I'm a strong believer that athletes should be expected to play the sport they signed up for and shouldn't be forced to do something. I've worked at places that have shirt themed days and I was never required to participate.

In my countries national basketball league they are currently having a pride round, some players from one of the teams said that due to their religious beliefs they would not wear the jersey, and so in support of these players the WHOLE team decides they would not wear the jersey, I loved this, that the team would get around their teammates in support and so they couldn't be singled out, they took the backlash together, and of course there has been external backlash.

NHL went woke about 4 years ago, and that's when I cancelled my NHL center ice subscription... The NHL panel on Sportsnet is now 2 black guys (there is only about 0.1% of league is black players, and in Canada as a whole we're about 6% black population, so way overrepresented), 1 white ex NHL player, and a woman (they dont play in the NHL, and women viewership of NHL is less than 5%.... It's F ing ridiculous

Hearing that these fine gentlemen still have firm beilefs in the gospel and sticking to their guns puts a smile on my face, no discrimination against the opposing people, respects their choices, but stands strong with their own religious morals, God bless these gentlemen.
Yea this stuff is starting to turn into harassment, like when you go out and a guy starts flirting with you with no filter as if it's normal for even a woman to verbally molest you.

Funniest thing: his jersey sold out after this story went viral. You can't force acceptance. It's gradual and through winning hearts and minds w compassion that you get support. Not via cancelation and career ending. I hope this happens more often, we need more people to stand up and, respectfully, say no + not bend the knee.
It’s not even about slow rolling anything. It’s about respecting other people’s views. Be gay if you want to be gay, but I shouldn’t have to wrap my car in rainbows on a set calendar day or be classified as an intolerant bigot. That’s what’s happening. They preach tolerance, but don’t tolerate people who respectfully disagree with their beliefs. Bake me a cake or I will shut you the F down.
I agree with not forcing acceptance, he should not have to wear the jersey and players should not be forced to stand. It doesn't seem that those viewpoints were handled equally but whatever
