Goalie fights never happen like this nowadays, but generally if a goalie is getting involved in scuffs after the whistle the other goalie may come challenge them
Probably because they know he's gonna get his ass kicked anyways lol. He's probably lost every fight he's been in and they're like "eh...not worth it".
Not just standing, not just letting it happen, But... Gladly cleaning the debris from under the boys, so nothing will obstruct them having fun! That is what for the refs were introduced to the hockey! ❤
I love how the refs just let em be til they or one falls down then they jump in and separate. Never was a huge hockey fan but being at one and seeing the fights was a unique experience.
I had a game yesterday and this kid was chirping me the whole game. It was non-league so he was hooking, cross checking, etc. I got a breakaway and he was the only thing between me and the net. I was in the neutral and crossing the blue line. He was on my back pocket and decided to hook me because he knew I would burn him. If he didn’t do that I would have scored. I was pissed and started chirping at him after the whistle. I gave him a warning elbow and for the remainder of that game I let him know that i would be willing to drop the mits if he pulled something stupid again. We came out with the W 5-1. Although he was by far the star player of his team I managed to shut him down on defense and gave him a chirp every time I did. He didn’t score once. In the handshake line I told him “enjoy the loss squidder”. He was pissed and gave me a push so I said screw it and we got into a fight. Refs broke it up and we walked out un-penalized.
Patently unfair! I understand that it's only the two goalies, but there has to be a player wearing the white jersey sticking up for the lone goaltender in a lopsided fight. And somehow, there's already six dudes in the dark jerseys readt to defend their teammate AND a seventh player in the dark jersey jumping on to the ice. Honestly, this SHOULD'VE BEEN a "Slap Shot"-inspired all-out bench clearing brawl. [I would've understood it and (I'm from the Bronx where all-out fights are not unfamiliar) I would've endorsed it 💯!]
100% agree, its pathetic the way hockey has become. No prob with the fight from me. The clowning and no one on the Nailers being around is disgraceful.
Was in attendance the night Felix Potvin fought Ron Hextall. I thought Hextall was gonna murder poor Felix but low and behold, young Felix kicked the snot outta Hextall. Loved every second of that one!
I love this because it’s one of the few places men can fist fight still without catching a case or a gun being drawn in for no reason other than cowardice
