She shouldnt have to spend her life, the rest of her life taking care of that mess. They are divorced and he relapses because HE HIMSELF does not really want to quit deep down. Hes like a curse to her life contributing very little positive. I feel sorry for her.

As I have discovered Ben Affleck father was an alcoholic. when you have an alcoholic parent they are absentee parents they're there but they're not there the kids see the lifestyle and I was told by a therapist that who you are and who you become is a product of your childhood I know this very well because I also had an alcoholic father he was an absentee father but he was there and I struggle with addiction myself so I understand what is going on with Ben I am glad that he has an ex-wife that is on the ball and that is getting into rehab it's not Ben's fault he has it in his jeans and now it's a battle for life so good luck to you Ben. Everybody is pulling for you because I am sober 10 years and there are a lot of people that are so perfect for 10 15 20 years and I know you can do it too but if you fall off the wagon get up and you go back and you go back and you go back to your back till you don't have to go back anymore.

Jennifer Garner loves family and her priorities are in check. She picked Ben up, took him to where she knew he would be safe, she literally took him to church because she is a woman of faith and she knew that peace and serenity is what Ben needs, she still put him on a pedestal for her kids because the love for their dad is unconditional. She is gracious, soft hearted, gentle, humble, unselfish.

She probable wants to help him get better 4 his kids. He got some problems on top of the addiction he cheated on jenn with nannie, then they go though divorce or maybe they still married, lindsay dumps him realizes she can help him with this goes out and dates a 22 year old to just party with probablly. So yeah jenn still loves him sounds like she had him on the right track when they were married he became a producer with an oscar and now maybe one booze drink sent him back down that spiril. He probably confused about his feelings with jen he loves her deep inside but does not want committment. He gotta get together be responsible parent charlie sheen drove him to rehab once lol but look at charlie now. We love ya ben get it together.

I feel for Ben but also am upset with him. He had a good like with Jennifer Garner and seemed he took it for granted. Seeing Jennifer do this for him and still care for him this way, even for the sake of the children, I get the feeling that she was the rock that kept Ben stable and together. She doesn't have to do this, but she did anyway. I get the feeling that Jennifer had to deal with a lot while married to Ben and it doesn't seem fair, even now when they are divorced. And for Matt Damon to allegedly say, he never liked Ben, oh really? I suppose Matt likes the Ben that did whatever he wanted.

The thing is they are divorced and time and time again he goes down this road - uh how many times has he been in REHAB (Malibu Country Club Rehab "Promises" what a joke). He's hopeless and she needs to let go and move on. You can't fix someone who is not willing to bend and who is not serious about changing. This is a temporary bandage and will be Jenifer Garners life story of picking up the pieces every time he crashes (Co-Dependent and unhealthy). The whole family is better off without him in their life. Ben and his Brother Casey are messed up. I just hope Ben's kids don't follow in his footsteps.

I take it they are friendly after the divorce and she wants to attempt to help for the sake of the children, but in the end it is not her responsibility to do so, and at some point she will just have to let go. The whole alcoholism is a disease? Well it is a ailment that can be avoided by not drinking alcohol to begin with or drinking too much and using alcohol t squash emotions.

That’s very insensitive. If someone have a heart and willing to go through lengths to save someone suffering from addiction or mental illness, that’s their choice. And I respect her for that. People with mental problems needed our help and patience, it’s hard but we have to understand what they’re going through is very very difficult.

I'm not understanding something, if this is the father of her children exactly how does it speak to her alleged superhuman "extraordinary" ability to care and convince him to go back to rehab? I know they aren't together, he cheated on her, etc. etc. but this is what "normal" human beings do, they care about other people, even ex's. She doesn't get a feather in her cap from me, next story. It was very good that she did. Because today's society is all about "me me me", it's nice to see ppl still caring even after divorce.

Let's be honest. A lot of people would be like "Well, I tried to help. I'm not going to waste my time if he doesn't want to get help." I know that this isn't a GREAT example, but Kourtney Kardashian was one of the people who kinda gave up after a point and didn't get involved afterward with the father of her own kids.
