Hogwarts Legacy [PS5] Sony X900H HDR Picture Settings 

Note: because of the limited dynamic range of my camera some parts of the video could look a bit too dark or too bright. The real life results look much better. Setting the HDMI Video Range to limited actually gives better Colors in this game and removes the "washed out color look" 🪄🤓 Enjoy! Edit: For even more punchier colors you can also set LIVE COLOR to Medium (I normally don't recommend this but in Hogwarts Legacy it looks kind of good)

This helped me out a lot! Just started playing Hogwarts. Image has been looking a bit washed out. I’ve setup HDR correctly using ps5 calibration on my Sony x90j, which automatically sets in game HDR correctly, but still looks washed out. I’ve looked at your video and changed the one setting I never touch, that being HDMI video range to limited(leave it on auto normally) and now HDR looks great! It’s really odd, because I don’t normally fuck with that setting and never really had an issue with HDR on other games. I went back to in game HDR menu and you can clearly see the difference in the calibration photos, like it’s what it should be. There is definitely a RGB bug I reckon. Thank you 🙏🏻

Are these settings going to be room dependent? I basically wanna just use my TV for color grading w/ some gaming so I'm looking for color accuracy more than anything~

Hi! Do you have GTA V? I'd like to see you demo the game through your TV as I'm also planning to purchase an X90K. I really love your footage of The Last of Us. Even with your somehow limited camera, the TV's PQ still shows accurate colors without bleeding. Not to mention the contrast ratio is more manageable than what we currently have.

X90J tips? I know they are similar TVs.

Turn motionflow on, that character movement stutter is insane. On Balanced mode, there’s no way to stop the stutter, unless you turn vrr on, but that causes a flicker, and as a matter of fact, it’s less fps than fidelity ray tracing. You can check this in your ps5 settings. Balance mode starts out at 43+ fps and jitters with cap on and off. Ray tracing is a solid 60 fps with cap turned on, but you do get the shadow smudge when moving in dark areas from motionflow. Fidelity is pretty much exactly the same as ray tracing. Performance mode gets a solid 120 fps if you can believe it, with cap turned off, it’s pretty smooth, making the high frame rate setting rather pointless. I prefer ray tracing, the graphical difference is just too great, it’s smooth with cap turned on and to avoid the shadow smudge effect from motionflow, I avoid looking directly at the player character. The shadow smudge isn’t noticeable on performance mode, but motionflow still needs to be on the not get the jittery movement.

Are you setting the video range to limited on both the TV and the console?

Would these picture settings be valid for any game, or are they mostly Hogwarts Legacy?
