Judo and jiu jitsu both use the guitar to train alot of clothing techniques. There are quite a number of throws, chokes and grips using clothing.

Hockey players are masters at this. Hockey fighting is actually one of the best styles of fighting for self defense that never gets talked about. Control the guy with with your left hand creating distance /using leverage and punching with the right.

i think if this dude was a bouncer that came over and asked me to leave, even i was drunk, i would probably think it would be best to leave and wake up the next day with all of my teeth.

Love the look of the Asst. Demonstrater. 😂 BLINK..... BROTHER.......BLINK ! (He's thinking this dude gonna F*ck me up!) He was just looking for directions to a real bar wasn't he....😂 May I suggest the phrase: ( I don't recommend this as a bouncer. ) This would be a great defense for a guy who bumped into the wrong wall (Dude). 😉

The opponent is not going to sit still while you are trying to manipulate his clothing to your advantage. I like the ideas themselves because I’ve used one of the techniques but I wish he would address the issues of the other person moving around and trying to stop you from doing that to him. No disrespect to the instructor.

It would be a thousand times better to have a small, & small in frame guy demonstrate this, not a strong, beefy, solid & combatant looking guy like Mike Serr. And has probably done it hundreds of times with all his back up as a bouncer. I bet none of these so called experts have ever been alone with no or little back up on the streets in a real altercation.Easy to see this could work by someone with a size advantage like Serr. What about someone non-aggressive & placid like myself who is only 5'4", and quite petite for a male. Annoying. Do a video like this one, with a small guy demonstrating against someone much bigger who is acting beligerent, menacing & resisting, not someone like this hooded guy who is cooperating to make this technique work. These sort of videos annoy me, because they make me wonder if they have ever had real time in the streets... where the odds were stacked up against them... NOT where there's another bouncer or a team of bouncers nearby ready to jump in and help if things don't go down well.

A strong small guy crouching is able to destroy the knees of a tall man. "All answers can be found in nature." Avoid power disparities - but if you must: kneecap kick to blinding/eardrum slap to BJJ choke...in ONE CONTINUOUS COMBINATION...in a flash FAST. Small frame dude has to excel at the psychology of prefight management. Most people wince at the idea of the bully manhandling the little guy - but if you try hard enough, a big dude can be provoked. If you don't roll at a jujitsu dojo yet - start. YESTERDAY!

There's a book called ''Watch My Back'', by a former bouncer named Geoff Thompson. He mentioned working with a former boxer, a little taller than you are, who was very effective. MMA fighters Norifumi Yamamoto, Matt Serra and kickboxer Mike Zambidis are short, but had some impressive wins. PS: watch videos of bodyshot knockouts in boxing matches. Also, if you're alone when trouble starts, punch first and run.

Glen, I’m the same size as you. Was the same weight, too. When I started martial arts I found all the techniques very difficult to do against anyone larger than myself (most everyone) I found two ways to alleviate this 1. Weight lifting and steroids, helped me gain weight and strength and put me on even footing (even advantageous) with opponents 2. Speed and violence. I had to make myself mentally comfortable increasing the level of violence extremely quickly against my opponent. Our advantage as small men is the opponent will underestimate us and approach in an arrogant menacing way. Immediately escalating the level of violence with speed and first strike has served me better than years of techniques or even steroids. Example: opponent approaches in menacing way, I immediately hard slap in ear followed by elbow, grab collar with both hands pull down into headbutt then knee or slap to groin. Kick or stomp the head. Look up Paul Vunaks early stuff,he was way ahead of his time and basically was a strong advocate of ultra violence to end the threat. Don’t square off and try techniques or whatever, we as small guys don’t have that option. We need to strike first, extremely hard and as fast as possible.

Because while you grab their clothing they can't do the SAME TO YOU and or your hands are tied up. This is like high school techniques, what is there even to teach? Also if any bouncer did this in any venue outside of a members only Hells Angel's clubhouse, they would be arrested and sued and fired.

@@1101agaoj Only thing I've noticed when seen street fight footage, that the menacing dude is dancing around, so could be hard to do the front kick to knee cap?. I know that what you say is no shit, because years ago I trained with a renowned instructor whose strong emphasis in his own words, was to be a "knee cap hunter".

Note to Mike Serr : 😉 Your learning a lot about American bouncing aren't you 😁 These techniques would work in an Israeli bar ( so would an AK-47) but no way in hell in America and if you employ these tatics (as a bouncer) anywhere in the world, All your doing is creating a pissed off person who's going to meet your face with a baseball bat as you walk through a unsuspecting doorway or expect the same thing when you're taking a leak and some guy taps you on the shoulder and you turn around with your Wang hanging out. 😲
