just popped my packets in the oven and realized i missed a few ingredients but i think it will be fine. short on sausage so i put a couple costco meatballs in to stretch it. I really think my family will love this.
@@SouthernCountryLiving Holy cow were they happy. they were so dubious about their little packets, thinking for sure mom went off the deep end, but boy oh boy there are zero leftovers and i made enough to feed an army.
btw i have a few adopted guys that eat here on the regular, my "kids" are all over 40 and the one's that "drop in" are my homeless guys who know where to get a hot meal. tonight we were 5. about average for dinnertime here.
I'm so glad that they enjoyed them. The key is to get enough ice to make liquid for the rice to cook. You can change the other ingredients to suit your needs. I have made these several different ways. Calvin

That looks good and easy to make. It reminds me of my Grandpa. He said he was a hobo when he was young catching rides on trains. I bet that was an adventurous but dangerous lifestyle. Have y'all ever tried any other meats to see how they would be with it? Have a Blessed Day Friends! Justin

We use to make hobo’s but we didn’t call them that, we put a piece of chicken,rice ,peppers,onion, butter, salt and pepper and green beans, they were really good.
Looks so good. I used to have these when I was in the Boy Scouts. The great thing is you can add change it up and use different meats and veg. Great video 👍

This may be of interest to you. You mentioned peach cobbler. I live in California, and I tried to order Georgia peaches a couple years ago to make some desserts but was told that CA and Arizona are two states which will not allow shipments of GA peaches to be shipped over to them. Was I disappointed! No GA peaches and no cardinals in California--we are deprived. Can't get White Lilly flour over here, either.
I have made meals using foil before, but not this one. Cal, you are probably using your favorite smoked sausage, Eckrich brand. I remember seeing it in the markets around here, but lately, you cannot find it in the stores anywhere, probably because was either too expensive and the people here preferred something just as tasty but what they found cheaper in buying other brands. No demand, they stop selling it.
