA 14... I'll be taking it on a shakedown run in the AM. I have a friend headed to Lady Bird in the morning (May 12, 2024) I didn't want to impose so, I'll go out alone on Woodlawn lake in San Antonio. I posted a couple vid of it but, I need to find a new video editor because my VLLO is corrupting my videos. Hope to kayak with you some day.
Do you know the material bearing made of? As I need to made some As it is not available in Egypt and I have no mirage dealer here and spare part does not exist
You have to drive out each (fwd/aft) spring pin which I circle here in red: lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AP1GczP78u-I1R2C0wt7EJ65ZC1yV2k-ODZxjhoFZ8qI3-xqPeQp4CPe_-qXBST8iONY-yCnkh1bo5LO-dbAXrnWiIly3nKGpEytqBrUzXJ7E7wCRCLvuIdB=w2400
I have the same pressure washer , just wondering what oil weight does it take ? I'm getting close to my first 5 hrs , oil looks clean . maybe one more job and I'll change it for sure . great video , I agreed works well . little confuse with the soap coming out my tank , I just really use water 💧
Straight out of the user manual (maintenance section): lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AP1GczN6zkSanoezZ-UMEZff5vi55fqpMsAQ26QtrVd6stl5_QOvOMgF08ncORFTYn8PnaOnqDRBFs0joR-QWyCSuXppEnQOBeamvml3XPfEc1iytl1v3fvl=w2400
Next to the gold anodized HP connect? The black plastic dome/cover at 2:18 ? That's the pressure adjust which I believe is spring loaded. I don't mess with those adjustments unless I had a pressure gauge and knew better on how to adjust.
@@motleypixel I feel as if white tip is still to harsh to use on vinyl siding to clean houses. Wondering if I could turn down the pressure to be more safe
Once you’re done with the soap and done flushing it out with water do you leave both valves closed on your 3way valve while running the pressure washer ?
@@ddbrocato ha, well maybe this explains when at times (don' play much anymore) I hop on a multiplayer gaming platform and others say I sound like someone but they couldn't put their tongue on who.
What's unreliable and why? I'm still using mine with the stock hose and it's going strong. I probably use it 2-3 times a month for about 30mins to 1.5hrs.
86F (30C), 27F ( -3C), Water temp is 78F (25C). 10Gallon (37liter) tank. 2hrs later, temperature drop to 72F (22C). On my own setup. 1 peltier with fan consume 55watt. Takes more energy to bring water temp from 30 to 25..living near to equator. I put 2 peltier now. 110watt consumption... 70 liter tank. Takes abt 20hrs to reach 30c to 25c.... i now worry about my electric bill... 😢
