Just ordered this rifle, in Sweden its about 2817 USD, really hope its worth it. Its one of the very few semiautomatic high powered rifles allowed on a rifle license for hunting purposes (one can buy a semiautomatic AR15 on a sporting license but that is a much more complicated qualification process). I will use this rifle for target practice and hunting for moose and hogs. Mostly target practice and future security in Sweden's oncoming ethnoreligious civil war.... :/
Hello I was wondering what you ment by a ethnoreligous cival war in Sweden , and I was also was wondering if their were unreported tensions that I didnt know about going there
@@marcderkovitz3768 We are 10.5 million, about 2 million are foreigners, most from third world countries like Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan etc. We have problems with clan based criminal networks, drug pushing, corruption among foreigners working for the government. Terrorism and crime is on the rise. Sweden is the rape capital of the world, only beaten by shithole countries.
@@patrikpatriksson Wow...thanks for sharing. US is heading down a similar path, not enforcing ur borders leads to empowering criminals/human traffickers and encouraging criminal enterprise in our country, a fact many or our politicians pretend is xenophobia for political reasons.
@@GoKenIchiGo I know America is going the wrong way but where you mostly have latin americans as illegal immigration we have afghans, iraqis, somalis. Its a whole different level, plus americans have more freedom defending themselves if they are being victimized. In Sweden Im not legally allowed to use a gun for self defense even though I own a the Bar DBM, a Glock pistol and a shotgun. If I use any of them to fend off an attacker or a break in into my home, Im the one getting put on trial.
Glad to finally see a video about this gun. I bought one in ATACS LE camo 2 yrs ago. I have Leupold VXR Hog scope on it. Also have FN 20 rd mags for it. Great gun. Accurate, low recoil, reliable, compact and cool. Love it so much I bought the custom wood stock version with flush mag from Performance Shooting for deer hunting.
I own one these and I love it. I use it for deer hunting here in Maine. The thick and mountainous terrain in the Eustis area is tough hunting. I am always moving through that crap. I need a quick shot off and this gun is there to deliver. It comes up onto target quickly and is fairly light. It shoots pretty accurately too. I was about 1 1/4 inch groups at 75 yards. That’s great for an 18 inch semi automatic rifle.
I have the Mk3 with the wooden stock in 300WM and it is a sweet shooting gun. We don't have hogs up here in the NW but for moose, bear or really anything up here it's the perfect combo of form and function. Not to mention it looks bee-yutiful. Almost too purty to take in the woods :) And it has less kick than my bolt action 300 so it's a lot easier to shoot overall. Only 3 rounds in the mag and one in the hole, but with a 300 if you need more than four shots you need to practice more before you go out. But... you can also carry an extra mag and pop it in place if need be. Not as quickly as the gun in this video but you can be back in action pretty quick if you practice.
I wish more folks knew about this gun A gas adjustable hammer forged barrel .308 semi auto with an excellent trigger and the ability to take 20 round FNAR mags If only Browning (Actually FNH) would give us a treaded barrel like the FNAR heavy had.
I would love to see them bring it out in 9.3x62, also with a 10 round magazine, and a threaded muzzle, and the very low mounted red dot that they offer on some models. And without the HC feature, please.
Be nice if you guys just made all BAR's magazine fed like this variant, including the .30-06 ones. Although it is more baffling is how this BAR DBM is only in .308 when 7mm-08 Remington and .243 winchester use the same casing size and you have the regular BAR's available in those calibers.
John Browning didn't invent that version of the BAR (it's not directly derived from the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle). Marcel Olinger and Bruce Warren Browning (John Browning's grandson) of the Browning Company developed it in the 1960's. Other engineers have reworked the original [1960's] design ever since, and although it bears a faint cosmetic resemblance of the original BAR, it was not John Browning's design.
Well no shit he didn't make the mk 3 he's fckin dead in the ground its his pain parts milled and re designed over the years that has made it to what it is today
Love my dbm. Just start collecting FNAR mags. 20 rounders. 10 round and 5 round which is a pinned 10 round mag. I have a few of these for deer hunting in my state. I mated gun with Leupold vd-5hd 1-5. True 1 power scope. With zero stop Love my gun it’s bad ass and I even keep it in truck as defense rifle. Got mine to shoot sub MoA with Nosler 168 e tip
I love my Browning BAR DBM. But I have been looking for a 3 round mag (for hunting). Preferably one that doesnt stick out so much. Havent found one yet.
Great video, I got one last year in 300 WSM that is a damn cannon my new moose, elk bear gun, but I took down a monster public land buck last season with it on my channel. Was trying to see if my mag detaches like this one or not. great job.
Different mags. Yours come out but the clip to floor plate. This is true drop mag. FNAR mags are what work in it for higher capacity. Very expensive but you can still find them on gunbroker. FN discontinued these mags but if this gun took off I’m sure they start producing again. This gun been available for 3 years and hardly a breath of it. I blame the marketing team because if they marketed it right it would fly off shelves. Amazing gun
Wish they made a long range version. Longer barrel in 6.5 creadmoor, 270 or 300 wsm, maybe even the ole 06 platforms. Or coyote verson in 243, 350 legend, or 300 savage. Heck, be cool to revive 35 Remington in this platform. Be nice to have detachable mag in general...
Question for anyone here - could this be used safely left handed? i.e. will the casings eject safely or possibly hit one in the face? Reason I ask is I am seriously looking for a .243 semi and it is not available left handed anywhere I can find... Thanks in advance for your responses.
The Springfield M1A scout/Bush rifle is better choice for me. The lack of Iron sights, no threaded muzzle, and 10 round mags double the price makes the Browning a poor choice. I would love the rifle, Browning needs to give a hunter/shooter more for the money. Mike
My BLR in .308 will shoot a cloverfeaf at 100 yards with 135gr crimped hollow points. Then move to soft nose boat tail 165gr and shoot 3/4 inch groups at the same distance. Thats a lever gun shooting sub moa. Thats why you buy a Browning.
Now imagine this in .300 Win mag in the same exact format. I know they have the BAR Mark III ,but that's a 3+1 capacity with a hinged magazine. You can't make aftermarket magazines for it to fit. You need to remove the hinge mechanism entirely and convert it to a DBM model. Then manufacture a magazine. Nemo makes those for their Nemo Omen Watchmen rifle. If Browning made a BAR Mark IV DBM .300 Win Mag they could call it the Bear Medicine Defense. The Browning BMD Mark I DBM
Well, I owned a BAR in 300 win mag. It was honestly the most beautiful rifle I had ever bought and owned. It turned out to be the most expensive boat paddle I had ever bought. Piece of junk, unreliable, and hardly ever function-able. My rifle had been back to Browning’s Missouri services center three times and when it came back the third time I sold it immediately. It had failure to function, failure to cycle, and even failure to feed with multiple premium ammo tried. I was so disappointed in this rifle and in the end with browning that I’ll never own another browning rifle, ever. Browning should have exchanged me another rifle based on a lemon policy after two service attempts, but browning doesn’t even know their own lemon policy and they failed to provided superior customer service. I called, emailed, inquired with sales at the retail store and in the end nothing. If you want a great hog rifle that’s auto. Get an ar platform that reliable and proven. The gas system on a bar is not adjustable unless you want to break your warranty. The gas block screw is painted and tamper proof; so buyer beware. Browning really left me disappointed when they wouldn’t make a purchaser satisfied; this rifle’s retail is around $1200 as well.
See I've been looking at getting either the mark 2 safari or the mark 3 and that's my biggest concern... I've been reading a lot and it seems that it all depends where it's made, there are 3 different locations I believe that make guns now and the quality of 2 of them is kinda poor most the time but the one place that they've been making guns I think from the beginning is the best place to get one from. So unless I could get one from there for sure idk if I want to waste my time and money. The only reason I've been looking for a good semi auto in 3006 is because remington did away with the model 7600 pump and on gunbroker they want an outrageous amount, anywhere from 100% - 500% mark up
Buy a Remington Woodsmaster model l 742 in 243cal -30-06cal for $250-$500 buy detachable extended mags and have ( almost) the same set up on the cheap. As long as its not wore out, Browning BAR's don't have that problem.
@@catjackoff-road855 UPDATE: bought a wood master & a BAR 30-06 . BAR shot all over and woodmaster shot a inch @ 100 yds. just the reverse of how i thought it would play out. all with hand loads
@@davevann2925 interesting, my buddy had a 280 woodsmaster couldnt get it to group under 5” at 100 no mater what we tried, he sold it and bought a mk3 in 300wsm and its an inch gun at 100, i also have a 270 wsm in mk3 that is a tack driver, but i have heard good bad and ugly about both guns
Here are a few options. #1- Browning BAR Mark 3 DBM 308(10rd) #2- Benelli R1 Pro Big Game 30-06(10rd) #3- Remington 7600 .243 Win (Pump Action) ( Aftermarket 10rd magazines do exist for this. By Triple K or Lucky 13 magazine)
Please bring back the Browning Hi Power. I plan on becoming a Police Officer or Soldier when I’m older and need a quality weapon like the Hi Power. I’m sure many people agree with me
I don’t understand the point of only chambering it in .308. For $500 less you can get an AR-10 which is much more modular and has ability for larger mags
Auto loaders will reduce some felt recoil. However if you don't get the trigger time at the range a bolt action or auto loader won't help lack of proficiency. I have an X Bolt topped off with a Z5 3.5-18x44 P BC and only because I practice under hunting conditions do I feel very comfortable that my first shot will be well placed. If all your time ar the range is shooting from a bench you shoot poorly when you shoot from a prone, sitting, kneeling or standing position. If using shootung sticks better take them to the range and practice with the sticks. In Texas we shoot from a blind towards a feeder at a range of 125 yards or less. The limited movement in a confined space of a blind requires a well placed shot the first time. Whatever you shoot get in that time and practice.
Love my JMB MK 3 30-06. Hog killing machine! It blows their lungs out and it's not even 9 mm. Of course my old school Auto 5 will kill their souls at the right distance,😏
A bolt action hunting rifle is a repeater. Any gun holding more than one round at a time is a repeater. And John Browning was long dead when the sporting BAR was designed.
Hmmm, light weight? Browning lists the weight at 7.6lbs. With a 1lb scope and full mag, your looking at over 9+ pounds. Guess I better hit the gym before lugging this thing on a long hunt. Handsome rifle though. The wood version is nicer still.
all good my crossman airgun weighs more i lug it all day small gaming along with extra air tank, some days i carry extra crossbow incase i run into deer haha
Just be glad that you didn't have to lug around the original M1918 BAR which weighed in at 16 pounds empty and as much as 25 pounds with ammo, bandolier belt and the bipod!
I handled one in the gun store a couple of years ago and the stock feels like it's a Barbie playhouse. In the video the action noise is hilarious. I think this is a good example of a gun that needs to have a lot of quality and function changes and updates and have its price cut in half before it becomes something that you want to purchase. Seriously you can get a really good rifle that most likely functions better have updates done by a gunsmith and still by yourself and the family dinner for that price.
Not for nothing, but you don't have to keep a gun to feel beholden to a company. The mere fact that one enjoys a relationship where a company loans guns for reviews is enough to bias reviews.
Have you seen the BAR MIII with a wood stock? I think you will change you mind if you see one. I bought the composite model but wanted the wood. Trying to buy the wood stock separate but not having much luck.
@@jimbosammy4255 I love the styling on the Safari models and the older stalker models, esp. when they offered iron sights. I agree that the wood stocks on the MK 3s are the best of the current lot, but I still prefer the styling on the previous generations. Good luck finding some wooden stocks!
