No my dear The hot water is used to loosen the hair on the hog makes it easier to shave off that hair!!!!

Right should be no hotter than 140 Deg, Any hotter will cook it, Right you are Erica , What a big Job processing that big old Hog, But the meat will feed a lot of People etc.
