My only issue is how we cannot really interact with the environment. I wish we could do more things in the world like sit down or open cupboards and stuff, but then again,it's not like it's a life simulation game
Dude, as someone who plays Bethesda games regularly, hearing you say Hufflepuff dorms has the most glitches has my mind made up that that's the one I'm choosing when I play this game for the first time lmao. I'll feel right at home there! 😅
I wish it allowed for ambience mode where you could just sit or lay in furniture and on walls and stuff, and take baths, listen to audiobooks while sitting in your common room, etc. They built this huge fully realized dream world from this hugely popular franchise, but all you can do is stroll thru it from one trigger to the next until the game ends.
for sucha massive game you really cont interact with the environment, which makes it feel less immersive. You can't chat with anyone but the professors now and again, you can't do things other than eat and drink random foods, and maybe pet a cat if you want to suffer a loading screen. But that's it. You can't even go to bed in your damn bed.
The loading gates comment is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. They created an open world where you can go anywhere including flying with no loading screens. The world is almost seemless.I've had some frame rate drop as well but, only during the battle arena when projectiles are pushing physics to the max. It sounds like you need a stronger rig. The loading gates take at most 2-3 seconds for me: doesn't break inmersion, shit those are heavy doors, gonna take some time to open.
Good to hear! @QbertTehKiller I've heard there's been some performance updates on Steam as of late, so hopefully it's a lot better in terms of stability now. How are you finding the game so far? - Anthony
@The Beta Network it's a really good sandbox game but not much of an RPG. It's a lot like this studio's other games like just cause 2 and mad max with the player freedom and how it kinda gives you a toolset and leaves you to solve problems using those tools. It's super solid for that reason and I'll probably pick it back up again later. I binged 80 hours in a couple weeks and beat the game so I've had my fill for now lol
It's decent, and the scenery is stunning enough, but it doesn't feel like an improvement on, say, Hellblade graphically, a game that was released 6 years previous!
Yep, they always happen the common room 😂 @notaxo. 1385 It's sometimes hard to tell whether an NPC action is just a glitch or simply part of the game - Anthony
My only issue with this game is that the adaptive tiggers or whatever they are called can't be turned off. So after a longish duel my right hand like burns yo lol also the merlin trails get pretty tedious after like the first 5. And After awhile the chests just drop stuff you already have.
I was playing around with my NVIDIA DLSS and graphics settings, but they only made a negligible change overall @user-jc9bq8lm1j The Steam version started updating on my computer yesterday though, so they might have addressed some of the PC performance issues now - Anthony
I have to disagree on the quality. I normally don't watch cutscenes but I was amazed when I first played by how cinematic-quality these cutscenes looked. everything in the game runs smooth and beautifully for me on PC
Sponginess on hard mode? I didn’t feel that way at all. If you figure out good spell combos and keep up on your gear you can defeat any enemy rather quickly as long as they aren’t way above your level
Literally played on Xbox series x 50 hours deep now have had (no problems) phenomenally great game. Also note that I never watched a Harry Potter movie before or read a book… P.S pc is nothing but problems lmao I have 5000$ cpu from last year I built and I wouldn’t even attempt to play a game like this on pc
Awesome to hear that it runs so well on your Xbox Series X! @vaughnthurber6651 I really enjoyed the game too, what's been your favourite aspect so far? But yeah, it almost feels like the game was optimised for next-gen consoles and then ported over to PC, which seems to have lost something in the process - Anthony
Graphics are not good? Man I must be really outdated in modern games because I thought this game is the most beautiful game I've played in terms of graphics and scenery.
Glad i wasn't the only one to notice the immense amount of bugs and textures glitching or not rendering everyone talked about the game being rdr2 level i was shocked but aside of those if you like harry Potter its a fabulous game
Issues and glitches are also present on the console versions on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox X|S. Most games are now made in Unreal Engine, same as Hogwarts Legacy. In fact, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition runs on Unreal Engine 3 and looks and feels better than before (although the M35 Mako in Mass Effect 1 is still terrible to drive).
Why is the linked video a Shadow the Hedgehog video, and why is the opening music for Sk8er Boi almost if not EXACTLY the same as Get Your Game On! (The yugioh GX theme) both even play the opening bit TWICE before the lyrics start
They're definitely better than the game I'm reviewing at the moment-Wild Hearts *cough cough*- @romi861 But it's just that; as a reviewer, you get used to spotting certain levels of graphical fidelity... Hogwarts Legacy isn't in the top range, in my opinion - Anthony
I play on series x, no frame issues at all. Went with the balanced option and the game stays gorgeous at 120. Yes, you can check off the uncap frame rate option, with a less graphics demanding setting, and pull a stable 120 in most places, around 90-100 while flying
I’ve seen many glitches playing the game on PS5 it’s hilarious every time cause one time I was leaving the undercroft and Sebastian was in the ground halfway I come out on top of him and pops out mid air and then just floats to the ground and continues to walk like nothing happened
As much as it just sounds like a Harry Potter fan being biased, I can confidently say it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played and is arguably THE best. Obviously not perfect and there are things I’d change, but most of that is just subjective preferences rather than actual flaws. I’ve never even experienced the frame rate issues some of y’all mentioned; it’s run perfectly since I got it.
Yeah, man! The battles are pretty great! @DR20005 I wasn't the biggest fan of the story, but I'm really glad that you enjoyed it more than me. Are you excited for that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions game that was announced back in April? - Anthony
I completed it today was glad it was over i loved it but the filler things got boring like merkin trails, popping balloons etc got to the point i just rushed the story and completing relation ship quests.
I absolutely love the game. It's the only non-sports game that I play. I just wish there was quidditch and I low-key wish you could attack students lol
I dropped it pretty fast. The AI is impressively stupid. If they have an attack that has 3 hits, they will teleport closer to you just so they can have a chance to hit you. The performance is okay, but you need a high-end to get a good performance. The combat is meh, tbh and the levels don't mean much. I was a lvl 8 crook, and the first thing I did when I gained access to free-roam is that I went into the forest and took down 3 level 25 enemies with 0 problems.
Too right!!! I really enjoyed both games, but was particularly surprised by Frontiers! We got the opportunity to review it as well, and yeah, it definitely did take me by surprise the amount of time I happily spent in the game!
I don’t know what you’re playing it on but on mine the graphics are pretty good. Although from what I’m told, someone else built my PC, and they put a lot of extra do hickeys in it. I’m not much of a gamer, nor do I know anything about tech. But what I do know is because of the extra stuff the graphics are really good and the glitches are minimal.
Honestly if there wasn’t controversy leading up to and around the release only HP fans would’ve played. It’s honestly super mid and leaves so much to imagination. I felt like the Lego games were more immersive
meh, they shouldn t have done so much outside of hogwarts, which gets ubisoft samey VERY fast. I didnt have any inconsistency or bugs on PC though. 7/10, would be better if they focused more.
So what basically happens at the end is that you fight ragnrok in a form of a dragon because you and professor fig were to much of a pussay to not take the magic first
Yall are complaining. The last HP game I played was on gamecube. This looks way better than that. Everyone can piss off. It does have a hearty pricetag tho for all these issues. Are they able to fix them? I haven't really played games since I was a kid.
I think this is a little high. It’s enjoyable to be at Hogwarts, but the story and characters kind of suck. Almost all characters are references to people from the books. The amount of navel gazing that makes a world feel incredibly small.
a lot of the characters are irritating including the MC, the voice acting isn't the best (apart from Professor Blacks). I wish the story was slightly more flexible so I could make more of my own decisions before my character says things without me wanting it to.
From the perspective of someone who never read the books or watched the movies and only played Hogwarts Mystery on mobile: This is a pretty cool game 👍🏽
Well, that's a pretty easy bar to cross 😂 @ladyenn5625 The story didn't really hook me here like the Harry Potter books/movies, but the gameplay and world design of Hogwarts Legacy is absolutely outstanding! - Anthony
I’m playing on switch and it has been SO MUCH FUN! I don’t care about graphics. I have a gaming PC but I never game on it because by the end of the day when I have time to play I want to sit in bed. Hogwarts has been such a fun trip down memory lane. There’s so much to do! I’m 15 hours in with still so much to look forward to! It’s been so much fun, and regardless of anything else, isn’t that the whole reason we play anything?
More power to you 👏 @SwedePotato314 The reason why I mention the technical/graphical aspects in my reviews (if they're relevant) is because of consistency. Since technology in the gaming landscape has advanced so much, you'd expect games to be a lot more polished in terms of frame rates, loading times, glitches, et cetera. The unfortunate thing is, these aspects can really make or break the experience for a lot of people. Hence why I'm compelled to report on them as a reviewer, so players can know what they're signing up for. But hey, you're also completely spot on. Fun factor is one of the fundamental reasons we keep on playing. And if you can continue enjoying them, even with all of the minute-long loading screens and swinging, 20-30FPS frame rates on Nintendo Switch, then that's all that really matters in the end 😊 I should say, thanks for watching and commenting on the video. It's very much appreciated! Which house did you end up picking? - Anthony
It’s not jam packed at all they could of done so much more it actually falls pretty short what they did give us was pretty impressive I’ll give it that
The switch version has terrible graphics and a few more loading screens (you have to enter a loading screen for shops for e.g) but otherwise it is a great game
